Morning Practice
For swimmers who want to join the Gators but aren’t able to swim 25 meters, we offer the Mini Gators team. This session helps the swimmer get ready to compete. Participants will not swim in meets until they are able to swim 25 meters and are comfortable in deep water, but they will be able to attend meets and cheer on the Gators. Children must not be afraid of the water and must have no problems placing the entire head under the water. They must be independent swimmers with the ability to do a basic freestyle. Dog paddling is not considered independent swimming. The multiple-child discount does not apply to the Mini Gators program because space is limited.

Calendar • Open Gym Remembering Coach Eddie Fowlkes Coach Eddie Fowlkes passed away on Friday, April 1. He started the Decatur Baseball Camp in 1986 and inspired many young people to play the game. He loved being at Glenlake Park and his routine included getting ice from the recreation center each morning for drinks. He made sure we had a place to keep the campers’ items on the day of the tour of Turner Field. For any kid who missed the last day of camp he would prepare a bag containing a Braves hat, a camp T-shirt, and some Atlanta Braves items. Coach Fowlkes and Doc Fowlkes participated in several Opening Day Parades and contributed to the community in many ways. Coach Fowlkes, we thank you for your contribution to teaching and coaching, and for making sure that young people always had a fun time at Decatur Baseball Camp.
