Birthplace of renowned scholars of the Joseon Period such as Gyeomam Ryu Un-ryong and Seoae Ryu Seong-ryong, the village became even more famous after Queen Elizabeth of England visited on April 21, 1999. Hahoe Village (translating to “Village Enveloped by Water”) gets its name from Nakdong River, which flows around the town’s perimeter. The village is located at the foothills of Hwasan Mountain, an offshoot of Taebaek Mountain that rises up to the east. The center of the village is populated by large tile-roofed houses belonging to the Ryu clan, adding their own unique charm to the surrounding thatched roofs.

The tour begins at the Camp Walker Community Activity Center and travels along the Nak-dong and Gum-ho rivers to the Goryeong-gangjeongbo (The Arc). The total round-trip distance of the tour is 42 miles (70km). This is a perfect opportunity to see Daegu in a different light. The bicycle trails along both rivers offer breathtaking views while also refreshing your spirit. Get outdoors and enjoy the weather as well as the vibrant atmosphere around us! As part of the Korean Cross-country road tour, you can receive a stamp at the certification center located at the Arc Building (Gangjeong Dam) while also obtaining detailed information on the Korea Wide Cross-Country Road Tour Program.

764-4123 Tongdo temple was founded by Jajang Monk during the Silla Dynasty (BC 646). While at school in china, he took Buddha’s Sarira, Buddha’s robe and scriptures of Buddhism to enshrine with the Gumgang Buddha precepts alter from China. It was then called Tongdo temple. Tongdo temple is the source of Buddhism in Korea and Buddhist culture. As a cradle of Buddhist culture, Tongdo temple has been an icon of culture and self-discipline for 1400 years. The tour also will visit Tongdo fantasia, which is near the Tongdo temple. This is one of the biggest amusement parks in Kyeongnam province.
