aturally, most if not all of us want and crave for something better than we currently have. It is all part of us if we want a bigger Car, a better house, buying good things for the family and travelling around the world. We keep hoping for more but we should realize that; in order to get what we don’t have, we have to do something we have never done before. That simply means; we can’t afford to continue to do the same thing in the same way and expect to get a different result, in fact, that is ‘insanity’ in its tangible form. As an employee, you can’t stay at the same job forever and hope that a miracle will happen and your boss will suddenly give you a raise. You will be lucky that there is no downsizing in your company. You keep on increasing the hours just to win the rat race, but in the end of the day, you are still a rat on the mill! Increasing your wages only puts you in a higher tax bracket. Your salaries increase but so does your expenses on your house and car. You see, there are many ideas of what people think money is. Some say “it is a form of measurement”. Yes, but a measurement of what? In the olden days, people measured wealth by how many cows, sheep, and horses they had. But do people measure wealth today by your cows and horses? How about slaves? Was there a time where manpower is considered a hot commodity? Are slaves worth anything today? Are your dollar bills sitting in the bank going to protect you if a recession strikes the Country? No, wealth cannot be measured by the dollar bill. Some say “it is a form of power”. Yes, money can give you power, but wait a minute, if you are stuck on a desert island forever with a

I have heard teachers describe prayer as “communication” or “dialogue” and many other terminologies”
I
n my few years of learning and teaching the subject of prayer, I have come across many definitions. As a matter of fact, some of us as teachers have made the subject of prayer very boring, uninteresting and tasking for those that are yet to discover the
simplicity of prayer. I have heard teachers describe prayer as “communication” or “dialogue” and many other terminologies. Experts in Theology have not made things easier and in our attempt to explain divinity to humanity, we have confused humanity especially in the area of prayer. Whilst I was growing up in the faith, I read many books, attended many prayer schools but my eagerness to discover what prayer is did not stop until the greatest Prayer Warrior explained it to me. I am not attempting to underestimate the importance of books because I have a personal library full of them and they have contributed tremendously to my growth as a believer. I also do not wish to belittle the relevance of prayer schools because I have coordinated and taught in many prayer schools. The truth I am trying to drive home is this, nobody can teach you on prayer better than the Holy Spirit. He is the best teacher and the greatest intercessor I have ever known. “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8:26) By the help of the Holy Spirit, prayer is made simple. Many years ago, in my quest to learn how to pray, I prayed a simple but desperate prayer “Holy Spirit, I don’t understand how this prayer thing works, teach me yourself”. Within a short while, the Holy spirit gave me a simple definition of prayer from Mathew chapter
6 verse 9: “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” What then is this definition? Prayer is simply a conversation with your father. This sounds very simple but if you can grasp the wonders behind this definition, you will find prayer very enjoyable and simple but powerful. Let me share with you two key things the Holy Spirit shared with me regarding this definition. • Prayer is a conversation because there is no formal protocol or procedure required. It is simply a conversation that can take place anytime, anywhere and anyhow. • Prayer is a conversation with your Father. It is not a conversation with a stranger or with your employer, it is with your Father. Have you ever seen a child that calls his dad’s PA (Personal Assistant) to book an appointment to speak to the dad? No way! Every child just bumps into their dad’s room and chats away especially if the child is still young. I remember a particular night my son wanted cake, he woke me up at about 12.30am and said “Dad I want cake”. It was late, but he didn’t care, all he wanted was to have a conversation with his father. No wonder Jesus admonished us to behave as children (Mathew 18:3 ). But why? Because we have a father-child relationship with our Father in Heaven. If you can see prayer as a conversation with your Father, you will find it easy to pray and to ask God for ANYTHING at any time because you are his child. Until I come your way again in this wonderful magazine, enjoy your conversation with your Father!

AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with THE
MULTI AWARD WINNER
SHOLA VICTOR
SAJOWA STAR INFLUENCE OF OUR TIME
1.
The name, ’Shola Victor-Sajowa’ is a household name in the gospel music, especially here in the U.K. From the horse’s mouth, who is actually Shola Victor-Sajowa?
Thank you for the question. Thank you for this opportunity. “Who is Shola Victor-Sajowa”? I’m a child of God. I’m married. A mother of three, married to my sweetheart. We’ve been married now for 22 years. I’m a worship leader. I love to worship my King. I believe, you know, that one of the things I was created to do is to pleasure Him through my songs. I’m also an entrepreneur, I’m into the fashion business. That’s crucially a bit of what Sajowa is, and more a mother of three wonderful children. I hope that answers your question.
2.
You just released an album titled:”As Love Demands”. What prompted such a title?
What it was, I remember there was an event in my church, my local church, KICC. We were invited to minister at the Women’s Conference. I was one of the artistes to minister. And when the M.C was to introduce me , he said,”Ladies and gentlemen, this is Shola Victor-Sajowa. She is a God-lover.” And I actually almost cried on that day because quickly, my mind just did a fast forward and rewind, you know, to think of God’s faithfulness and all that He is to me; My Father, my Maker, my Lord, my Saviour, my Protector, my Deliverer and I say that heavily because He has delivered me from so many things.

3.
For everyone planning to get a copy of the latest album, what should they be expecting?
Now for anyone planning to get the album, “As Love Demands”, get ready for a mixture of styles. An album full of love-God’s love. Our response to God’s love, you know, there are different songs in there. One of my songs is, “No Stones”, you know, it says no stone is gonna take my place; You are my Creator. He said, “if you don’t praise Me, I will raise up stones.” You know, I just said to myself, “stones ké?” They’ve not been where I have been. Stones cannot have the memory I have of where God has brought me from or my experience. I’m in the right place to praise God, you know, for where He has brought me from. Who I am basically. So yeah, I’ve got different styles. I’ve got Nigerian song with an African twain.
4.
How is your relationship with God, and how does it impact your music?
Erm, I will say it’s a growing relationship. It’s a walk that will continue till I see Him face to face and even then when I see Him face to face, the work of God still continues because then you are in His Presence for life. You know, it is from here to there and forever. So it’s a growing one, it’s a continuous one. It’s an endless relationship. It’s a love walk. I’m His baby. I love to call myself the King’s daughter. The daughter of the King of glory Himself. My relationship with God is one of intimacy. He is my Father. He teaches me. He helps me to the point of, for example when I
lose things, He leads me to where the thing is.has delivered me from so many things.
my choices, to correct me. The word of God to me is a mirror, I look at myself in the mirror of the Word and make changes.
We have heard not too good stories about some music ministers living the opposite lifestyles of what they minister. Is it possible to be a musician/ gospel artiste and still keep yourself unblemished despite temptations that abound?
Yeah apart from that my relationship with God filters into everything I do. I have a wonderful family. I am married like l said earlier on. I have been married now for about 22 years. He is my best friend. We spend time together, we go out with the children, you know, sometimes, we have film day out or we stay at home. We have days, “okay, I’m not cooking today. “ We have a special day, you know, maybe order a take away, just watch films, we pray together, we study the word of God together. I’m also an entrepreneur like I said earlier on. I’m into fashion, image consultancy. I’m also a personal shopper to many, many people. So yeah of course I hold conferences. There’s this, I don’t know if you’ve heard of “Art of true worship” Conference which was birthed out of the fact that I began to get requests from worship leaders, individuals and even choirs who wanted me to come and mentor them or teach them. And I thought to myself if I was going to be visiting all these churches and places that they were asking me to come and teach, I won’t be able to do it so we came up with the idea of, “Art of true worship”. We’ve had about three now, if I’m correct. But we’ve also had to hold other events which included, “As Love Demands.” It has now become a brand in itself because now I’ve got about two videos coming out from that album and we are planning to work on other songs, new songs and one from my first album. What else do I do? Do you know I love watching people? I study people without them knowing. It helps me appreciate God’s awesome wisdom of creating people, different colours, different races, experiences, and the languages. Beautiful people, tall, short, slim, I just watch people, people don’t know and I enjoy it.
5.
You see my understanding is the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. If you fear God, you will not live a life that is contrary to what He expects of you. So we need to start from there. If you say you are a gospel artist and you are not born again, which gospel are you representing? Which gospel are you preaching? We preach albeit through songs. As a gospel artist/minister you are to minister good news, God’s messages to the dying world. Do you fear the Lord? If you fear Him, everything you do will be done starting from that point,no matter what the temptations are. Whether you like it or not, temptations come. You must have the ability to ‘run’. When I say the ability to run, Joseph ran when Portiphar’s wife was trying to tempt him, the guy legged it. You must know how to flee from all youthful lust or whatever it is that the enemy is throwing your way. Making sure that this is done with the fear of the Lord and He will help us. We don’t live the life of a believer with our own strength; it’s not by power nor by might. You can’t do it with your own strength. It’s a daily dependence on the Lord. Prayer-Prayerfully live your life in his presence. He then helps you to live an overcomer’s life but you must be a God lover and somebody who fear God. You can’t say you love God and you are beating up your wife. You know what I am saying? It just doesn’t click. I saw something recently that really scared me. Yeah! You are right. I had seen people who were supposed to be believers in situations where I was shocked. I don’t know, when I saw it, I just felt like, I told my husband we have to prayed for XYZ. We have to, and I showed him what I saw, you know. I don’t see how somebody who is just coming to Christ, to the Lord and seeing this person doing what the person was doing , I couldn’t see how what he is doing will draw them closer to God. And if my eating meat will make someone to stumble, I better not. So we have to live a life of example of believers, may God help us.
6.
What do you do away from Singing or everything about music? Please, take us into your quiet time?
Away from singing, erm that’s a many pronged question because when I am not singing, I’m building my relationship with God. I meditate on Him, I do my best to study the Word and let the Word inform my lifestyle. The Word of God I mean, to inform
Do you know I love watching people? I love watching people. I study people without them knowing. It’s kind of funny. It helps me appreciate God’s...........”
7.
From where does your inspiration to write songs come?
It comes from, yeah naturally, I’d say it comes from God. Also, there are times that it could be I’m hearing a song. Somebody is playing on a keyboard, playing something, you know, as they are going on, I’m hearing a song and I quickly write it down. Sometimes, you might be singing a song, but I’m hearing another song or if there is a message on my heart that I want to share, maybe about love, maybe about the fear of God, maybe about creation, anything, you know. Sometimes, it depends on the topic I’m thinking about and I could hear sort of music playing and I find myself singing songs that I have never sang before. So grateful for technology. I use my phone to record all my new songs, and I quickly get it down. Continued from page 5 Davids Camp Magazine • www.davidscamp.org • 7

hatever any person settles for determines the flow of your pleasure, comfort, peace, joy, success, and likewise God forbid also your pain, sorrow, hardship, suffering, delay and tears. God has a good and perfect plan for us if only we can tap into it, be patient for it to materialise and apply the wisdom of God in sustaining it. He reassures us in Jeremiah 29:11 that “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope”. This means
God’s plan for everyone of us should give peace of mind. Can you wait for God’s plan to manifest in your life or you will rather walk out your own plan? Would you settle for God’s plan and apply His rule for that plan or settle for something else? God had a good plan for King Saul but he settled for less, in turn his kingdom was taken away from him due to his disobedience to God (1 Samuel 15) and given to a little boy, the anointed David - 1 Samuel 16:13. Likewise, God had a good plan for Ananias and Sapphira that they would flourish, they settled to lie about the money they had brought to the Church. Both died prematurely as a result - (Acts Chapter 5).
8 • Davids Camp Magazine • www.davidscamp.org
God had a great plan for Lot and his family when He wanted to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah in Genesis 19. God sent His angels to go and rescue Lot’s family. Lot was very reluctant to embrace God’s plan (verse 16), the angel of God had to seize his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters and rushed them to safety outside the city. The Bible says this happened because the Lord was merciful. May God be merciful unto you in Jesus name-Amen. - What has God asked you to do that you are being reluctant to do? - What has God asked you not to do that you are being reluctant in obeying? - What are you addicted to right now that you are reluctant to let go and ask God for grace to do the right thing? - What has the Holy Spirit been asking you to learn but you have been reluctant to pursue - academic pursuance, hair dressing, dress making, IT training, business analysis, project management, etc. ? At least Lot left the city and adhered to the strict instruction given to him and his family by God - that they must not look back. Lot settled for obedience, he escaped death, but his wife settled for disobedience (she looked back) and became a pillar of salt. Her
husband became a widower and her children became motherless - what a painful experience for this family because of what the mother settled for - lust of the world. Be careful what you settle for in life. In Numbers Chapter 16, Dathan, Korah and Abiram settled for rebellion against their leader, Moses. The result- they died and even shortened the life span of everyone in their families - they destroyed generations. Proverbs 24:21 says we should, not associate with rebels for disaster will hit them suddenly. May evil will be far from us in Jesus name-Amen There are many crying in their marriages today not because God is not hearing their prayers but because they chose for themselves. God is good in forgiving, but the affected person will still bear the consequences. Do not settle for wealth, looks, academic achievements, gifts of the Holy Spirit with no fruit, at the expense of your joy when making decision about whom to marry. Do not settle for fast life at the expense of waiting for God’s blessing. Some are in prison now as a result, or running around with no peace from the law. Remember that the blessing of the Lord brings no sorrow - Proverbs 10:22. Some have settled for occultism just for wealth when seeing their mates in so called ‘riches with no history’. Beloved, remember our Lord encourages us in Proverbs 23:17 that we should not let our heart envy sinners and also in Proverbs 24:19 - 20 “Don’t fret because of evil doers, don’t envy
lit of the wicked will, be snuffed out’.
God will reward your labour. “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty” - Proverbs 21:5.
Be wise, do not settle for what will cause you trouble instead of peace. Do not settle for co-habitation or fornication for God says we should not have sex before marriage - 1 Corinthians. 6:9-19. Do not settle to betray your loved one because of envy for God will avenge and will also make sure His plan for that your loved one comes to pass - Genesis 37 and 42. Do not settle to cheat during examinations for you will be caught and that will likely be the end. Is it worth it? Think about it. Avoid settling for things that will bring trouble into your life, be wise, settle for things that will bring peace according to God’s plan. Beloved, do not settle for things that will cause you pain, sorrow, hardship, suffering, difficulty. Do not snatch another man’s wife or husband - it is called adultery. Please read Romans 7:2-3 and Mark 10:11-12 carefully. We can live a holy life if that is what we settled for and with God’s help, we will shine in Jesus nameAmen.
You can avoid certain troubles in life if you follow God’s order for your life. Be wise, be patient, be hopeful and be obedient. May the peace of God reign in all areas of your life in Jesus name-Amen

an you talk to your wife or husband about anything? Can you go to them about your struggles? Can they come to you about their struggles? To those in marital covenants (husband and wife), you should be able to pray with your spouse through whatever struggles that come your way, no matter the struggle. There should be honesty in your marriage like no other relationship you have. If you have an intimate relationship with Christ, you should ALSO have an intimate relationship with your husband or wife. I remember early on in our marriage I was struggling with LUST. Even though I had married my husband and was being totally fulfilled sexually, I still had this issue. I was working in the mortgage industry at the time and was working with a client who was “nice on the eyes”. Being that I had to check out so many things about him, I found out this guy had great credit, was in the military, had no children and had lots of what we called “Man Toys” (motorcycles, fast and furious racing cars and loads of electronics) and those THINGS really caught my attention. This guy knew I was married, but he flirted with me every time I had to call him about his deal or when he came to my office. His advances were beyond flattering as now I was beginning to have impure thoughts about him and I had not even been married 6 months. I had set up an appointment to meet him at a house for sale so he could make his decision on if he was buying it or not. I knew in my heart what was going to happen if he and I met at the house alone but I wanted to go anyway. My thoughts were wrong and I was convicted, but my flesh wanted what it wanted and it wanted to be fulfilled. That day I got off work knowing what was planned the next day, knowing that it would not be just a meeting with this guy to look at a house, but it would have been a premeditated act of adultery. Instead of walking into our apartment loving on my husband like normal, I told him that I needed to talk to him

At that very moment, I saw a look in my husband’s eyes that I had never seen before. It was like all the hurt he was feeling was gone” right away. My husband dropped everything he was doing to listen to me and I just poured my heart out to him in tears. I knew what I was saying was hurting him. For a husband to hear that his wife had been thinking immorally about another man was one thing, but for him to hear that it was planned to “meet and cheat” was another. I didn’t know if his heart was breaking. I didn’t know if he would be so mad that he would leave me. I just didn’t know how he would respond to my confession. But I had to get this out and I had to get this out to HIM! Not to a friend, not to an acquaintance, not to a family member, but to MY COVERING! I sat there with crocodile tears rolling down my face, crying so hard but telling my husband EVERYTHING! I told him how I wanted to give into my flesh, how I had been thinking and lusting after this guy, and even about the meeting that was set for the next day. I told it ALL! And then I said words he and I will never forget. I said, “If you don’t pray for me, I am going to fall away”! At that very moment, I saw a look in my husband’s eyes that I had never seen before. It was like all the hurt he was feeling was gone. It was like the authority that he has in Christ just took over. Before I could say another word, he grabbed me in his arms, hugged me and prayed for me like no one had EVER prayed for me before. I’m not one to say you feel a lot of things happening spiritually when in prayer, but that time when he prayed, I literally felt something lift from me. The more he prayed, the more I cried and the more we embraced. By the end of the prayer we were both in tears, his shirt was drenched and I KNEW I was free! I just knew it! Of course sex was next and it was (at that time) the most passionate, reassuring and confirming sex we had had
because it was like it sealed the deal that there would be NO ADULTERY in our marriage, not even the “Look of the Eye” adultery talked about in Matt 5:28 and Job 31:1. Afterwards while we held each other he said, “No secrets. You always come to me and I will always come to you and we will pray each other through”. I said to him, “Always. No matter what it is, we will be honest”! And I thanked him for loving me through instead of being mad and upset! And we have been that way ever since, even through our
trials, we’re honest. Even if it takes a few days before we say anything, we are still HONEST! We stand on God’s word, especially James 5:16! It doesn’t matter where you are in your marriage, if you BOTH are believers, you should be able to go to each other in HONESTY, share your struggles and PRAY for each other! I know this is another long one because yes I could write all day (lol) but I just feel it pressed upon my heart to share about “confessing and praying in marriage” because many couples are not
HOW TO MAKE MORE MONEY AND BE HAPPY trillion dollars, will that money mean squat to you? If someone offered you water and a helicopter to fly out of there, you would trade all your money in a split second, yes I bet you would! So money is not an accurate measurement of power- it heavily depends on how wisely you use it. Many believe that “It is the root of all evil” and several others take on this belief without much questioning. Now, now, now,… money is NOT the root of all evil and the Bible never mentioned anything like that. It only says “the LOVE of money is the root of all evil” and there is a reason for that (otherwise, why do you think Churches still accept monetary donation and charity?) Remember, money is an excellent servant but a bad master. If you are trading your life away for the dollar, money then has power over your time and life and unless you have proper financial intelligence, the lack of money can spawn a lot of evil thinking and negative mindset as observed in primarily cheats, thieves, criminals, breakups, freeloaders, cheapskates, prostitutes, and more to name.

praying as they should! You never know when you will have to pray your husband or wife through! You never know when your husband or wife will be struggling with something unless you can go to each other about anything and pray each other through! There have been times we have had to put our feelings aside and just PRAY for each other! I say all of that to say you should always be able to go to God and then to your spouse! But the questions are DO YOU? And if not, WILL YOU?

Understand What Money Is? Awareness Before Change While money has naturally been developed by merchants in the early days to replace the questionable barter system, money today is literally invented by the rich and wealthy. Entrepreneurs are willing to part with their money to buy other people’s time. Other people’s time i.e. employees and self-employed people becomes their employer’s asset and affords the employers priceless resource to go on to create more wealth for themselves. And here’s the thing: as long as you work for money, you are enslaved by it! Unfortunately, 80%90% of the populations today are being enslaved involuntarily. What we don’t realize is that there is a part of our soul that cannot be bought at whatever price. Would you chop off your little finger if your boss offered you 24 months of your salary immediately? You and I know we are worth more than that. But when you hear of cases of people selling their body parts for cash in some Countries, we can have our eyeballs pop out of our eye sockets. On the other hand, we occasionally DO SELL out a part of ourselves for
Now don’t get me wrong; I am not banging on working at a job (I’m still working as self-employed attached to a Company) but let’s face it: our needs today are growing more than ever before in any period of history. Prices go up, salaries don’t. There are more baby boomers than ever and have very little pension to show for their decades of years of work or efforts. And there is no guessing to how many people really, really hate the unhealthy, hectic lifestyle of getting up early, coping with stress of most parts of day, join traffic jams, spend more money and time in travelling, enjoy very little rest, and repeat the vicious cycle. The first step to CHANGE is to be aware of the problem. Awareness before change (or ABC for short) is necessary if you are to make any changes in life and then get out of the rat race. We need the awareness to know what state we are in so we know where we are going. I hope this write up has been a blessing to you. I’d like to give you practical insights on how to get of the rat race and start living the much desired financial lifestyle in my subsequent write ups so Stay connected to this magazine.

Final word for your fans, followers of your music & young people who look up to you as a mentor all over the world.
A final word to people who follow me. Number one, be a God-lover, live for Him. There is so much distraction going on and around, keep your heart and head in check, particularly when you have success coming your way. Please, understand it’s God who is at work in you both to will and to do of His own good pleasure. It’s not all about you. It’s all about God who is doing the work in you. If He did not give you the life you have, you will not be able to do what you are doing. Do not allow pride; it’s very easy for gifted people to get carried away and become proud. Let your gifts be used to His glory please. Know who you are in Christ and know whose you are, don’t mix up the message, don’t get it twisted, don’t let fame get into your head. Serve God, love Him, fear Him, honour Him, adore Him, lift Him up. Wherever you go, be a voice and see what a wonder He will make of your life. Okay! I pray this blesses you. We are also working on another
album. By the grace of God in January, we’ll be doing the premier of my new video. It will be great to see everyone of you there. Thank you once again for this opportunity. I pray everyone who reads this magazine would be blessed by it. Thank you for the opportunity, David’s Camp. God bless you.
