Remember the word “cherish” from the first paragraph? According to the Oxford Languages Dictionary it means “verb: protect and care for (someone) lovingly.” Remember to spend time with your siblings and have lots of fun. We are very lucky to have our brothers and or sisters, even if they drive us nuts sometimes. I hope you have a fun siblings day!

May the 4th

Have you ever been mean or done something hurtful to your brother or sister? Or maybe ignored them on purpose? Did you know that May 2nd is National Brothers’ and Sisters’ Day? It is a day to remind us to cherish our brothers and sisters.

According to nationaltoday.com the holiday was “created after an unknown woman lost her brother and realized how she never let him know how much he meant to her.” It is a day about spending quality time with our brothers or sisters and appreciating our bond with each other.

Do you know what May the 4th means? It’s based off of a pun, as it sounds like May the force be with you from Star Wars. I will tell you a few fun facts and things to do on the day.

May the fourth be with you is what they say in Star Wars, like when someone says “may the force be with you,” to wish someone well. So you might just be thinking “Oh it’s just a joke,” but it’s actually an iconic day for some. People all over the world celebrate Star Wars Day.

Star Wars is originally a series of Sci-Fi movies that started in the 70’s. There are 9 movies altogether. The movies came out in a weird order. It started with episodes 4, 5, and 6, then years later episodes 1, 2, and 3. Then finally, 7, 8, and 9. The movies are very popular all over the world.

There are a lot of things you can do on Star Wars day. The first thing you can do is watch some or all of the movies and tv shows. The second thing you can do is play some of the Star Wars games available, my favorite is the Lego Star Wars game on the Nintendo Switch. Another thing you could do is read some of the Star Wars comics and books. Some people even like to dress up as their favorite character.

In the end, May the 4th is a day for celebrating all things Star Wars. You can dress up, you can read, you can watch, you can play. Anyway you celebrate, may the force be with you.
