Please ask your child where they are with their goals, and encourage them to READ! READ! READ! We have less than three weeks left in this quarter! Book Reports: Book reports are due March 12. First He sends us the rain, and now we're enjoying beautiful, sunshiny days! We are blessed! It's a wonderfully regular week here in 5th grade. All students are present and we are carrying on. Please see my FD Bulletin Board for information about the week. Monday after school some students stayed to get homework done and get extra help from me. It was very productive for them and for me. I enjoy working with the kids in an unhurried manner and a relaxed atmosphere. If your child needs extra help or just some quiet time to get homework done, these after school sessions are an excellent way to get it. I enjoy these children so much! They are a joy to work with. :)

I hope you're having an awesome week. God is so good! We've been praying for rain, and he sent it. It also seems that spring has arrived a little early...I'm an Oklahoma girl, so I know that we're not out of the woods yet! Everything is going smoothly in language class. All students are finishing up their Olympic projects (due on Monday, March 5). We are all working on punctuation in grammar, and everyone has received their new novels in literature. and participate in events for a chance to compete for GOLD! Opening ceremony is next Wednesday, March 7. Feel free to join us for this momentous occasion. All classes will be viewing demonstrations for a visual understanding of content this week as well as reinforcing the information outside of class through some interactive videos. Each class will have a chapter quiz this Friday over the content learned since the beginning of the month. Happy Birthday Trinity! (2/27) Mrs. Pacey: Blessings on your day! Algebra has a test this Monday. PreAlgebra and 7th grade (Course 2) have a test Thursday. If you see Savannah Valgora or Kyle King, cheer them on. They will be representing FLS at the state MathCounts competition at the University of Oklahoma this Saturday. Mr. Covert: Inclement weather shortened our already short week by another day last week! It looks like this week will be fine, though, so hopefully we can get in a full week! Since we got our week cut down by another day, our classes didn’t go very far. 8th grade is still working through the Progressive era, and some of the major changes that still have an impact today. In 7th grade, we’re still on our tour of Northern Asia and Siberia. 6th grade is working through Medieval Europe, looking at the government and the rise of the first modern towns and cities. 7th grade parents, remember to fill out the DC sign up form I emailed out on FastDirect a few months ago! I have four families signed up, and I need to start getting a ballpark figure of number of people going so I can start talking with a travel agent about the trip. I pray that God continues to bless our school family as we move through this Lenten season on our way to Easter. Blessings on your week!
