Good Day All, We are excited to share with you a series of changes that are afoot at Old School Square. As humans we can from time to time be reluctant to embrace change… unless of course there is “something in it” for us. Please let us assure you that our new, ala carte menu, 20162017 Old School Square Season is replete with a good number of advantages that we are certain you will quickly embrace! The cornerstone of our new season format is the fact that it affords all of our patrons with the ability to choose their subscription series based upon their personal tastes in entertainment, calendar availability, and budget considerations. You will have the flexibility to “paint your perfect season!” We so deeply appreciate your kindness and understanding as we navigate our way through this transition. We are indeed making sweeping changes as we introduce a new way of providing the best service possible to our valued subscribers and patrons. We are confident that you will quickly embrace the added value and convenience of an ala carte season and that we will see you with growing regularity. We are working diligently to secure a very diverse and engaging season of offerings for you. We are steadfast in our commitment to negotiate the best contract terms for each entertainment event, and to secure sponsorship underwriting for each event which will translate into higher quality, and more affordable entertainment for our patrons. The 2016-2017 Season will have offerings that are much less expensive or perhaps more expensive than we have offered in the past…but the pricing will be a direct reflection of the true cost of the act. One of the highlights of our 2016-2017 Brochure is the fact that it highlights all of the unique venues and programs we have to offer at Old School Square. You have the ability to tailor your experiences to include performances in the intimate Crest Theatre, the playful Fieldhouse, the outdoor Pavilion, the dynamic Cornell Art Museum, and classes in the amazing Creative Arts School. This season is the perfect opportunity for you to look down new paths and enjoy more of the diverse basket of opportunities that Old School Square has to offer. Please keep your eyes open for dramatic improvements to the Old School Square grounds, and all of our facilities as we embark on the next stage of evolution on this historic campus. SPECIAL EVENTS & FESTIVALS ZOMBIE PROM Thursday, October 20th, 9 pm-1 am in the Fieldhouse Dying to Party?? Rise, and join the class of 1985 for Prom Night. Come dressed in full on zombie attire, makeup and all. You’ll get your photo taken at the door, our Zombie DJ will be spinning classic eighties tunes all night long, we’ll have a lounge area for those feeling “less lively”, crowning of Zombie Prom King and Queen and a cash bar with the best drink prices in town. This Prom is guaranteed to be the “deadest” party on the Ave! Tickets: Announced soon!

EMPTY BOWLS DELRAY BEACH Sunday, December 4th, 11 am-2 pm in the Fieldhouse Empty Bowls Delray Beach, presented by Old School Square and Old School Bakery, will benefit the Palm Beach County Food Bank. This unique event invites the public to “eat simply, so others can simply eat.” A SIMPLE SOLUTION…Potters create bowls, bakers provide rustic breads, and chefs donate hearty soups. Guests will share in a simple meal of bread and soup, and will receive a hand-crafted bowl as a powerful reminder of all of the empty bowls in the county! DESIGNED TO SOLVE A COMPLEX ISSUE. One in six Palm Beach County residents do not know where their next meal will come from. All proceeds go to the Palm Beach County Food Bank to fight hunger in OUR community. Tickets: $25 Optional show ticket: $20 (adult); $10 (student) for an exclusive opportunity to see the Shanghai Acrobats perform on the Pavilion stage at 2 pm. Appropriate for all ages.

This premiere, outdoor juried show will feature extraordinary, original works by 100 top fine art and fine craft artists from around the country. The Old School Square center grounds will be transformed into an exciting outdoor gallery, welcoming art collectors and enthusiasts to meet the artists and discover something new. Original works include paintings, ceramics, fiber art, glass, jewelry, mixed-media, metalwork, photography, woodwork and sculptures in a variety of media. Free admission

ARTRAGEOUS Friday, April 7th, 7 pm and Saturday, April 8th, 7 pm at the Pavilion This unforgettable experience is an electrifying combination of artists painting at amazing speed, right before your eyes, and high energy live music, amazing vocals, creative choreography and audience interaction. Giant artworks jump to life unveiling larger-than-life icons and masterpieces in just moments; all the while, there is constant activity on stage, delighting your senses. It’s a show for the entire family. It’s outrageous… it’s Artrageous! This show takes place during Delray Affair weekend. Delray Affair will celebrate 55 years as the largest arts & craft festival in the Southeast United States. The event takes place along Atlantic Avenue from just west of Old School Square to the Intracoastal. Tickets: $25 (adult); $15 (student)

DELRAY BEACH CRAFT BEER FEST Friday, May 12th, 6:30-10:30 pm at the Pavilion and Park Craft the perfect night out in Delray Beach with the 6th annual DELRAY BEACH CRAFT BEER FEST! Your ticket gets you UNLIMITED SAMPLING of more than 100 craft brews and ciders… wines too! Attendance is limited to give everyone the best beer tasting experience. VIP ticket holders get exclusive tasting of all beers and wines from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Ticket includes a commemorative tasting mug, and featured tap releases; only 500 VIP tickets are available. General admission opens at 7:30 pm. WHAT TO EXPECT: DJ music early on, followed by the headlining band; pub bites from local restaurants for purchase; photo booth, game area and LIVE art; cash bar with mixed drinks and water (no beer for sale). Watch something new The Crest Theatre has taken its program offerings to new heights for 2016-17 with 34 shows gracing the Wilma A. Elmore Stage! New this season are three unique comedies, six family shows, five spectacular Broadway musicals, and 11 mixed offerings. Returning are the Robert D. Chapin Lecture Series, Catch A Rising Star comedians, and the cabaret nights with Broadway's brightest stars.


BROADWAY | CREST THEATRE AVENUE Q Friday, December 16 at 8 pm Saturday, December 17 at 2 & 8 pm Sunday, December 18 at 2 pm Winner of the Tony “Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book, AVENUE Q is part flesh, part felt and packed with heart. AVENUE Q is a laugh-out-loud musical that tells the timeless story of a recent college grad named Princeton who moves into a shabby New York apartment all the way out on Avenue Q. He soon discovers that although the residents seem nice, it’s clear that this is not your ordinary neighborhood. PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES Friday, February 3 at 8 pm Saturday, February 4 at 2 & 8 pm Sunday, February 5 at 2 pm The ‘Pump Boys’ sell high octane on Highway 57 in Grand Ole Opry country and the ‘Dinettes’, Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, run the Double Cupp diner next door. Together they fashion an evening of country western songs that received unanimous raves on and offBroadway with a Tony nomination for Best Musical. With heartbreak and hilarity, they perform on guitars, piano, bass and, yes, kitchen utensils. “Both musically and theatrically, a triumph of ensemble playing. CREST THEATRE | BROADWAY XANADU Friday, February 17 at 8 pm Saturday, February 18 at 2 & 8 pm Sunday, February 19 at 2 pm This Tony Award-nominated, hilarious, musical adventure is about following your dreams despite the limitations others set for you. The original, hit score was composed by pop-rock legends Jeff Lynne and John Farrar. Based on the Universal Pictures’ cult classic movie of the same title, which starred Olivia Newton-John and Gene Kelly, Xanadu is hilarity on wheels for adults, children and anyone who has ever wanted to feel inspired. Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980. She is on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first ROLLER DISCO. Tickets: $52/$42

NEIL SIMON’S BAREFOOT IN THE PARK 2017 NATIONAL TOUR Friday, March 24 at 8 pm Saturday, March 25 at 2 & 8 pm Sunday, March 26 at 2 pm Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park is a romantic comedy focusing on a pair of newlyweds, Corie and Paul, as they begin married life in a tiny, 5th-floor walk-up apartment in a Manhattan brownstone. Paul is a strait-laced attorney; Corie has a far more spontaneous, free spirit. As the young couple contend with a lack of heat, a skylight that leaks snow, several long flights of stairs, oddball neighbor Victor Velasco, and Corie’s well-meaning mother, they must also reconcile their own personal differences in how they approach life’s challenges. The play premiered on Broadway in 1963 and starred Robert Redford and Elizabeth Ashley. The play was made into a film in 1967, also starring Redford, and Jane Fonda. Tickets: $57/$47

SIERRA BOGGESS Monday, January 23 at 8 pm Tuesday, January 24 at 8 pm Sierra Boggess made her Broadway debut originating the role of Ariel in the 2007 production of The Little Mermaid. While she was doing The Little Mermaid, she starred opposite Kristin Chenoweth in the Encores! production of Music in the Air. From February 2010 to March 2011, Boggess starred as Christine Daaé in The Phantom... sequel, Love Never Dies. She once again played the role of Christine Daaé in the 25th anniversary concert of The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall in London. She starred in the 2012 Off-Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore and as Fantine is Les Misérables. In 2013, Boggess returned to the role of Christine in The Phantom of the Opera for the Broadway production’s 25th anniversary and in March 2014, Boggess once again rejoined the The Phantom of the Opera as Christine and reunited with her former Little Mermaid co-star, Norm Lewis as the Phantom. DEFYING GRAVITY Monday, February 13 at 8 pm Tuesday, February 14 at 8 pm Debbie Gravitte, Jason Graae, Scott Coulter and John Boswell celebrate the incredible songbook of three-time, Academy Award winning® composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz, singing songs from his hit Broadway shows Pippin, Godspell, and Wicked, and the animated films Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame. LESLIE ODOM, JR. Monday, March 13 at 8 pm Tuesday, March 14 at 8 pm Leslie Odom Jr. is perhaps best known for his starring role as Aaron Burr in the mega-hit Broadway musical Hamilton. He is also well known for his portrayal of “Sam Strickland” on NBC’s SMASH and for his film debut as “Winky” in George Lucas’ Image award winning film Red Tails. He made his Broadway debut in the cast of RENT when he was 17 years old. Other credits include memorable turns on the small screen alongside Don Cheadle in House of Lies on Showtime, Supernatural on CW, NCIS, CSI: Miami, Grey’s Anatomy, Vanished, Gilmore Girls, and in the original cast of Leap of Faith on Broadway. Leslie can currently be seen recurring on Law and Order SVU, Person Of Interest, and NCIS on CBS. Tickets: $72/$57

LINDA LAVIN MY FIRST FAREWELL CONCERT Monday, March 27 at 8pm Tuesday, March 28 at 8 pm Linda Lavin returned to the Broadway stage in January 2016 in the new Richard Greenberg play Our Mother’s Brief Affair. Her new show, My First Farewell Concert is built on the premise that every time you get a new role… a new beginning…. you’re starting over… or saying farewell. It features some of Linda’s best known songs and stories about her past, current and next new role. Known for several roles on television, Linda is also a Tony Award winner for Best Actress in a Play for Broadway Bound and a nominee for Best Actress in a Play for Collected Stories and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. Recent roles included Follies, The Lyons, Gypsy, The Diary of Anne Frank, Other Desert Cities, Hollywood Arms and Too Much Sun. Tickets: $72/$57

BILLY PORTER Monday, April 3 at 8 pm & Tuesday, April 4 at 8 pm Billy Porter won a Tony Award for his performance as Lola in Kinky Boots. His other Broadway credits include Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, Grease, and Smokey Joe’s Café. Off-Broadway, in addition to appearing in Angels in America, he was seen in The Merchant of Venice, House of Lear, and Radiant Baby, Birdie Blue, Songs for a New World, King Lear and The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler (both for Exit, Pursued by A Bear), as well as his one-man show, Ghetto Superstar. His film and television credits include the Sundance Film Festival features The Broken Hearts Club and Intern, The Humbling, Noel, the CBS miniseries Shake, Rattle & Roll as Little Richard, Twisted, Law & Order: SVU, Law & Order, The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and The Tonight Show. A Grammy Award winner, Porter’s concert credits include opening acts for Rosie O’Donnell and Aretha Franklin, performances at Carnegie Hall, with John McDaniel and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, as well as with The Buffalo Philharmonic, Peter Nero and The Philly Pops, and The Boston Pops. Also a writer, his play While I Yet Live was produced last year at Primary Stages. Tickets: $72/$57

COMEDY | CREST THEATRE EVIL DEAD, THE MUSICAL Friday, October 7 at 9 pm Saturday, October 8 at 9 pm This hilarious, record-breaking Canadian musical tells the outrageous story of five college friends spending the weekend in an abandoned cabin in the woods after accidentally unleashing an evil force that turns them all into demons. The New York Times called it “…the next Rocky Horror Show. Audience members sitting in the designated “Splatter Zone” get covered in fake blood as the production incorporates some fun ‘real-life’ effects during certain scenes. In addition to some dismembered limbs, demons telling bad jokes, and catchy tunes (“Look Who’s Evil Now”, “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons”), the show features a saucy combination of wit and sexual innuendo that keeps audiences laughing out loud. STEVE SOLOMON’S MY MOTHER’S ITALIAN, MY FATHER’S JEWISH AND I’M HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS Thursday, December 22 at 8 pm Friday, December 23 at 8 pm From the star and creator of one of the longest running one-man comedy shows in history: My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish & I’m in Therapy We bring you: My Mother’s Italian, My Father’s Jewish and I’m Home for the Holidays…..The Therapy Continues! Steve’s back with more wild and hilarious stories and characterizations about his family, friends and the other folks we meet whose sole purpose was to drive him into therapy in the first place. We all get to attend holiday dinner at Grandma’s where, if you’re under 55, you’re allowed to sit at the children’s table; thirty five over-fed people and one toilet! It’s another laugh filled evening of family chaos from the award-winning writer and comedian, Steve Solomon. Tickets: $46/$36

SHIRLEY JONES Thursday, January 12 at 2 pm Film and television actress and singer, Shirley Jones has enjoyed a career in show business spanning six decades. She has starred in a number of well-known musical films, such as Oklahoma! (1955), Carousel (1956), and The Music Man (1962). She won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for playing a vengeful prostitute in Elmer Gantry (1960). She played the lead role of Shirley Partridge, the widowed mother of five children, in the musical situationcomedy television series, The Partridge Family (1970–74), which co-starred her real-life stepson David Cassidy, son of Jack Cassidy. HILAREE O’NEILL Thursday, February 16 at 2 pm A professional ski mountaineer and athlete for The North Face, Hilaree O’Neill is the first woman to climb two 8,000m peaks in 24 hours (Everest and Lhotse). She has also skied from the Himalayan summit of Cho Oyu in Tibet and climbed and skied several high peaks in Bolivia and Argentina. Elsewhere, Hilaree has cut turns on remote volcanoes in the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Lebanon, as well as many first descents in the tight couloirs of Baffin Island. Born and raised in the Northwest, Hilaree began skiing at age three at Stevens Pass in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State. Eventually she moved to the Chamonix Valley of France where she learned to take her skiing skills to the next level -- ski mountaineering. Hilaree is the mother of two young boys. Boykins designed the solar arrays that powered the Mars exploration rovers, Spirit and Opportunity. Landing on Mars on January 25, 2004, Opportunity was designed to survive a mission lasting approximately 90 days. Remarkably, the rover continues to traverse the surface of Mars to this day, sending back valuable scientific data. A LIFE IN PORTRAITS September 2016 through January 2017 A Life in Portraits brings together world-renowned, contemporary, American artists, spanning five decades, who have created portraits of art patron and collector, Joan Quinn. The exhibition explores the relationship between artist and subject and is a rare but fascinating look into the creative process of some of the world’s greatest American artists. CORNELL ART MUSEUM | COLLECTION While the Cornell Art Museum exhibitions typically focus on contemporary art, the Cornell Art Museum Permanent Collection has its own unique voice. It speaks to the Museum’s associations with artists and generous patrons from around the world over its 26-year history. Comprised of over 200 objects, the collection includes paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, historic artifacts and works on paper that date to the 18th century. Developed through donations from patrons and artist contributions, the collection holds the complete Bernet Collection of primitive folk paintings and artifacts among its prized acquisitions. The Cornell Art Museum has exhibited selected works of art from the permanent collection throughout the years and now plans to dedicate a gallery to display the art on a rotating basis for the enjoyment and education of the public.

ACCESSIBLE SEATING

The Crest Theatre supports the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. We are wheelchair accessible on the main floor. Special needs seating can be purchased online and through the Box Office. A limited number of wheelchair spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The Fieldhouse is wheelchair accessible through the side door ramp. The balconies in the Crest Theatre and the Fieldhouse are not wheelchair accessible. The Pavilion is wheelchair accessible through all entry gates.

ASSISTED LISTENING DEVICES

Assisted listening devices may be obtained for performances in the Crest Theatre, free of charge. Simply stop by the Box Office before the performance. A driver’s license or credit card will be held by us and returned back to you upon receipt of the devise.

BENEFITS OF BEING A SUBSCRIBER

When you order 5 or more qualified shows from the season brochure, you become a Series Subscriber. As a Series Subscriber you get the added perks of priority seating before the public and ticket exchanges, based on availability, without exchange fees. As a returning Series Subscriber, the ability to keep the same seats may be possible based on your personal selections.

CANCELLED OR POSTPONED EVENTS

We make every effort to go on with the show. In the event a performance is cancelled or rescheduled by Old School Square or the performer, we will make every attempt to notify ticket holders for full refunds. In case of inclement weather, should the performance occur, there are no refunds.

CHILDREN

Children’s programming in the Crest Theatre is most appropriate for ages 4 and up. All children must have a ticket even if they will be sitting on your lap. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Sorry, no babes in arms.

CONCESSIONS

Light snacks, soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase in the lobby of the Crest Theatre and the main floor of the Fieldhouse. Purchases may be taken into the theater. The Pavilion events generally have concessions available for purchase. An assortment of food trucks will be available at Free Friday Night Concerts in the Pavilion.

ARRIVING AT THE THEATER

The doors to the Crest Theatre building open one hour before the performance time, while seating will begin 30 minutes before the performance. As a courtesy to performers and audience members, late arrivals will be seated at the discretion of the House Manager. The doors to the Fieldhouse open half an hour before the event. The gates to the Pavilion area generally open one hour before each event.

SIDE CHAIRS

Crest Theatre sold out shows may have additional seating added to the theater. Comfortable armless side chairs with padded backs and seats are placed along the left and right walls on the main floor. One or two rows of chairs may be available. Side chairs are not available for sale online. Call the Box Office to purchase these seats.
