PRINCIPAL – Mr. Birnbaum: WOW! What a busy time. The Hearing Tests were completed last Wednesday. They will come back next month and re-test those that had any difficulties or were absent, then we will let you know the results. We started that morning with the Middle School FLSCA thanks to the arrangements by Tomi Faulkner. We had a wonderful time in the street Thursday evening with Family Fun Night. Thanks again to the PTL, Room Mothers, and everyone for their work and support. We had 120 educators here on Friday-Sep. 19 with an incredible luncheon provided by our AMAZING congregation lead by Trudi Stigge and Cindy Koopman. Jennifer Hoak made amazing cinnamon rolls. Paul and Shelly Schatte provided delicious door prizes. This whole week the 8th graders will be in Washington D.C. Gone for the second half of the week will be the 7th grade to ZooSnooze and 6th grade at Lutherhoma. We also had "Meet Me at the Pole" time of prayer this Wednesday morning arranged by Jennelle Hanson. Our School is truly blessed with incredible people to maintain all of these events. PRE-SCHOOL – Mrs. Herard: Starting to feel like fall! With the cooler mornings, please send jackets for your children with names marked on labels. Little ones get very confused sometimes when trying to identify what is theirs. First field trip of the year is to Rockin’ Farms in Stillwater. Info is in backpacks. It sounds very exciting and should be a fun trip. Field trip money and forms are due back by Oct. 1. We will NOT be taking a bus so please indicate if you are driving and would take other children with you. If you read 5 books to your child and have me sign the slip provided, Freddy's will give them a free mini sundae. Awesome! This week we are learning interesting things about ourselves and our bodies, the letter "E", and the color blue. SHOW & TELL will be TH/F Oct. 2/3! No special theme; just be sure it will fit in their backpacks. Have a great week and stay healthy! God bless. PRE-KINDERGARTEN - Mrs. Kelly: Happy Birthday Braydn! Thank you to the PTL and all of the room moms for a great family fun night! Book orders are in backpacks today and are due back online or to me on Friday, October 3rd. Field trip permission slips are due back by Wednesday, October 1st. Please remember to label all jackets with your child's name. Our Bible words are Remember me, O Lord. Psalm 106:4 Have a blessed week! KINDERGARTEN - Ms. Miller: Wow, autumn is here! Please remember to put your child's name in their jacket. We would like to wish Addie (9-20) and Addison (9-28) a very happy birthday! Field trip forms came home last week on Wednesday and they are due back by Oct. 1st (pumpkin patch and production of velveteen rabbit). This week we are working on the letter and sound of "T, t". Next week our "Book it" program starts on Oct. 1st so please look for this paper but don't start writing down the books you read until Oct. 1st. These books can be books you read to your child, and if you read 20 books your child can get a coupon for a free pizza so read your heart out! Also, please make sure you put the minutes read in your Monday folder. Have a wonderful week and thank you to everyone who worked at Family Fun Night. FIRST GRADE – Mrs. Birnbaum: I pray that all is going well for all of you this week. Memory work for Friday When I am afraid, I will trust in You. Psalm 56:30. Thank you to all of the parents who helped out at Family Fun Night. It was a very fun night! Show and Tell will be on Friday - bring something that will fit in your child's backpack. I will see all of you next week! Blessings! SECOND GRADE – Mrs. Powell: Family Fun Night was GREAT! Thanks so much to Mrs. Vincent and Mrs. Zimmerman and all the other parents who made it possible. Thanks to Mrs. Harland for helping us make a neat pumpkin. We are blessed! Abbie Fike, Rachel Lawson, and Pierce Wagner have already reached their AR goals. Way to GO! We can ALL do this. Let's keep reading! Remember that we will be visiting Leonardo's in Enid on Friday, October 3. We're reviewing our first reading unit and our spelling words are from the first unit. Several of us need a bit more practice at home. Thank you in advance for helping your child succeed. Blessings. . . THIRD GRADE - Mrs. Steichen: Happy Fall!! We are already half way through this first quarter. Everyone is doing a great job. I am so proud of them and all their hard work. This week: Reading: Reading Freckle Juice. You may see questions come home if they do not get finished in class. Spelling: Test on Friday. Math: Test next week. Book Reports: Due October 10th. If you have any questions please let me know. Have a great week!! FOURTH GRADE - Mrs. Sibley: Continue to read at home for AR points; party time is coming around the bend! Lots of kids are putting things up on the wall or getting close to putting things up on the wall. Starting in October we will begin the Book It program by Pizza Hut. Don’t forget about the field trip to PCCA this Friday to continue Rose Hill preparations. FIFTH GRADE - Mrs. Schatte: Wasn't Family Fun Night amazing?! Thanks to all that made it so special. Last Wednesday I sent a note home concerning our October 3 field trip to Leonardo's in Enid. I made a mistake on that note about the time we leave school. We will leave at 8:45 instead of 10:00. We will return by 3:20. Tests this week include spelling, math, language and reading on Friday. In language please review with your child. The test will cover pages 27-41 in the language book. Review all blue boxes on these pages. Subjects and verbs will be covered on this test, as well as most tests in language this year. This week we begin learning the states and capitals of the five
regions of the United States. Monday I assigned the West. Monday, September 29, the children will be quizzed on the states and capitals of this region. Correct spelling of states and capitals is required as well. A study guide was filled out Monday concerning this quiz. It is very important to study for 5-15 minutes daily for tests or quizzes in fifth grade. Trying to cram all the information for a test into one evening usually does not bode well. Blessings on your week.

YOUTH: 7th & 8th grade youth group kick-off night at First Lutheran Church will be Sunday, October 5th! Food, fun, and fellowship from 5:45 to 7:15 PM at the youth house. Feel free to bring a friend! Mrs. Harbeson: Greetings from Camp Lutherhoma! As you read this, the 6th graders, a few brave parents and grandparents, Mrs. Goll, and I are enjoying the great outdoors in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. We are joining fellow Lutheran 6th graders from around the state for three days of outdoor activities, fellowship with friends, and reflection on this beautiful world God has given us. I ask that you keep us, as well as our 7th and 8th graders, in your prayers this week while we are all away from home. God's blessings! Mrs. Hanson: Stand for the Silent, our antibullying club, will be meeting in October to prepare for anti bullying week. All classes can be expecting tests in the next week or two. 6th grade has finished chapter two and will test next week. 7th grade is wrapping up minerals and will have mineral I.D. quiz next week. 8th grade will finish chapter two next week and test the week after. Mrs. Goll: I just love FLS. What a great Family Fun Night we had—thanks to much effort by our PTL coordinators, room parents, and all! The teachers’ conference was uplifting and refreshing! What a joy to meet with over 100 Oklahoma Lutheran educators! And this week, all of the middle school students are having amazing field trip experiences. We are so blessed to be part of a thriving educational community. Most math classes will be testing toward the middle or the end of next week. Ask your student when his test will be. Continue to seek Him first! Mr. Covert: Hello from Washington DC! The trip is in full swing, and we’ve already seen and learned so much, which so much else to do and see! While the 8th grade is learning about the nation’s capital, the 7th graders are making maps and the 6th graders are working on timelines, sharpening some basic skills. Upon our return, the 8th grade will start working on their project, and after that we’ll hit the material hard to make up for lost time. It was time well spent, though! I hope everyone is having a good week! God’s blessings on the rest of it!
Greetings from 8th Grade/Washington D.C.!
