Community is a big deal. Once a stalwart of Australian culture, good old-fashioned community spirit has been trampled by a society that is fascinated with a fast paced, trendier digital lifestyle. But it’s making a comeback: that friendly, peaceful, village atmosphere is no longer considered to be daggy or dull, but rather highly sought after. We are seeking to connect with those around us, to feel as though we are a part of something real, to belong. Here in Perth we are lucky to have a handful of suburbs where the biggest drawcard is not proximity, price or potential – it’s the community spirit. The suburbs in this report, Mt Hawthorn, Joondanna and Yokine are those hidden gems – and anyone who lives in the area will gladly attest to that. A leafy green enclave, here you will find a laid-back vibe, friendly faces, and plenty of opportunities to get involved. Whether it’s joining one of the many local sports clubs, volunteering at the local community centre, or simply enjoying the hawkers’ markets; this area has something for everyone, and everyone is welcome. If you would like to discover how this captivating and vibrant community has positively impacted the value of your home - or if you’d like to get more involved in something local, then give me a call – I welcome the chance to help you and your family and this very special community!

Queen of Leeds - Oxford St., Leederville Loyal customers, rave reviews and incredible food - Welcome to the new breed of café. Once upon a time, if you wanted locally sourced or home made treats you had to seek it out – and pay a small fortune. But not anymore. The resurgence in café culture has transformed your local coffee house into a destination: all over Perth incredible little cafes are popping up, hubs for quick catchups and sweet spots for slower weekend breakfasts; where the food is simple, fresh, delicious and affordable. It’s a whole new world – and one of my favourites - Queen of Leeds in Leederville is where they’ve got your grab’n’go breakfast and lunch sorted. Friendly, laid back vibe and great coffee with a selection of roasters from interstate and of course the local stars – just another thing to love about our local area!
