Powerful Tools For Caregivers
Food, Glorious Food!
A six week educational program designed to help family caregivers take care of themselves while caring for their spouse, relative, friend whether at home, in a care facility or from a distance. Learn exercises for your own mental health and peace of mind, as well as listen to and share your experiences as a caregiver. The series of 6 classes meets once a week for 90 minutes.
With aisles and aisles of choices, and so many ideas about the right things to eat, knowing what and how to eat to stay healthy can be confusing. From the tradition of "food as medicine" we will question the long established food pyramid and other standards of thinking; explore the food groups, food combining, gaining a greater awareness and respect of each meal and trust in our choices. We will also discuss eating with the seasons.
Class size is limited to 6 people and preregistration is required. This class is offered free however, an optional donation of $35.00 is appreciated but not required to help defray cost of textbook.
