Libraries allow children to ask questions about the world and find the answers. And the wonderful thing is that once a child learns to use a library, the doors to learning are always open. - Laura Bush

D I L E M M A S TAT E M E N T “The Library is a great place for everyone, and with the use of a simple Library Card, users are open to so many possibilities. The Libraries services are useful for all, but are often underused or disregarded due to accessibility, overcrowding and lack of information. How can we bring all of these issues together in a seamless device that is both simple to use and easily maintained?

PR O POS ED SO LUTIO N To answer the question to this dilemma, a kiosk will be created that can be use with the user’s library card. These kiosks will line the library and can be used as an alternate means to borrow a book from the library if a librarian is not available. For even more convenience, an app will also be created and can be used similarly to the Kiosk, with the phone/tablet camera being used to scan physical books for ebook borrowing. Both will also have the option to browse the library’s physical and digital catalog. 15
