Wooden truss bridges were used as early as the 1700s.

But the first metal one was completed in 1841.

They are difficult to construct.

They have a high maintenance.

It is difficult to widen if it’s necessary.

Generally, they are not considered attractive.

QUEBEC BRIDGE

Quebec bridge is considered world’s top longest truss bridge. It is 987 meters long. It was opened in 1919.
