It offers year round excitement for everyone. This resort is located in the heart of Gangwon-do, and has some of the steepest terrain in South Korea. High 1 has 19 runs with everything from beginner runs to an expert run. High 1 is also known for one of the only casinos in Korea that has blackjack, poker, roulette, slot machines and more. Subway Adventure Program 21 JANUARY 18 FEBRUARY 18 MARCH DEPART FROM CAMP WALKER LODGING AT 0915
Every third Saturday of the month, join the Community Activity Center staff and volunteers on our subway adventure program! The adventure begins Saturday, January 21 from Camp Walker Lodging at 0915. Along the way we will share with you how to purchase subways cards and tokens, navigate and ride both subway lines and the monorail, explore a traditional Korean Market and the downtown area including Dongseongno, the busiest street of downtown Daegu. Explore some of Daegu’s famous alleys such as Yasi-golmok Alley, Gyoding Market Food Alley, Gyodong Market Electric Device Alley and Coffee Shop Alley, and learn how to return to Camp Walker on the subway. Please bring money for the subway, food and shopping. The adventure begins after the Camp Carroll bus arrives at Camp Walker Lodging approximately 0915, we will return to Camp Walker by 1530.

This is an ongoing beginning language class. This basic class is aimed at helping non-Koreans learn how to pronounce, read and write the Korean language. We explore the creative world of handmade paper, both western and Korean Hanji. Learn basic paper making skills, how to select paper, how to shape and form paper and what tools to use. During this class you will be able to create a greeting card, a small book and or a small vessel. We will also explore tips, trick and interesting history of papermaking throughout the world.

Learn how to establish and run an effective FRG. Discover FRG funding sources, skills to communicate with Families and basic key caller information. Managing Volunteers and Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) 26 January, 1400-1530 Join us to learn the Army standard to track and manage your organization’s Volunteers. This class will cover the Volunteer Management Information System (VMIS) Organization Point of Contact (OPOC) duties. We cover Volunteer registration, necessary forms, application and certifying volunteer hours. Registration is required for this class. AFTB Level K (Knowledge) 30 & 31 January, 0830-1400 Learn about Army life, explore your personal growth, and assess leadership skills and resiliency. AFTB is the Army’s primary readiness training program to support the Army Family, Soldier and Civilian in developing the skills necessary to become self-reliant, strong, and resilient in an era of persistent conflict. You must attend both days to receive your certificate and registration is required.
