Wellness Fair
U.S. ARMY MWR Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs
USAG Daegu MWR Sports & Fitness would like to invite you to the upcoming 2017 Healthy You Wellness Fair! This event will take place on Saturday, 25 February from 1000 until 1300 at Kelly Fitness Center on Camp Walker. In order for this program to be a success, we are looking for great exhibitors like YOU! You are invited to exhibit your products or services during our Wellness Fair. This program will allow participants to gain health and fitness related information, talk with healthcare professionals and take part in our interactive group fitness classes. The fair will feature information booths, opportunities for individuals to be aware of their overall wellness, encouragement to celebrate American Heart Month, information about the community, fitness programming, and what local healthcare options are offered to Soldiers, Families and Civilians while stationed at Camps Henry, Walker, George and Carroll.

Gosung is located on the East Sea, north of Sokcho. Visit the Gosung Unification Observatory, the Tongil Security Park, and the Korean War Exhibition Hall. After the village tour, visit the Mediterranean-themed village with coffee shops, shopping, and crafts in a setting that will make it hard to believe you're still in Korea. Subway Adventure Program 18 February 18 March Depart from Camp Walker Lodging at 0915
Every third Saturday of the month, join the Community Activity Center staff and volunteers on our subway adventure program! The adventure begins at Camp Walker Lodging at 0915. Along the way we will share with you how to purchase subways cards and tokens, navigate and ride both subway lines and the monorail, explore a traditional Korean Market and the downtown area including Dongseongno, the busiest street of downtown Daegu. Explore some of Daegu’s famous alleys such as Yasi-golmok Alley, Gyoding Market Food Alley, Gyodong Market Electric Device Alley and Coffee Shop Alley, and learn how to return to Camp Walker on the subway. Please bring won for the subway, food and shopping. The adventure begins after the Camp Carroll bus arrives at Camp Walker Lodging approximately 0915, we will return to Camp Walker by 1530.

This is an ongoing beginning language class. The basic class is aimed at helping non-Koreans learn how to pronounce, read and write the Korean language. Topics covered include the alphabet, numbers, currency, useful Korean words and phrases.

Get together with friends, family and co-workers and enjoy a fun filled evening of art, conversation and fun. It’s a great way to learn something new from an enthusiastic, professional artist. Join us on Friday, February 3 as we explore basic jewelry making, beading, wire bending techniques and metal piercing (cutting into metal). We will learn tips and tricks on how to turn found objects into “up-scaled” jewelry, how to select beads, bindings and how to put it all together. Explanation will also be given on how to use basic tools and what tools you really need for your jewelry making kit. During this class you will be able to create a bracelet, necklace or earrings. Fee is $40 and includes all supplies to create your project. Also included are light snacks and two beverages; water, soda or wine (with an ID).
