River Camp!

One of our longest

running and most popular camps! *Due to popular demand this camp will run for three weeks! A week of fun and games along the beautiful New Haven River. This camp offers hiking, swimming, tubing, games & more! Participants should be willing to do it all. A great deal of time is spent in and around water. Ability to swim is strongly suggested. This year camp will include: a naturalist visit, an archery unit and Vermont Fish and Wild Life will join us with their “Lets Go Fishing” program as well. A letter will be sent home a week prior to camp with information about the week’s activities and what to bring. Instructor Matt Senecal along with his staff and lifeguards bring a summer's worth of fun in just one week. This memory making camp is in its 17th year. We keep a 4:1 camper to staff ratio.

(Camp fills quickly so don't delay in registering.) * Lunch is included Location: Sycamore Park Instructor: Matthew Senecal

MIN/MAX: 15/25

Does your child have what it takes to lead in the 21st century? Young Hacks Academy is a summer camp that uses technology to develop real-world leadership skills. Blending computer programming, problem-solving, and teamwork, YHA teaches kids to build cool video games about big challenges facing the world today, such as climate change, homelessness, and endangered wildlife. As serious as we are about exploring technology, YHA is also committed to having fun away from the screen, moving campers outside each day for unplugged games like treasure hunts and riddle relays. No programming experience is required. For more information, visit younghacks.com.

Agent Training Whether it’s public speaking or collaborating with peers, YHA Agent Training models essential leadership techniques that will immediately help students in and out of the classroom. Agents tackle daily missions using Scratch, a user-friendly, visual programming tool that empowers students to quickly start developing their own video games and interactive stories. The challenge is to come up with a project that will not only entertain their friends, but also teach something about important topics that are impacting our local and global community.
