Half Day of School on Friday - October 24: for Parent-Teacher Conferences. PS & PK - Dismiss at 11:15, Kindergarten-8th grades - Dismiss at 11:30 PRINCIPAL – Mr. Birnbaum: Thank you Kindergarten and First grade for leading our chapel last Wednesday. Seeing you praise God with your hands and voices was a joy. Thank you to all the parents and grandparents that visited also. You are more than welcome to join us every Wednesday. It was also great having representatives from "Habitat for Humanity" let us know how our Chapel Offerings for October are used to help build another house annually in Ponca City. They are always looking for more volunteers 16 years and older to help work a couple of days a week or month to complete the home building projects. This month's chapel offerings will bless this ministry. Lice Check: Tis the season where students start sharing hats, germs, coats, and colds. We can prevent some of this sharing and so next Monday we will be doing a hair check of students to be sure LICE are not showing up in our school. We will do it again the next week to be doubly sure. They like to live in thick hair especially at the nape of the neck. Please go online and find ways to diagnose and prevent lice from infesting your child's life. Child Care: will be opened this Thursday for Fall Break but not enough needed child care on Friday so we will be closed. There is only a half day of school next Friday - October 24 for Report Card Conference. We do NOT expect to be open that day either. This will also be the last week of our Day Care Director McKayla Branson. We thank God for her love for our children and we pray His blessings on her new adventures. Michelle Lester will be temporarily filling the position as needed. Wish List – We praise God for all the projects that have been completed (or are in process) during the past year through a variety of individuals, organizations, and sources. Here is a list of a few of the items: meat slicer; security alarm and camera in Early Childhood; reams of Paper and new copy machine; small basketball uniforms; awning over back of Early Childhood building; woodchips in both the school and Early Childhood playground; push mower; sink and water heater being installed in the concession stand; and the School Debt paid off. All of these were completed through a variety of gifts, donations, and fundraising efforts including but not limited to: Delmar Dixon; Kenny & Michele Jean; Paul & Shelly Schatte; Jim & Janice Stieber; PTL; former and current church members, school families and businesses. We praise God for these gifts. Current Wish List – Now we are looking at raising funds to add a ramp to the West end of the Early Childhood hallway ($6000); replace our used Elementary and Middle School copy machines that are over six years old at $3500 each (or $7000 for two), awning over sidewalk between Middle School and Cafeteria ($8000); Security Entrance Doors into the Elementary and Middle School Building ($5300); Security Monitor System ($4000); replace the North Windows on the Early Childhood classrooms ($???); Preschool age outside play equipment at the Early Childhood Center for $7000 (plus $5000 for wood chips or padding). If you are interested in helping with any of these projects, please contact the school office at 762-9950. BOXTOP CONTEST: Are you saving BoxTops? Our fall contest will conclude at the end of October and we’ll declare a winning class for the most BoxTops brought to school. Please attach them to the form attached at the end of the Chatter, and turn them in to your students’ classrooms. Thanks for helping! THANK YOU: I would like to thank all of those that donated money towards my Eagle project of installing the red school benches and a trash can by the cafeteria. Completing this allowed me to accomplish a life goal of mine and earn the rank of Eagle Scout. I want you to know and think that when you look at or use the benches that you

were a main reason why they are there! PRE-KINDERGARTEN - Mrs. Kelly: Is your child missing a jacket? We have a boys green and tan jacket that has been hanging outside of our classroom for about a week. None of the boys claim it and it is not labeled. Please remember to label all jackets and coats; it helps us to keep them with their owners. Our field trip is tomorrow! Please remember to check in, in our classroom and pick up a map by 8:20. Also bring a sack lunch with a drink. Parent Teacher conferences are next week. Look for the reminder note in backpacks today. Fill out and return to me tomorrow. Fall break is Thursday and Friday! Keep saving those Box Tops and Sunny D labels. Our Bible words are, God is with you wherever you go.
