Berry As natural dyes continue to trend, softened purples and berry shades emerge as a key fall color. Cone denim took their cotton/ TENCEL™ mix, an open and fluid rigid, and sent it to MN Dye studio, a natural dye artist based in the Catskills, NY. Advance continue with their ‘Big Box’ dye process to achieve a number of beautiful shades. Big Box reduces water consumption by 95.5%, wastewater emission by 99%, chemical consumption by 35%, gas emissions by 44.3% and electricity consumption by 25.5%. Other mills explore coatings instead of overdyes and aggressive washes, to achieve the same high-low effects with less water, chemicals and energy. Fabric bases range from nostalgic, chunky 3x1’s to tighter, high stretch denims.
