Cover Story

Passionate Times with Zayra By ShaylaKristen

Talking to her she has the sound of a sweet person, has an accent that is noticeable to the American ear and a spirit that is high even though she is working hard on her video for her next single. The “Baby Likes to Bang” or the “VIP” singer gives a few moments of her time to David Magazine to share her excitement for her string of Atlanta Club performances, she gives details about her next video and how she wants her music to be received by the public. With the exposure of reality television Supernova over for Zayra, she is now focused on moving on beyond the drama of the show and the isolation of being involved with reality television. Though the show taught her how to be a better artist, taught her how to be a better performer and taught her how to be the best person she can be, the competition with new friends can be hard. A painful process to be in a bubble with other peers of music, an experience that she describes as “awesome and weird at the same time,” but an experience that taught her more about herself than she could possibly imagine. A Puerto Rico native with a wide range of musical influences, her choice and style of music covers it all. Naming names such as the Bee Gees, Celia Cruz, La Lupe, Michael Jackson, Madonna and anything pop- Zayra is going to be bringing to the music scene an eclectic vision of music. By wanting her 28 davidatlanta

music “to do want music is supposed to do,” which is acknowledge that music is a mood changer, she puts her all into her music. Zayra wants her music to become a part of you and your moment, to make her music accompany the special events in life and of course she wants her music to be something that the listeners can jam too. As she is describing her sound and what her music is to people her sweetness returns and Zayra states that “she is often surprised that people like to listen to her music and that it is an honor for others to listen and appreciate her music.” She makes this statement because like any artist, she questions the appeal her music has. Laughing this comment off you realize that music is for her, that with music she is fluid and that no matter the size of the audience she will always be a performer. A true performer knows that it is the visual story that is told, that what they see is what brings your audience in, a true performer has qualities that are unmatched when on the stage, and Zayra is a performer who can be described as such. A description of an outgoing, creative, fashion lover, who is dramatic, can be exciting to watch on the screen or the stage and with all those combinations plus an exciting passion for what you do is how Zayra the way a performer is. In her videos you can see that she is driven to give an excellent show with a

storyline that plays out like a movie. With her first love being dance, you can imagine that life for Zayra, on the stage, is a dream and that performing her songs are what makes the visual for her fans easy to understand the way the mood of her music is pushing them into. Her music is pushing them into a freedom that moves the body in ways that only make sense in the listeners mind. Considered dance pop music, that is exactly you feel like doing when her music pops onespecially the song “VIP.” The video for VIP begins with usual stills of a woman who shows too much skin and looks like she posing for prettiest girl in the world, but then the music starts and you understand the mood. When the beat comes on she transforms into this power house of beauty, confidence, and has a dramatic passion for whatever is going on in the video. Dancing in moves that are powerful, daring and hard to look away from this video reminds the viewers of what Madonna would have done in the early 1990’s. But she is not the next Madonna, Zayra can not and will not be pushed into a box of stereotype-her definition is unique. Her next video will be a continuation of the storyline from “VIP” her next single is going to be the title track from her album, which is available on ITunes now, http://bit.lylzaryaitunes. In her next video the singer will be involved in an action

packed mini-movie drama-which she says will explain the concept of the “VIP” video. A dancer first, then singing overtook her, Zayra, is a true musician performer. Zayra writes all of her music and produces them as well. From the final sounds hitting the internet and streets, she can continue to do this because the sound, which is so infectious, brings the crowd to their feet. Capturing what the essence is of music, Zayra is showing with her creativity, her energy and her spirit, that music is moves people. Zayra wants to bring back what music meant to her growing up and that is simply that music is supposed to make people feel deep down to the soul. She wants her music to be able to take you away from the present and into a place where you actually are free. Listening to those infectious beats and the lyrics, Zayra will continue to climb the charts and gain fans. For her time in Atlanta she will be performing at a series of nightclubs, with fashions that will excite the crowd for her mesmerizing dance moves. Zayra is excited for the opportunity to perform during Gay Pride in Atlanta and hopes that the crowd will be exciting, colorful and have a blast dancing to “VIP.” Her performance at the iLounge on Sunday, October 10, 2010, will be brought to you by m2m6 productions, Torren Moore, Barry Brandon & Productions, Southern Voice and David Magazine. 29 davidatlanta

La Nota Rosa

¡Arriba las jotitas! by Luis Chiruco

The Brent Star Report

Where do Bisexuals Party?

I’ve forgotten that this place looks like the inside of Frankenstein’s castle—with the huge grey stones on the wall, the oversize thick wooden doors that the townspeople go in and out of, and of course it’s polluted with darkness and the whole ‘Goth’ scene. But there are no monsters here, just a bunch of happy go lucky people despite the dark gear, eye liners, and str8 looking menses…I was informed that most of them are bisexuals. Hmmmm. I wonder what THEY do for pride since they’re half gay. Do they attend ‘half’ of the events, do they only have 3 colors on their rainbow flags? It doesn’t matter because I’m here to have a good time. I’m at the Masquerade. Every Thursday, they have OLD WAVE night in which they play a lot of old school music mainly from the 80’s. I’m in awe for two things: one, this place is still jumping after 15 years of having this night (it started shortly after this place open) and the $2.50 Long Island dranks you can get all night long. I’ve heard Madonna’s Vogue a thousand times, but not this super sonic remix. I’m feeling it right now! Wait…did that str8 looking dude just wink at me? In this place, it’s really hard to tell who’s gay or str8. You just go with the flow. Speaking of which, after my 2nd Long Island, I decided to talk to the former Dj of Blakes, the Red Chair, Spark, and Triple Play to name a few, Dj Chris Kind…. Brent: (yelling) Chris! Chris! Chris: (wearing huge earphones like a pilot) Hey Mr. Star! Hold on for a second! (he changes the music to another remix—this one was of Depeche Mode’s I Promise—I love that song!). How’s it going? Brent: Great! I see you’re busy. Just wanted to talk for like 2 minutes before you have to change songs, so what’s the secret to the success of this night? Chris: Many factors. I came aboard 4 years ago and from what I can see, it’s probably because of how laid back the crowd is, no one judge you here, the fact that this is one of the only clubs around that’s 18 and up, and of course the music! Brent: And the $2.50 Long Island Teas! So what do you think changed since they started? Chris: Surprisingly, not a lot. If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it. But in recent years, we hired Chris Dorsh, the light tech from Backstreets, to run the light show that you see. Brent: Yea, it’s more fun than the laser show at Stone Mountain Chris: And I also play alternative 80s music like 36 davidatlanta

Depeche mode, New Order, etc. I also do indie rock like the Presets, Cut copy, Garbage, Simple Minds, and of course I throw some alt house music. Brent: oh ok, and what’s going on in the room across the hall? Chris: That’s Dj Colby playing Booty Shake music---everything from Black Eyed Peas to Rick James to…hold on, I gotta change the music Brent: take your time Chris, we’ll talk later Yea, it was time for me to get another cocktail, plus I just saw two hot Chris Brown looking dudes walk over there into the ‘booty shake’ room. I followed. Speaking of Chris, his song “Transform you” is being played. And I see quite a few “snacks” in this room that need to be ‘transformed’…wait a minute, what are they doing?? Child these boys (about 10 of them), wearing old Kangol hats that LL Cool J used to wear, are in a semi circle having a ‘dance off’! It reminds me of what the kids used to do at Traxx when they had ‘vogue battles’! But they ain’t vogue-ing…umm….they’re ‘break dancing’ , doing ‘The Wave’ and ‘The Robot’. This is so cute! It’s like watching the gang from Michael Jackson’s BEAT IT video ---but being gay…well, actually they’re not REALLY doing anything gay…but hell I am. Me and this other random punk I met tonight are taking turns WALKING for the kids!!! This is too much fun and no one cares how anyone’s dressed, how anyone dances, or whatever. Good, because I flirted with all of them and they flirted back. I didn’t get any numbers because I really didn’t care. I mean, I’ll flirt but I don’t chase str8 boys. And tonight, I just wanted to get lost in the beats at this point. I went back to the other side to hear some more 80s and they’re playing one of my favorite songs, DON’T STOP BELIEVING. And on that note, I’ll chat with you next week. Thanks for reading. OH, and shout outs to new comer Mimi Simone for doing her thing at Shawnna Brooks’s show and to one of my favorite bartenders, Dan, at Blakes who’s always busy and slinging dranks! Until next week, don’t read the girls, instead read The Brent Star Report! Where to catch Brent Star: The Parade and Starlight Show on Sunday, Tuesdays at SHOUT, Saturdays at Tijuana Garage, Thursdays and Sundays once a month at Burkharts an d everywhere else that pays!

Dear Momma MonaNeed advice from your medical staff of experts. Over the last couple of years I’ve gotten myself back into shape and taking pride back into my body again. And with this, there comes the issue of self grooming/ manscaping of one’s physique since I’m a hairy boy. Upon trimming upon the ballsack, I’ve taken a few minor nicks over the years trying to keep the boys trimmed. What I’ve notice recently is where those little nicks have occur and healed, is what looks like small pinhead sized blood clots that have formed. Which makes my ballsack little gross to look at. Question here is, what does your medical staff of physicians state can be done to rid oneself of these small nuisances on the ballsack area once the damage has been done? Thank You, Zane Dear Zane

My Best, Momma Mona 66 davidatlanta

I love reading your column - the stories always make me smile! I wanted to tell you about my mom. If you ever find yourself (probably lost) in Albany, Georgia on a Sunday morning, you could stop by the only Southern Baptist Church named after one of the main roads through the “city.” Without a doubt, she would be on the third row; the best dressed 5 foot blonde in the building, always decked out with her fabulous dresses and stylish pumps. She’s probably raising her hands while the cheap speaker system blares badly recorded music and the “large” woman on stage is singing (yelling) in the mic that is about half an inch from her mouth. But then one weekend a month, you can find her here, in the city. She’ll be at Phipps, touring Atlantic Station, trying out new restaurants, or at her favorite place - The “Fabulous” Fox. She’s surrounded by gay men; me (her son), Eric and Brad (her high school boyfriend and his partner that live here), all of my friends that she’s so warmly grown close to, and of course the lesbian population that has migrated to Atlanta from Albany that are friends of the family. My point is that she is wide open. She loves God, she loves her southern church, but she also has a great passion for people; including A LOT of gays and lesbians! She is always encouraging me to get involved in human rights and the gay movement, even though I tell her it’s not my style. She is more interested in the issues that face the homosexual community than I am, and when I think about the way that she cares, it makes me wonder where she gets it from. Small town, small minded people exist. But there are also people out there trying to change that image. My mom does not want to move to Atlanta; she’s very comfortable where she is; she loves her life, and that is what makes the difference to me. She has always told me “It’s not about where you are, but about who you are with and what you chose to do with what you have.” Thanks again for all you do! Kevin Dear Kevin, What a delight to hear about your mother! She certainly breaks the stereotype of someone from a small southern town as far as being totally open and accepting of the gay community. I especially love hearing about the amount of love she has inside of her for everyone. I know you are more than proud and from your writing it is obvious that you, too, have much love within you. The

apple does not fall far from the tree! Please pass my accolades on to her, a totally awesome woman! Thank you for writing in to share your story! Momma Mona

How yuck! But, no worries. I spoke with a doctor and he says they are most likely small Cherry Angiomas (small collection of blood vessels) and they can be easily be laser-ed off. He recommends laser hair removal instead of shaving. Wikipedia describes the characteristics: “Cherry angiomas are made up of clusters of tiny capillaries on the surface of the skin, forming a small round dome (“papule”), which may be flat topped. They range in color from bright red to purple. When they first develop, they may be only a tenth of a millimeter in diameter and almost flat, appearing as small red dots. However, they then usually grow to about one or two millimeters across, and sometimes to a centimeter or more in diameter. As they grow larger, they tend to expand in thickness, and may take on the raised and rounded shape of a dome. Multiple adjoining angiomas are said to form a polypoid angioma. Because the blood vessels comprising an angioma are so close to the skin’s surface, cherry angiomas may bleed profusely if they are injured.” http:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherry_angioma Since they have a tendency to grow with age and may become malignant (rarely), you might want to make that appointment sooner than later. Check out all the doctor ads in David magazine to find one close to you.

Atlanta A-Z

by David C. Muller

EPISODE SEVENTEEN:

S is for Southern Gothic Once upon a time Luke went to a palm reader in Gwinnett County. The palm reader told him, “You must move to Atlanta, Luke, for you will find love there.”

Vesuvius St. Rene had to be careful and exacting as he made his way from his dwelling in the Garden District. Due to an extreme aversion to the October sun, Vesuvius St. Rene preferred to travel by Greyhound bus and only at night. He traveled short distances; on the first night, he stopped in Hattiesburg in the morning. On the second night, he stopped in Meridian. On the third night, he crossed the state line and came into Alabama just before dawn. He stopped in Tuscaloosa and, on the fourth night, Vesuvius St. Rene finally arrived in Atlanta; he breezed in on I-20 and came up into Midtown via the Downtown Connector. On the fifth night, Friday night, at the start of Gay Pride Weekend in Atlanta, Vesuvius St. Rene set out to meet Luke. He had never met Luke before; up until last week, when he received a fateful phone call from Georgia, Vesuvius had never even heard of Luke but, nevertheless, he knew exactly where to find him and find him he did…. Vesuvius found Luke at the official Atlanta Gay Pride Kickoff Party when they stood side-by-side at the urinal in the bathroom at the Georgia Aquarium. Vesuvius glanced over the partition to sneak a peek at Luke’s manhood. His first line of dialogue was: “You’ve got some hairy balls 74 davidatlanta

down there; don’t you?” Luke had sudden difficulty completing his stream of urination; he turned his head in annoyance, “Don’t look at my balls. I absolutely hate it when guys look at my balls like that!” “Does it offend you that I look at your balls at all?” Luke zipped up his fly as he stepped back from the toilet, “In polite society we usually exchange names and pleasantries before we go commenting on our genitalia.” Vesuvius said his name and went to the sink to wash his hands, “And you’re name is Luke, you came back to Atlanta about three months ago but you’re not new here.” “Vesuvius?” Luke asked, “You mean, like, the mountain?” “Yes, that’s the one.” Vesuvius snapped his fingers, “I was named after a dormant volcano in Italy.” “How did you know my name?” “I have my sources.” “Who are you?” Luke leered at Vesuvius, “You’re not from around here, are you?”

“You’re right. I’m not from Atlanta.” Luke pursed his lips; he asked himself, ‘Who the hell names their kid ‘Vesuvius’?’ Luke looked the man up and down and, even to the jaded eyes of Luke, it was clear that Vesuvius St. Rene was good looking… so refined; Luke wanted to know what was going on in his mind. He was a man of elegant, timeless charm and his Southern drawl was as deep and dark and as thick as a brogue. Vesuvius smelt masculine, he was minted with lust and musk. Luke lightened up, he smiled flirtatiously as he held open the door to the bathroom, “You want to buy me a drink?” At the bar, Luke ordered a libation called a “Midori sour” which he drank completely in less than eight seconds. Vesuvius could tell Luke drank a lot, he showed all the signs of a youthful, graduated alcoholic. “Maybe you should slow down with that. “ Vesuvius said, “You get too drunk you never know who you end up going home with.” “Don’t be ridiculous.” Luke belched, “Can I have another?” Luke got another drink from the bartender and said, “You’re pretty hot, even if you have a weird name.” Luke finished off his second Midori sour, “What brings you to Atlanta?” “I wanted to meet you, Luke.” “Me?” Luke asked, “Why me?” “You’re kind of famous.” Vesuvius said, “I hear your story appears weekly in some magazine up here in Midtown.”

ATLANTA

AtoZ

“Who told you that horseshit?” Luke motioned to the bartender to bring him another beverage. “I don’t appear in any magazine anywhere.” Vesuvius smiled, “You’re just so cute. I’d like to take you out to dinner and get to know you better, Luke.” Luke finished off his third drink, “You like Chinese food?” “Sure, it’s okay. I have a very strict diet but, if you like Chinese food, we can go to a Chinese restaurant.” “I like Mexican food.” Luke said, “I love tacos and margaritas.” Vesuvius said, “We can have tacos, then.” “Great,” said Luke. “What are you doing on Wednesday?” “On Wednesday!?!?” Vesuvius St. Rene said, “I was hoping I wouldn’t have to wait that long!” Tune in next week to see special guest star ‘Vesuvius St. Rene’ in… EPISODE EIGHTEEN: “T is for Taco Night at Tripp’s”

Drag Time

Latest and Greatest Drag News By Makaila Andrews

It’s pride time in the city, and for one short event filled weekend, all is well in Gaylanta. I, for one, am very excited about the weekends festivities. My personal pride wish is for everyone to gather a new sense of unity, and stop the madness that has been plaguing people everywhere. This contagious virus I am talking about is hatred. It seems as though of late, our community, as a whole, has really been dividing themselves, and battling it out against each other. I feel like I have been watching a modern day version of West Side Story. At any rate, with all this being said, I guess what I am really trying to say is, United We Stand, Separated We Fall! I just recently acquired some news, that a couple of queens in the city are grossly upset, that little ole’ me, is a writer for David Magazine. For professional reasons, I shall not name any names, but I do have a message for Miss Hammer Toes and Miss Thunder Nipples. I really am not sure why, but the last time I checked, one of you did not make it past round two of a nationally televised competition, and the other feels as though a fat suit is going to hide her already large body and talentless soul. You two are classic, stating that I am not a real drag queen, well, guess what honey, you are right, I am actually a drag artist! In closing, I do not have any respect for either of you, jealousy flatters me, and if you are talking about me, I must be doing something right! Moving on, I would like to send my prayers and hopes with my girl Tahjee Iman, may the sky be the limit, and may God ever bless you on this Journey! She is competing this week for Miss US of A at Large, proudly representing Miss Indiana US of A at Large. You go get that crown, Lady! There are pageants everywhere, if you wanna see one, just check out David Atlanta and Facebook for informative fliers and advertisements. Welcome to the stage, Makaila’s drag resource pick of the week, Queens Inc. Jewelry. I befriended this guy on facebook, and honey let me tell you, every girl loves big sparkling jewelry, and he has it. All his jewelry is handmade for the most part, and very, very, affordable. This site has everything from single pieces, full pageant sets, and custom orders. The creator is fast and efficient, and produces some absolutely fantastic stuff.

Drag Artist of the Week

Due to some complications in printing, I have chosen to re-run this featured artist! Enjoy! This weeks featured artist is the amazing Monica Van Pelt. Monica is a 36 years young veteran to the art of drag. She was born in Baytown, Texas, but was raised all over the United States, you see, she is what we all know as a military brat. Her father was in service, and work many hours away from home, so Miss Monica drew inspiration, love, and support from her beautiful and strong mother. Her mother taught her and her sister the right and wrongs of life, and instilled into their hearts how to be strong and proud individuals. At the tender age of 17, Monica begin her career as a drag artist, for her, it was a way to get into gay clubs, but without a doubt, it turned out to be a much great passion and desire. At 20 years old, she began seriously pushing forward with her art, ever changing, and ever growing as time went on. Each time she applies a new face, creates a new costume, or rehearses a new song, Monica says there is truly something to be learned. MVP’s most proud success was back in 2001, when she won the title of Miss National at Large 2001-2002. This position allowed her the opportunity to entertain the masses all across the United States, and gave her some of her fondest memories of her art. Another great success that I should not fail to mention is for 4 seasons, Miss Van Pelt cohosted Mouth of the South Live. Currently residing in Atlanta, Monica took a few years off, and has recently began her come back to the spotlight. She has been performing throughout the southeast and is co-hosting Wild Wednesdays at the New Lebuzz in Marietta. As far as future endeavor, be on the look out, Monica believes in spontaneity, there is absolutely no telling where you might find her. In conclusion, Miss Monica Van Pelt would like to send the greatest of thanks to all who have supported, and believed in her, and would like to give all the new girls out there just a small bit of advice, “Pay attention, you never know who might be watching you, so always put your best foot forward!”

Adult Spotlight

Jason Pitt has made a career exposing himself. But earlier this month when the 21-year old adult film star announced that his next movie will be his last, he issued a statement on his website, www. jasonpittxxx.com, that exposed the dark side of porn. In it, he wrote: “I no longer want to be in an industry that doesn’t care. I no longer want to be the person who goes to events and watches other entertainers/models get plastered and high on drugs… This industry is getting worse… sloppy and unsafe… Studios are using pretty much anyone who walks in off the streets. More and more people that I know and are close to are turning up positive. I see very few models who actually have a plan for their future…” It was a hard blow (pun intended) to an industry that is already struggling with decreased sales due to the down economy and the nuisance of online pirating. The glory days when lots of sex equaled lots of money have ended and many now wonder if the sizzle has fizzled in porn. We spoke with the heads of three leading studios Gary Blumenthal from OntheHUNT.com and Maverickmen.com, Michael Lucas from LucasEntertainment.com and lawyerturned-lesbian pornstress Jincey Lumpkin who recently launched the first by-ladies-forladies studio JuicyPinkBox.com. Times may be tough in porn but they all contend there is still lotsa siz in The Biz. What is the state of porn today? Jincey Lumpkin: It’s pretty gross. It’s sort of like American fast food: cheaply made for quick consumption, but with little substance. Michael Lucas: On the flip side, the flood of cheap content makes it difficult to find decent porn for free and that helps studios like Lucas Entertainment. 82 davidatlanta

What’s hurting the porn biz? Gary Blumenthal: For years, the industry felt it was impervious to economic conditions. This recent recession has proven that false. Porn is a luxury item. When people don’t have disposable income, less porn is purchased. Michael Lucas: Our sales continue to increase 20% year on year. Is piracy a problem? Jincey Lumpkin: Piracy is a huge problem. Gary Blumenthal: In my opinion, piracy is the most major issue right now. It is so easy to download movies for free now and that impacts membership sales. What is the biggest misconception about porn? Michael Lucas: That it’s all about hot boys and hot sex. Some of it is, but most of it is just business like any other business. How do you feel about gay-for-pay porn stars (straight actors engaging in gay sex acts onscreen for money)? Jincey Lumpkin: Juicy Pink Box doesn’t do it. No fake tits either. It makes our job harder as girl on girl porn is predominantly gay-for-pay. We encompass a wide range of female beauty, from more feminine to more masculine women. Our films are realistic and sexy with an eye toward maintaining aesthetic standards. Has the sizzle fizzled in porn? Jincey Lumpkin: There is still plenty of sizzle in the hizzle. New talent and new studios are creating a different kind of porn. Competition has decreased in the last few years. There are fewer porn studios. Gary Blumenthal: The industry is cyclical. What was hot last year will not be hot this year but may be hot again next year. There will always be a place for porn but studios need to keep up with the wants of their viewing public. Where have studios gone wrong? Jincey Lumpkin: Today’s studios have boiled sex down to a few sex acts played out in the same scenarios over and over. The over-the-top cum shots and orgasm screaming is just not realistic. Continued on page 106

BIG MAN ON CAMPUS Brandon Lewis at Club One By Jim Nelson

Brandon Lewis may be new to porn but he’s proving himself a quick learner. Meet him inperson when he hosts Manhunt’s “Big Man on Campus Tour” at Club one in Savannah on October 15th. Why were you chosen to be a part of Manhunt’s “Big Man on Campus Tour”? I shot a film on their amateur site, OntheHUNT. com. I guess people liked me because Manhunt asked me to headline their Savannah party. Are you still in college? Not right now. I played baseball in college and suffered an elbow surgery. I was supposed to go back but I’ve been kinda busy with my new job in film. Did you ever invite a man you met on Manhunt back to your dorm? I didn’t know about Manhunt until after college when my buddy Austin Wild introduced me to it. What’s the craziest sex-act you’ve done in your dorm? Let’s just say it involved a few people.

Did you ever wake up naked in a frat house? I hated frat guys. I’ve never been to a frat party. I preferred to play with guys I found on campus. How did you get started in adult films? A random guy e-mailed me on Myspace asking me if I would jack off in front of a camera. One thing led to another. Will this be your first time at Club One? Yes. I’ve been to Savannah a few times but I’ve never gone to any of their clubs. How will you spend your down time in Savannah? I will try to get a dinner date with Lady Chablis. Any new releases coming up? I just signed a three-year contract with Nextdoor Studios so I’ll be coming out with new films early in the new year. Look for me! Visit Manhunt.com. You may be bitchy, but you’re getting a heck of a lot done -- so your colleagues and family members should leave you alone. It’s one of those weeks when you might finally finish off that to-do list. Your communication style is especially effective right now, so make sure that you’re on the horn or broadcasting your message in some other way. People are sure to be listening carefully and liking what they hear. Your thoughts are muddled for now -- much more so than usual -- and you may have to take a pass when someone asks you how it’s going. That’s weird for you, but this phase shouldn’t last too long. Your own needs are paramount right now, even if it feels like your family is more troubled than you are. They can deal while you focus on making yourself into the best possible relative. You’ve got your big personality somewhat under wraps, for now, though that doesn’t mean you’re depressed or shy -- just that you know that some of your peers need you to settle down! Your organizational skills are legendary, so bust them out and help your people get ready for what’s coming. It may be time for you to get together with the right people in your life and try something new. Forget about the big picture -- it’s life’s little pleasures that really get you going. You might need to remind other people to see things the same way, in order to ensure that everyone stays happy. You don't always have to be in control of every situation -- your energy now actually requires that you let go a little, in fact. See if your peers can take over some aspects of this week’s work. Your energy is a bit out of sync with the rest of the world right now, but that doesn’t mean you need to hide yourself away. If anything, you may need to point out how friends or family are going wrong. Your people are all over the place emotionally -- but you don’t have to try to follow after them! Your own energy is more grounded, so see if you can just lead by example until they calm down. How much exercise do you get? Unless you run marathons or juggle sports teams, you might feel like you’re not getting enough lately. So make an effort to, well, make an effort. Get sweaty! Your emotional state is as strong as can be, and it’s a great time to share your feelings with the right person or people. Some might not be able to handle the honesty, but you can sway them eventually.

Protect Your Monster

Adult Spotlight CONTINUED Quite frankly, I think this fake sex has become so pervasive that it has sadly crept its way into bedrooms across the country. What do your customers want in their porn? Jincey Lumpkin: A real connection between sexy women. We give them that sensual interaction and present it in a way that still maintains a sense of fantasy to create a cinematic, elevated experience. Gary Blumenthal: Our customers want to see hot guys enjoying themselves. They want to feel like a fly on the wall inside someone’s bedroom. Michael Lucas: They love our stars, they love sex that has chemistry and they love our Raunch line. How important is quality in porn? Michael Lucas: It’s the only way to survive, if you want to make money. Jincey Lumpkin: We have a 100% commitment to quality. It’s what makes our movies stand out. Our customers want the juicy steak, not the crappy hamburger. Gary Blumenthal: My definition of quality is fidelity to your niche or concept. As long as you keep producing what your members want, you are producing quality porn. Is amateur porn a fad or a growing industry? Gary Blumenthal: Definitely growing. We recently launched Maverickmen.com starring the top favorited couple on Xtube. It has been wildly successful proving that consumers really want to see real amateur porn. Jincey Lumpkin: At the core, we all desire something real and genuine. Even if it’s not glamorous, amateur porn is usually real. Do you think amateurs may one day trump studio porn? Jincey Lumpkin: Technology has certainly made it easier for people to make their own home movies. But here’s the thing. We love to watch peoples’ Youtube videos of their cutesy kids and cats, but we don’t pay for that. What we do pay for are the big-budget Hollywood movies. So, while amateur might not go away, it’s not going to trump a sexy, well produced porn. How important are marquis names in a porn film? Gary Blumenthal: There are so many smaller studios. It’s not like the old days of big name porn stars. Do stars still hold the power they used to? Jincey Lumpkin: Celebrity is an important part of our culture, and it’s no different in porn. Each star has a certain way of approaching sex; his or her unique way of experiencing sex and giving pleasure. I’m always trying to find and cultivate new stars. Is it important for stars to create their own niche? Jincey Lumpkin: For sure. To cultivate a following, they need to offer something that makes them stand out from the crowd. Syd Blakovich, for example, has become known for something as simple as kissing down the women’s backs and sort of breathing her way across the ass with her lips. It’s amazingly hot. She does 106 davidatlanta

it because that turns her on, and it turns on her costar. Those natural quirks make her memorable. Michael Lucas: There are more stars in porn and therefore their power diffuses. Porn star Jason Pitt recently announced he’s quitting the adult industry because he feels studios aren’t doing enough to keep their stars safe against stds. How do you respond? Jincey Lumpkin: Health and safety of our stars is a priority. For partner scenes, we require up-to-date full STD panel testing. Once we know that everyone has a clean bill of health, we let the stars negotiate their safe sex requirements. Also, I always buy new sex toys, and I let the stars keep them after each scene or we discard them. We do not recycle them for another scene. Michael Lucas: If every gay man had sex the way we do on our sets, the HIV epidemic among gay men would be over. Gary Blumenthal: It is the responsibility of both the actors and the studios to keep themselves safe. What does the future have in store for porn? Jincey Lumpkin: 3D is a big trend right now. At the AVN Expo in Vegas this past year I saw some really interesting gadgets that allow for mobile phone 3D porn. I am looking into 3D for Juicy Pink Box. Clearly I don’t want it to be a gimmick, so it has to be incorporated in a chic way. There is also a trend toward interactivity. Michael Lucas: I don’t think there is any single great idea floating around. There are a lot of interesting ideas and every company will have to knit them together in a way that makes sense for their company. What exciting new releases can we expect to see soon from your studio? Jincey Lumpkin: We just released “Therapy”, a series of solo-masturbation scenes that take place in a therapist’s office. I am the therapist, but I am off-screen asking questions. The women are playing different versions of myself. We talk in an impromptu dialog about feelings, fears and fantasies. We get to explore what turns them on in a way that exposes intense expression for the women. Mega mega hot. Very soon all of our titles will be available on DVD in stores in addition to streaming. Check out the site- we have a three day trial for a mere $5. Gary Blumenthal: As always we hope to grow the Onthehunt.com website and at the same time introduce people to what we consider is a new level of amateur porn in the Maverickmen.com website.

Visit OntheHunt.com, Maverickmen.com, LucasEntertainment.com and JuicyPinkBox.com.

Bitch Session If you want to create and thrive on drama that is your misery, not mine. Don’t insult me by saying you respect me, but continually bring drama into my life.

If I see one more pair of non-prescribed Urkellike eyeglasses I am going to vomit and take my own life. When did drag become underwear modeling? Anybody can go buy a bra and panty from the store and call it drag. I am currently outside the perimeter trailer trash, but soon will be inside the perimeter high rise trash. To the D.L crowd and the curious: Be upfront about your status. Waiting to tell me until that part where your spouse shows up screaming “That’s my man!” is considered bad form. I know I speak for all women when I say down low homos should be exposed for their common ways. Karma’s a bitch. You sports jersey queers, celibacy and divorce are imminent. I’m going to ask my city council representative to introduce a bill banning the sale of eyebrow tweezers to gay men. Come on, guys! Do you really think your pencil-thin, obviously tweezed, girly eyebrows are attractive? I don’t care that you are a “gay surfer.” You want us to believe that you are somehow special because you hang with the straight guys. Not so much! If you go home with a couple for the purpose of having sex, you don’t have the right to be angry when they don’t speak to you in public. I have had it with straight people who say they have no problem with gay people but are quick to use the word “faggot” or “dyke” when describing a gay person.

110 davidatlanta

Just because we are fortunate enough to live near gay bars, does that mean we should be so unfortunate as to be denied sleep? People always bitch about my $400 Prada shoes out of jealousy, but no one says a word about my $1,000 Versace leather jacket.

Before gay men feel the need to get married, they should understand what marriage means, and no, it doesn’t mean “married, but plays well with others.” I hate you for not having the strength to love me. My privates are tucked away in clean underwear; that’s why I wash my hands before I pee. Why does every ugly straight girl I meet think I want her just because I am cordial? I mean it’s not like they are Angelina, for goodness sake. Please try to smile, even though you masturbate several times a day. I hate that our sexual activities are considered a fetish. Why can’t straight people admit that we’re just as normal as they are? Hasn’t anyone realized that while we bitch about sex, drugs and fashion, rich conservatives are fight to make sure we remain second-class citizens? Gay men should learn martial arts, carry weapons and learn to use them instead of always running away like chickens when faced with homophobic slurs. It’s because so many gay people are known to flee that the bastards attack us in the first place! I really liked your looks and personality, and I really thought we “meshed” well. But I had to drop you when you lied about your age.
