Das Städtchen Glurns ist eine Perle. Sein historisches Ambiente lässt nicht erahnen, dass man hier unkonventioneller zeitgenössischer Architektur begegnen kann. Man findet sie nicht im Zentrum, sondern im heterogenen Industriequartier. In dieser Umgebung war ein kraftvolles architektonisches Zeichen, das einen Impuls zur Erneuerung aussenden kann, erwünscht. Daran glaubte der Bauunternehmer Albrecht Ebensperger. Deshalb erbat er sich von Werner Tscholl einen Entwurf für die von ihm gegründete Whiskybrennerei Puni. Der Vinschger Architekt schlug einen minimalistischen Würfel aus terrakottafarbigen Betonziegeln vor, der sich trotzig der gesichtslosen Umgebung entgegenstellt. Die dunklen Leerstellen im Ziegelwerk beleben das strenge Fassadenraster, welches das dahinter verborgene Industriegebäude maskiert. Dieses widerspricht mit seiner unregelmäßigen, ganz pragmatisch von den Arbeitsvorgängen bestimmten Form der kubischen Außenhülle. So reicht das Kellergeschoss mit den tonnengewölbten Räumen und der Destillerie unterirdisch über den Grundriss des Kubus hinaus. Die kupfernen Brennkessel wiederum greifen expressiv vom Keller bis in den Eingangsraum hinauf. Darüber befindet sich ein Mehrzweckraum und zuoberst eine Wohnung mit einer durch die Ziegelhülle blickenden Terrasse.
WERNER TSCHOLL
La città di Glorenza è una perla. Vista la sua conformazione storica non si penserebbe mai che qui ci si possa imbattere in un esempio di architettura contemporanea, per nulla convenzionale. La sua posizione non è tuttavia nel centro storico ma nell’eterogenea zona industriale. Qui si voleva porre un forte segno architettonico capace di dare impulso al rinnovamento. L’imprenditore Albrecht Ebensperger, fautore dell’idea, ha quindi chiesto a Werner Tscholl di presentare un progetto per la distilleria di whisky Puni da lui fondata. L’architetto venostano ha proposto un cubo minimalista di mattoni in cemento color terracotta che si inserisce provocatoriamente nell’anonimato dell’ambiente circostante. I buchi scuri nella parete di mattoni animano la rigida griglia della facciata che mimetizza l’edificio industriale nascosto dietro di essa. Con la sua forma irregolare determinata dai processi lavorativi, la facciata a griglia ben contrasta con la struttura cubica esterna. Il piano seminterrato, con i soffitti a volta e la distilleria, si estende infatti oltre la planimetria sotterranea del cubo. E, per contro, gli alambicchi in rame occupano lo spazio che va dalla cantina fino all’atrio d’ingresso creando un effetto molto caratteristico. Sopra si trova un ambiente polifunzionale e più in alto un appartamento dotato di una terrazza la cui vista attraversa i mattoni forati.

The little town of Glurns is a gem: it is thus hard to guess from its historic ambience that it contains an example of unconventional contemporary architecture. This is not to be found in the centre, however, but rather in the heterogeneous surroundings of the industrial area. The aim was to provide the location with a powerful architectural sign to act as an impulse for renewal. Such was the view of the client, Albrecht Ebensperger, who therefore requested Werner Tscholl to draw up plans for the Puni whisky distillery he had founded. The architect, based in the Vinschgau Valley, proposed a minimalist cube of terracotta-coloured concrete bricks as a defiant riposte to the somewhat faceless environment. The dark spaces in the brickwork enliven the strict façade that masks the industrial building concealed behind it. The irregular form of the façade itself, the result of pragmatic work processes, stands in contradiction to the cubic external shell. Thus the basement with its barrel-vaulted spaces and the distillery extend underground beyond the floor plan of the cube. The copper boilers in turn rise up expressively from the basement to the entrance hall, with a multipurpose GLURNS room above and, right at the top, an apartment with a GLORENZA terrace offering views through the brick shell. 2012

Der Grünraum entlang der Talfer PARDELLER PUTZER SCHERER in Bozen ist ein beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet mit ARCHITEKTEN Sportplätzen und Wiesen, von dem aus der Blick über die in den Weinbergen verstreuten Kirchen, Schlösser und Ansitze schweift. Beim Planen der Umkleidekabinen des Faustballvereins verlangte dieser Ort von den Bozner Architekten Pardeller Putzer Scherer viel Fingerspitzengefühl. Sie entschieden sich für einen minimalen Eingriff, der dank der Wahl der Farben und der Materialien kaum auffällt. Kommt man von der Stadt her, so nimmt man zwischen den Bäumen zunächst nur eine rostrote Wand wahr. Von nahem erweist sie sich als Gebäudehülle aus ineinandergeschobenen Stahlblechen. Diese knicken über das Giebeldach und schützen die daruntergestellten, containerartigen Kabinen vor dem Wetter. Nur ganz leicht berührt das langgezogene, 2012 realisierte Gebäude mit seiner metallenen Bodenplatte oben an der schräg abfallenden Geländestufe die Erde. Die Platte wird hangseitig von elf überschlanken Metallsäulen getragen, sodass das Gebäude in der Auenlandschaft zu schweben scheint. Gleich viele Stützen tragen den sich zum Spielfeld öffnenden Portikus vor den grasgrünen Einbauten. In diesen befinden sich der Lagerraum, das Zimmer des Schiedsrichters, die beiden Umkleidekabinen mit Duschen und die separaten Toiletten. FAUSTBALL SPORTANLAGE Lo spazio verde lungo il torrente CAMPO SPORTIVO PALLAPUGNO Talvera a Bolzano è un’area ricreativa molto amata FISTBALL SPORTS FIELD per la presenza di campi sportivi e prati da cui si gode una bella vista su chiese, residenze e castelli che punteggiano i vigneti. Progettare in questo luogo degli spogliatoi per il Club di Pallapugno ha richiesto agli architetti bolzanini Pardeller Putzer Scherer molta sensibilità. Gli architetti hanno optato per un intervento minimo, quasi impercettibile grazie alla scelta di colori e materiali. Se si arriva dalla città, si nota solo una parete color ruggine tra gli alberi. Da vicino, la parete si rivela essere un involucro telescopico di lamiere d’acciaio che si ripiegano sul tetto a due falde e proteggono dalle intemperie le sottostanti cabine, simili a container. La struttura allungata, realizzata nel 2012, sfiora solo leggermente il terreno in pendenza con la sua base in metallo. Essa è sostenuta sul lato del pendio da undici sottili pilastri, anch’essi metallici, cosicché l’edificio sembra galleggiare sul paesaggio della pianura lungo il torrente. Il portico, che si apre sul campo di gioco antistante i verdi prati, è supportato dallo stesso numero di colonne. Qui si trovano il magazzino, l’ufficio dell’arbitro, due spogliatoi con docce e servizi igienici separati. The green space along the River 2012 Talfer in Bozen is a popular recreation area, with its sports fields and meadows offering views of the various churches, castles and stately residences scattered among the vineyards. The planning of the changing rooms for the fistball club, by the Bozen architects Pardeller Putzer Scherer, therefore demanded considerable sensitivity: they accordingly opted for a minimalist approach that, thanks to the choice of colours and materials, is hardly noticeable. Arriving from the city, you first only notice a rust-red wall between the trees. Up close this proves to be a building shell of steel plates pushed together that arch over the gable roof and protect the container-like cabins below from the weather. The metal base plate of the elongated structure, realised in 2012, only very slightly touches the ground above the terrain that slopes away downwards. The plate is supported slope-side by eleven slender metal columns, making the building appear as if floating in the green landscape. The same number of columns support the portico that opens onto the playing field in front of the grass-green installations containing the store room, the referees room, and the two BOZEN changing rooms with showers and separate toilets.
