Summer Skills Review Books provide students with a review of materials taught the previous year, and can give them an academic edge and self-confidence when they return to school in the fall. Workbooks available include math and language arts for students in grades PK-7th, pre-algebra, algebra 1, geometry, and high school math books. DANCE! This Friday, April 7, from 6:30-9:00 is the middle school spring dance. You may dress in summer clothes that meet dress code requirements. The student council has chosen the Ponca City Humane Society as their philanthropy project for the semester and will be collecting canned cat food, canned tuna, canned chicken, dog food, non-clumping cat litter, bleach, paper towels, paper plates, plastic spoons, blankets, towels, newspapers, laundry detergent, and toys, etc. as "admittance" to the dance. We will be delivering all donations to the Humane Society later in the month. We hope to see you all at our final dance of the school year! ********************************************** Mrs. Harbeson: Happy ITBS Week! The kids are being troopers, and we're making it through this week of testing. Thank you, Parents, for getting your student to school on time! We have several important dates coming up over the next few weeks. This Friday, April 7, from 6:30-9:00 is the middle school spring dance. You may dress in summer clothes that meet dress code requirements. See the above list of items to be donated to the Ponca City Humane Society. We will be holding a Maundy Thursday chapel service on Thursday, April 13. School will be dismissed before lunch that day. We will not have school Friday, April 14 or Monday, April 17 to celebrate Easter and our Risen Savior! 3
Mid-quarter reports will be sent home on Tuesday, April 19; and the 8th grade trip to OSU is scheduled for Tuesday, April 25. Whew! With all these activities going on, summer will be here before we know it. Keep working hard in all that you do! Blessings to all! Mrs. Pacey: We are in the home stretch! Make sure you eat a good breakfast and get enough sleep for the tail end of the ITBS. Next week we will have a more normal week. Blessings! Mrs. Hanson: Since all classes are in full swing in new content, we will have vocabulary tests the last day of this week. (Remember schedules are funky because of ITBS so some classes "last day" may not be Friday.) We are also going to add a little competition and fun to learning by implementing "Experience Points." Have your student explain the concept to you. If anyone is a little behind already, please try to get caught up this week so we do not get too lost. It's last quarter! Let's end with a BANG! Just a friendly reminder that all important information for science is on my website: hansonscience.blogspot.com Mr. Covert: It’s ITBS week here! I hope that everybody is doing well as we try to navigate this crazy week along with everything else going on at this time of year. We’re going to continue with classes, though with less homework than we usually do. In 8th grade, we’re working through World War I on the European side, and seeing what caused the United States to break their isolationist stance and get involved. 7th grade is working through Brazil, a country so different from the rest of South America it warrants a chapter to itself. In 6th grade, we’re working our way through the Renaissance and Reformation, as we watch the world slowly transform into what we know today. We have one more week until Easter! I pray that God continues to bless this school as we make our way through the rest of Lent and the rest of the school year. Blessings on your week!
