GIFT CARDS!!!: Whether you give them as gifts, or use them to do your OWN shopping, please come by the school office and purchase some gift cards. The participating retailers sell the cards to the school at a discount, we sell them to you at face value, and the profit is a fundraiser for the school! Also, we have $100 in SEARS Gift cards that we would like to sell. The reorganizing doesn’t affect our local SEARS, and they are definitely still taking the Scrip Cards…so…if you are doing some shopping there, please stop by the office and purchase some cards to use while you are there. KINDERGARTEN-5TH GRADE CHRISTMAS PROGRAM – Mrs. Schelp: K-5th grade students will be participating in the First Lutheran Christmas program on Sunday, December 16 at 6:30pm. PRE-KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Heitman: Congratulations to all the FLS basketball teams for their success at their tournaments this past weekend! Our class has been working hard on learning letters, but that can't stop at school. Letters are everywhere around us! When you're out with your kiddos or even at home looking at the cereal box, search for letters together. You'd be amazed how much just that little bit will improve their letter recognition (and build their love for reading!). Thank you to everyone who has ordered books through our class Scholastic account! I've earned some great new books for our classroom through your support! This Friday is show and tell! Look for your letter about our Christmas party in your child's folder today. Our Bible words this week are "My spirit rejoices in God my Savior" Luke 1:47. KINDERGARTEN – Mrs. Miller: I would like to thank all the parents that made our trip to see "Elf" such a wonderful adventure. We will have show & tell this Friday the 7th. Please continue to send in chapel offering of canned food. Let’s share with those that need our help. If you did not send in a family picture by today; please send it in the in the morning on photo paper not copy paper, it will not work the best. It cannot be returned the same way, it will be altered. Children cannot begin this project without their family picture. Please look in the last Friday Letter for information on our CHRISTmas party and exchange. Peace as we show Love to the people that Christ has placed in our lives. FIFTH GRADE – Mrs. Schatte: Thanks to all who drove on our field trip today. We really appreciate you! Please see my FD Bulletin Board for tests this week. The 6th grade class will be celebrating Christmas with a party on Tuesday, December 18. The class has opted to bring money for a pizza lunch. The cost is $2 per slice. (I will bring soda.) We will also be watching a movie, eating Christmas goodies, and having a gift exchange. If you would like to participate in the gift exchange, please purchase a gift (boys buy boy gifts, girls buy girl gifts), wrap it, and label it "boy" or "girl." The max amount to spend is $10. With only about two weeks left of the second quarter, things are beginning to wind down. The last day I will accept any kind of missing or late work is Thursday, December 13. After that date, "0's" will remain "0's." Do your best to get everything handed in! On Friday, December 15, all classes will be grading their language binders. If for some reason you are leaving early for Christmas Break, you MUST give me your folder before you leave. Please remember that folders are a test grade and if you don't turn it in before you leave, you will receive a "0" for a test grade. Please don't let that -3-

happen! To see upcoming assignment, quiz, and test dates, please check out my webpage at harbolanguage.blogspot.com. That's all for now! Blessings on the rest of your week! Mrs. Hanson: The home stretch! Only 2 more weeks in 1st semester, which is plenty of time to raise grades or keep them up. The major event that will have a huge effect of grades will be the comprehensive science final. Each class will take a final that covers all material learned during 1st semester. We will review and study together plenty in class, but studying will need to be done at home as well. Previous tests, reviews, and vocabulary are the best study tools to use. Our Christmas program has been rescheduled for Dec. 17. We will have a school day performance and an evening performance, during which ALL middle school students will participate. The last day any late work will be accepted is next Wednesday. After this date, no late work will be accepted, graded, or added to the grade book. Ms. Pacey: Welcome to December! This quarter is flying by. Last Friday we were setting up for the Christmas Market, so I cancelled the work day for musical props. Instead, we will work this Friday from 3:30-4:30. We are using Friday to test out one of the cool resources I have learned about in Tec21. We are going to do an online escape room in each class to review what we have learned so far. Let’s make it a great week! Mr. Covert: We’re in December! I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy as we’re getting into that time of year with bugs going around. We’re continuing on in our classes. 8th grade is looking at the social situation in America prior to the Civil War, with the war itself soon. 7th grade is working their way through Western Europe. As for 6th grade, we’re studying ancient India, seeing the contributions they made to the world. I pray that God continues to bless our school family as we work our way through this quarter and continue on in this Advent season. Blessings on your week!
