With a change over into the new financial year and the election now behind us all indications are that the property market is continuing to hum along nicely. Buyer sentiment or interest remains strong with the latest figures showing an increase in the number of total transactions across Perth and whilst capital growth remains subdued, particularly when compared to our eastern counterparts, it is expected that this return to confidence from buyers will have an impact on prices over the next six to twelve months. Lending weight to the argument that Perth is on the cusp of a return to strong price growth is the fact that our local infrastructure is the midst of a significant upgrade with billions of dollars being spent on everything from sporting stadiums , roads and lifestyle precincts such as Elizabeth Quay. Interestingly, a recent survey of some buyers delivered some interesting insights into how we go about buying our homes. Not surprisingly, 59% of the respondents said that they initially fell in love with a home purely based on its location. For those who responded in favour of location, 40% wanted easy access to transport options and infrastructure, 29% wanted convenient access to shopping and local amenities and 16% fell in love with the location because it meant living close to family and friends.
