JANE YAMADA forces of nature night journey the big wave & desert night! By: Kimberly Clerkley

“Since art has always been my passion, I am especially fortunate to also have been able to make it my career.” After graduating from the Art Center College of Design, Jane worked as a commercial artist for ad agencies, entertainment companies, book publishers, and toy companies. Her client list includes Disney, Warner Brothers, Sesame Street, Mattel Toys, Tomy Toys, Macmillan Publishing, Scholastic Publishing, Random House, and many more. A few years ago, she changed her direction and now she’s concentrating on creating contemporary wall sculptures. Her sculptural wall pieces are made with a mixture of media, including metals, wood, and art board. She paints, texturizes, and cuts circles into the art board. She then combines them with metals to create abstract 3 dimensional wall pieces. Her sculptures are usually based on themes from nature, such as water, fire and wind. She has shown her work in the Summer Art Market, the Loveland Sculpture Show, The East Boulder County Artists Studio Tour, and various galleries in the Denver/Boulder area. When it comes to Jane Yamada, her down-to-earth personality and genuine passion for art and life shines in all her brilliant and unique works of art.

Desert Night’s main inspiration comes from the desert. The deep blue sky is infused with copper. Also, the sunset at dusk is a mix of requiem glaze infused with black accents of copper. Transitioning from the counter opposite of a dry environment of the desert to the ocean, The Big Wave takes on the movement and rhythm of life.

“Ever since kindergarten, when I had my first art class, I knew that this was it! I knew that this is what I wanted to do. I have been fortunate enough to be able to have a career doing what I love. I would continue doing this, even if I never made any money; I would just do it for fun.” Desert Night

“ The movement and variance in size, texture, and lines represent the many directions that one takes in life when exploring a new place.”

Jane uses various mediums, such

as woods, and metals, and then cuts them into circles. Next, Jane incorporates the elements of nature and the human experience in life. Jane’s approach is simple: she starts with a theme within nature, then she adds a color scheme and ties it into where she is at in that very moment within herself. Forces of Nature showcases green, metallic grays, and purple circles.

The personal growth that we all go through, and how we progress in our own lives from dark to light was really the idea behind Forces of Nature.

Night Journey is an 8 foot wide sculpture with blue aquatic color schemes and different elements of metal.

“The emotional and natural progression that we as individual’s in our daily journey of moving forward continues to grow.” Night Journey

“ Although I have themes, I really want the viewer to make it their own. Whatever that person is able to take away is really all that matters, which is what we all do in our own lives is to progress in our own ways and personal journeys through life” The Big Wave DENVHERE 4

THE SOPHISTICATED MAN TEDD TASKEY By: Kira Norton

Tedd Taskey is an actor, family

man, and well let’s face it; he looks great for his age! Tedd lived in Los Angeles, California for 12 years and pursued acting in TV, film, network TV, and even produced a film, King of the Ants. Acting came natural for him being that he stared in his first play in fifth grade. When Tedd was in his early 20’s, he acted in the TV series’ like Space: Above and Beyond, and 18 Wheels of Justice. In 2005, he turned to Corporate America. Taskey’s recent years spent in Colorado have been a little more relaxed. He has been working on his Masters in Psychotherapy. Tedd let DenVhere know that being a counselor helps him understand characters more while he is acting.

Taskey is a family man and a businessman, and he knows what’s hot for his age. As some may know, older men often aren’t sure how to dress their age. We picture younger men dressing casually, and laid back, and older men in suits and ties. Tedd is featured wearing three outfits; The Businessman, The Family Man on Vacation, and The Businessman on his Trip to Rome. These tips will surely help the older man look and feel years younger. Tedd Taskey knows how to look great, along with what’s hot and what isn’t. It’s not difficult to switch up your wardrobe and change your look. It doesn’t matter if you’re a businessman, a workaholic, or a family man!

Yellow button-down shirt, tie and jeans: vacation with the family When you’re on your way out the door for that early morning flight to the vacation spot with your family, throw on a casual button-down that is still sophisticated, yet more laid back than a long sleeved nice shirt. Jeans make it very casual!

There’s an endless journey in human understanding.

Black suit, lavender shirt and a tie: Businessman For Work, wearing any colored shirt underneath a suit besides white will brighten up your look and make you feel years younger. Do the same with a bright tie, and you’ve gone from a boring outfit to an outfit that will get the attention you deserve!

Maroon shirt, beige overcoat, khaki pants: The Business Trip to Rome

Business trips can be unexpected, and can require long flights. Keep comfort in mind and try a maroon shirt with a beige overcoat, and a pair of khaki pants.

GAVIN ATKIN (An Amazing Photographer)

It’s amazing that a single picture can capture so

many words. Gavin Atkin can truly capture any idea I throw at him. We both have crazy and creative ideas so that when we collaborate, we can create one extraordinary project. I can’t begin to say how inspiring Gavin’s work is. His style of shooting comes from inside his heart. He doesn’t like to capture dull and cliché, instead he likes to capture art and beauty. -Georgez Dabit, Editor-in-Chief/Creative Director Gavin really knows how to capture emotion in his photography. Though I’m not an expert in photography, I know he is gifted and talented. Anyone can recognize his amazing ability. His photographs truly speak to you, and they are, in reality, worth a thousand words. His photographs really do take measurable leaps from reality and his professionalism is exceptional. -Kira Norton, Theme & Topic Staff/Journalist Gavin Atkin’s photography is original, creative, intuitive, and beautiful. Each photograph is very well done and evokes different emotions through its imagery. His ideas and concepts turn into striking images that evoke and portray a different theme or story. Gavin’s professionalism when it comes to photography makes it easy to see that he knows what he is doing. One day he will be well known all across the world and everyone will want to get the chance to work with him as well as share their ideas to create a beautiful image and concept that carries both meaning and beauty. -Ariana Lindsey, Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief Gavin’s photography is almost at gorgous as he is. -Connor Pascale, Graphic Designer/Photgrapher

rants, blurbs, and a whole bunch of stuff!

We men are an interesting species. One

minute we want something, the next minute we change our minds. I still wonder to this day why we do the things we do, say the things we say, and especially act the way we act. It baffles me that we can ruin a whole day’s plan in an instant (girls hate this by the way). Ironically in fashion, change of mind and thought is what the fashion world is all about. For men, it becomes apparent that we have to “dress to impress” in order to grab that special someone’s attention, or in this case, the fashion world’s attention. Since I was 15 years old, fashion icons and trends have become more apparent to me. What many people may not realize is that men have a more difficult time in the fashion world than women do. For fashionistas like myself, it’s hard to stick to one specific brand of clothing. Men’s clothing can sometimes be so boring and so dull, that I almost want to buy something and change it myself using crafts and such. It drives me nuts to see boring colors and tacky outfits that can’t be worn with anything else. My goal is to change men’s style, and to have them expand their closets. I really like to push for over-the-top outfits and crazy new looks for myself!
