Every year in August, I growl, have a few diva moments, break a few dishes and tell myself I’m too old for this. But then I remember people thanking us and telling us how much it means to them, and it makes it all worth it. It’s vital to have positive images of LGBT life. What would you say to potential patrons on the fence about attending?

People have really enjoyed it. I think people who see it have a lot of compassion for the character I play, and a lot of understanding for the arc he goes through in the story. He seems to touch a lot of people, which is good. “It’s been an amazing journey. I’m glad the film is finally getting out there and getting seen by people. Strike a Pose Thursday, Sept. 29, 7 p.m. Out on Film opens its 29th annual festival with a look behind the scenes of one of the most iconic concert tours in history. For her Blond Ambition Tour in 1990, Madonna selected seven young male dancers – six of them gay – to join her on stage. Following a coerced confession, CeCe was incarcerated in a men’s prison. The case generated an international campaign by activists to free CeCe. Retake Sunday, Oct. 2 • 4:35 p.m. Middle-aged businessman Jonathan (Tuc Watkins) comes to San Francisco with a plan: recreate a road trip to the Grand Canyon.
