Kelli was born horse crazy and grew up riding horses, but she knew she wanted more. In 2003, she found more when introduced to Vaquero style groundwork at a colt starting clinic. Kelli was hooked. Participating in every Vaquero style horsemanship clinic within a day’s drive and by working with dozens of horses, she refined her skills, and the pieces came together. As Kelli began starting colts and problem-solving full time, the horses learned how to try, be willing, and grew in confidence. With the combination of Vaquero skills, trail obstacles, and dressage skills, Kelli says “I have the tools and the ability to “make” the horse I want!” Kelli teaches clinics and presents at horse expos. With almost 20 years of teaching experience, she teaches horse owners to develop their presence, confidence, timing and feel and to direct the horse’s feet, creating willing, confident, and responsive horses. Kelli loves Trail Obstacles and uses them as a tool to develop horses and riders. Many of her clients ask about her obstacles, dimensions and how to build them. So, she decided to write it all down so many more horse owners can experience the benefits of trail obstacles in her book, How to Build Simple Trail Obstacles. Kelli developed Trail Rider Challenge (TRC) in 2006 giving people a way to measure their skills, develop a partnership with their horse and set goals. TRCs are a great way to have fun with your horse, expose a horse to new things and meet horse friends. Check out Kelli’s Virtual Trail Rider Challenges. You can be a part of the fun from anywhere! Austin Anderson & the Texas Trick Riders
Created in 2004 The Texas Trick Riders show was developed at the request of the Virginia State Fair to provide added entertainment value to the fair’s existing horse show. Standing room only at the fair's 2500 capacity grandstand told Austin that his show was a success. He began offering the show to state fairs, theme parks and even private events. Produced by Don & Jo Ann Anderson, the show was a 90minute grandstand production at many state fairs and featured all snow white horses known as American whites, a breed that originated in the US in 1936. Over the years, the show expanded into other markets to include circus, rodeo, theme parks and dinner theaters. Austin became involved in TV and film work which was also added to the list of things the Anderson family does. Don and Jo Ann have retired from the road but maintain a ranch in east Texas where Austin bases his show as well as trains horses and riders.
