Second Quarter 2016 Property Report by Gary Eaton

Hello.

A recent survey of some 300 plus Buyers has delivered some interesting insights into how we go about buying our homes. Not surprisingly, 59% of the respondents said that they initially fell in love with a home purely based on its location. For those who responded in favour of location, 40% wanted easy access to transport options and infrastructure, 29% wanted convenient access to shopping and local amenities, and 16% fell in love with the location because it meant living close to family and friends. With billions of dollars being pledged or invested into upgrading Brisbane’s infrastructure, we continue to be an attractive place to call home. Local upgrades and changes will certainly influence the decisions of many Buyers. If you are interested in discussing how, and indeed even if any of these changes will impact you and your home, then please feel free to give me a call at anytime.

Expect fun (and fireworks) at the Graceville State School fete Place Graceville have been proud sponsors of the Graceville State School Fete for the past 6 years. Blue skies and glorious sunny days. You’ve got to love Brisbane at this time of year – and there will be no better place to be than the Graceville State School fete on Saturday, August 27. The annual event has become a showcase of the community spirit in this area as families gather to enjoy fairy floss, rides, entertainment, food stalls and, to end the day with a bang, fireworks! The action starts with an early morning Garage Sale, where bargain hunters are in for a real treat. Then you can grab a coffee and browse through a wonderful selection of stalls offering everything from home-made jams, sweets and cakes through to clothes, toys and artworks. For the children, the undoubted highlight will be the rides. This year, the popular, gravity-defying Round Up is making a comeback. Others rides and entertainment to watch out for will include the Hurricane, the Giant Chairs, the Rock Wall, the Meltdown, the Mini Jeeps, the Jurassic Obstacle Course and, for the littlies, the Giant Slide, the Cup ’n’ Saucer, the Ferris Wheel, the Jumping Castle, the Ball Crawl, pony rides and the animal farm.

Choose from some superb food stall options, including a barbecue, Mexican, pizza, sushi and the ever popular calamari and chips. If that’s not enough, some fabulous raffle prizes will be up for grabs, including a $1000 holiday package for Tangalooma Island Resort; a $500 carservicing voucher from Ash Prestige; a $400 barbecue pack, including a Weber Q barbie, plus a selection of quality meat from Gordon & Luxton Gourmet Butcher; a $300 dinner voucher for Boucher French Bistro; and $100 in beauty services courtesy of Skin Reveal. So don’t miss out. The school looks forward to welcoming you all. What: Graceville State School fete. When: August 27, 2016, from 6am (Garage Sale) and finishing with the fireworks at 7pm. Where: Graceville State School, 23 Acacia Ave, Graceville, 4075.
