Take the a cable car connection from the mainland to an island! Fly through the air and over the sea while looking out at the stunning scenery. Once at Dolsan Island, take a cruise to Odongdo Island for some light hiking and a visit to Chungpung Lake. Located in Hallyeo Maritime National Park, this marine botanical garden is located 4km away from Goeje Island, southwest of Busan. The island transformed after Lee, Changho first escaped the wind and waves one day while fishing and discovered its beauty. He and his wife spent 30 years creating the breathtaking landscapes which include rare flowers from around the world, sculptures, the Paradise Lounge where you can enjoy the gardens and sea views with a beverage, Sinseondae Cliff, Hill of Wind Tour, and much more! Ulsan Festival and Daewangam Park Tour
Spend time in Daewangam Park and explore the 1km trail through the pine trees that leads to the beach. Views include many rocks carved into interesting shapes by the wind and water, the most famous is Daewongam Island which looks like a dragon rising up into the sky. The next stop is Taewha River/Ulsan Festival where there are over 60 million spring flowers. There is a beautiful 4km trail that takes you through a bamboo grove, stations where you can try on the traditional Korean clothes (Han Bok), Flower Fairy Parade, and much more! Beginning Korean Classes This is an ongoing beginning language class. The basic class is aimed at helping non-Koreans learn how to pronounce, read and write the Korean language. Topics covered include the alphabet, numbers, currency, useful Korean words and phrases.

Camp Walker Community Activity Center
Every Tuesday / 1800-2000 Camp Walker CAC Registration Required / 764-4123 $5 per visit (2 hour session) which includes use of sewing machines, surgers and sewing tools. A different “Project of the Month” will be offered monthly to club participants.
Thursday, 16 May / 1800-2000 Camp Walker CAC Get together with friends, family or coworkers and enjoy a fun filled evening of art, conversation and fun.
Project kits, containing material to complete a project are also available for purchase.
Each month a different art form is explored, it’s a great way to learn something new from enthusiastic, experienced, trained, professional artists.
Club participants may bring in their own projects to receive guidance, exchange ideas or work on during club time.
The fee is $40 and includes all supplies to complete a painting. Also included are light snacks and two beverages.
Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or a legal guardian.

Community Activity Centers Downtown Daegu Subway Adventure Program 20 May / 17 June / 15 July Depart from the Camp Walker Lodge at 0915 The adventure begins at Camp Walker Lodge at 0915. Along the way we will share with you how to purchase subway cards and tokens, navigate and ride both subway lines and the monorail, explore Seomun Market and the downtown area including Dongseongno, the busiest street of downtown Daegu. Explore some of Daegu’s famous alleys such as Yasi-golmok Alley, Gyoding Market Food Alley, Gyodong Market Electric Device Alley and Coffee Shop Alley, and learn how to return to Camp Walker on the subway. Please bring won for the subway, food and shopping. The adventure begins after the Camp Carroll bus arrives at Camp Walker Lodge approximately 0915. We will return to Camp Walker by 1530. No pets are allowed on this tour. All children 17 an under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Camp Carroll Community Activity Center Learn How to Play Traditional Korean Games Games are deeply imbedded in both the history and culture of Korea. It is not uncommon to see games like Baduk (“GO” in English and Japanese) played on Korean TV stations. Join us on Monday evenings from 1800-2000, for a fun filled evening of games like “Hwa-tu”, Jangki-a dice game, Yuknori-a board dice game with wooden sticks. Our Korean staff will introduce one game each Monday, explain the rules and how the games are played in both English and Korean.

Join the staff from Camp Carroll CAC every Tuesday evening from 1800-2000 for our Open Table Tennis program. Waegwan Cultural Walking Experience – May 27 Join the staff from the Camp Carroll Community Activity Center the last Saturday of the month for a Cultural Walking Experience of Waegwan. Explore the fascinating historical landmarks, the rich environmental history and the interesting cultural history that is Waegwan. Our walking experience will begin in front of the Carroll CAC at 1100. We will walk along the streets outside gate 4, climb the path to the monument on top of Hill 303, explore the city market, learn to navigate by bus and how to obtain a ticket for the train, visit historical landmarks and learn about the points of interest in Waegwan. Our journey will return to Camp Carroll around 1500. Please wear comfortable shoes, bring water, money for food, shopping and the bus. The cost of the Walking Experience is $5. Friday, 5 May / 1530-1800 Camp Walker Youth Center We use a 4-H curriculum that covers safety, family expectation and house rules, the policy on the installation, and some basic snack ideas. Each student receives an imAlone workbook to assist in preparing for being home alone and to keep all of their important information together.
