A new record company called Wide-Eyed Records coming to the underground house music scene. The record label is aimed towards people who love music, house music in particular. It is not supposed to be a commercial record company, it is aimed towards people who already know about it, people who are actually looking for this company, not to be found by accident.

Research
Wide-Eyed Records
Looking into successful record companies was key to see how they have approached each aspect of their brand. But also looking further into the kind of music being produced and the target audience that it has. Through research I found that black and white is really important, it means that the logo can be used on different colours and is more adaptable.
Branding & Digital
Brief 7 - Part 1&2
Having a secondary logo that can work on its own is really important, it is also something that the client is looking for and really wants. Having a secondary logo or icon means that the target audience will see this and recognise what the brand in, whereas other people will see it and think nothing of it. This is the intention of the brand to attract only the right audience, that enjoys underground house music.

Concept and Development
The meaning of the words ‘Wide Eyed’ is having the eyes open wide, as in amazement, innocence, or sleeplessness. Also the idea of being in wonder, therefore the branding must reflect this. Bringing out the mysterious side like a wonderland, and the natural aspect in it as Wide Eyed is something that the logo must show.
The concept for Wide Eyed Records branding is to create a brand that is fresh and new, appealing to people who are into underground house music, avoiding getting attention for commercial use. The logo must work as its own thing but also have an icon in the logo which can work on its own.

Logo
Wide-Eyed Records
The logo works both in full with the type and image, but also the fireflies work on there own. Therefore when people see the fireflies on their own they can recognise that it is the brand for people that know about Wide-Eyed Records, and for people who don’t know about them, they will just see fireflies. This is the mysterious effect that the logo is going for, and works really well.

Colour
Brief 7 - Part 1&2
Black and White are the main colours used for Wide Eyed Records. This is becasue a lot fo event posters work with bright colours, therefore the logo needs to be able to adapt to many different colours. Although this teal is used in the website and as small details. This is the colour that can be used in the brand if necessary.

Application
Wide-Eyed Records
The application of the brand to different products and places is important, this will get the word around about the brand. Having stencils cut means that the logo was able to be spray painted onto the ski jumps and piste so that Wide-Eyed could get more exposure. Everything produced is suitable for the target audience, and meets the clients needs, including banners, stickers, and t-shirts for his launch night of the record label.

Merchandise
Wide-Eyed Records
Part 2 of the Wide-Eyed brief from the client was to create business cards for his events manager and the two other artists signed to the label. These people also don’t just have one location, as they all travel with the brand from Verbier to Ibiza with the UK in the middle. As well as business cards the client wanted dart flights for his dart team, and clothing for his staff to promote on nights out.

Online Presence
Part 2 of the Wide-Eyed brief from the client was to create an online presence for him and his company. This would include images and information for social networks. Also a website to show the artists that are signed to the label, some of the music produced, a bit about the company including a news page. Keeping the website simple and clear is important for WideEyed, especially being a new record label, the website needs to be clear and concise.
Keeping the same made typeface that I adapted for the Wide Eyed logo as titles on the websites, but also using it in some of the EP covers created. Since creating an online presence, Wide Eyed has been put onto beatport which is a hub for established underground house music producers and record companies.
