Other funding may be secured from grants such as the NC Parks and Recreation Trust Fund (PARTF) and the Skatepark Project (formerly the Tony Hawk Foundation). This master plan was prepared according to standards developed by PARTF, and the Spindale Skatepark and Pump Track project should compete well within this grant program. The Skatepark Project awards grants for the design and construction of skateparks in underserved, low-income areas, and according to the EPA Environmental Justice Mapping and Screening Tool, approximately 47% of the population within a one-mile radius of the site is considered lowincome.
