Danville’s Hot Summer Sunday Car Show By David Miller, Danville Resident since 1988

T

his legendary car show event has been produced for 25 years, and this year will take place on two Sundays: July 21 and August 18. Show times for the public viewing are 11am until 4pm. Admission to the general public is, as always, free! The event will include an appearance by ABC Channel 7 news anchorman Dan Ashley, who will sing the National Anthem at 12 noon in the parking lot of Primo’s Pizza. He will also give out his Channel 7 ABC “Breaking News Award.” Don’t miss this chance to meet our local TV celebrity in person. Everyone is invited to “Dancing in the streets” with DJ Dave on Hartz Ave., the fabulous voice of Tresena Griffon at Primo’s Pizza’s outside parking lot on Hartz Ave and Diablo Rd. On Prospect St., two world champion high-speed dragsters will be featured. Kids will be able to sit inside of a true racing powerhouse and be photographed by their parents or guardian. What a cool, once in a lifetime experience! We will be selecting 25 Show vehicles for our special awards! Some lucky winners will receive: • • • •

The Police Dept’s Most Wanted Award The Fire Dept’s Hottest Car Award Town Choice Award issued by our Mayor Robert Storer and Town Council VIP’s Producers’ Town Choice Award

For those interested in entering their cars in the event, the producers are now permitting “all year” show cars including Hot Rods, Classics, Customs, exotics and foreign collectibles. Car registration runs from 8am to 11 am on Hartz Ave. and Railroad. Admission is only $25 per show car.
