During my apprenticeship at Madri Woodworking I designed and built custom cabinets to house speakers for a piano. The primary focus was on acoustics, but the speakers had to compliment the existing design of the room. Though I enjoyed the extensive research required for the job, I was most excited by the successful execution of my first design-build process. My tasks began with modeling the design of the cabinets and putting together a timeline of work for our team. This process entailed drafting the orders for materials, cutlist measurements, and joinery details. With a set of finished cabinets we installed and ran the electrical to complete the project.
