WE’RE ON THE CUSP OF SOMETHING INCREDIBLE! Millions of residents, autonomous vehicles, master planned communities and minicities: it sounds like the setting of a futuristic Hollywood film, but the truth is a little harder to believe: this is the future of South East Queensland. Brisbane is a city like many others – we’ve got the infrastructure, retail, healthcare options, access to higher education and diverse housing opportunities that grace most major capital cities. Our river city might be smaller than other capitals, but our climate is outstanding, our lifestyle relaxed and enjoyable; living here is, on the whole, a very pleasant and satisfying experience. But what will life be like when our population swells by more than two million? According to The Courier Mail’s Future SEQ series, which, over the past two weeks has aimed to “examine the threats ahead, explore options for solutions and reveal innovative and achievable ideas for transforming the [South East Queensland] region”, with the right planning, our little corner of the world will remain a terrific – albeit somewhat larger place to live.
IT’S WORTH SELLING IN JANUARY. In January, there are 44% more buyers than any other month. Not only is there an increase in local and interstate enquiry, but the quality of buyer improves. Holidays, employment transfers and school transitions mean people need to buy, leading to strong demand and higher sale prices. Realestate.com.au report their highest traffic in January with over 50 million page views and 2 million direct enquiries to agents. Add to this that in summer there are also fewer listings, less days spent on market and a greater clearance rate for properties.Remember, January only comes round once a year, don’t miss this great opportunity to sell your home.
