2015, MARKET PLACE REPORT FOR
20 15
PROUDLY PRESENTED BY PAUL EATON 路 0431 599 568 路 pauleaton@eplace.com.au
best way to describe the local market during the back end of this year is ‘humming along nicely’. Unfortunately, we do not have a crystal ball, but our belief is this should remain to be the case in 2016. Buyer demand should remain high due to continued low interest rates, share market volatility and the fact that Brisbane remains more affordable, which should in turn keep pressure on supply (Corinda tends to be quite tightly held anyway). The first 3 months of the year traditionally sees a significant spike in consumer activity on realestate.com.au.
What to expect in 2016 There are always real estate market predictions from so called experts floating around, even more so at this time of year. Many mainstream media reports across the country suggest that the market is starting to cool off, which will continue to be the case in 2016. Various reports are even suggesting there will be a crash. Almost all of these reports, however, are referring to the Sydney and Melbourne markets which have been booming over the past couple of years. Some reports suggest that Sydney has seen a 23%
growth during that time. Looking at the economic landscape from a common sense point of view, surely this kind of explosion upwards is not sustainable and eventually something has to give. In Brisbane, and more specifically in Corinda, we have not experienced that same level of growth. In fact, 2015 saw the local market increase in the order of around 7% across the board which is not only great for home owners, but also more sustainable. The
So if you have had any thoughts on releasing your property, then be sure to give us a call to ensure your property is marketed to make the most of this spike in buyer activity. We will be working over the festive season holiday period so if you require a free market appraisal on your place, or just want some friendly advice, again please contact us. Here’s to 2016!
