Campie Christmas Newsletter 2010

I

P1 and P2 families will each get 2 tickets for the Nativity. P1 families come at 9.30am and P2 families at 11 am on Friday 17 December. Awwww….. that will be lovely…. Tea, coffee, mince pies will be served too. You can wait in the parent room once P1s have gone into school.

We are really delighted that we can return to the Brunton’s Main Hall on Thursday 23 December 2010 from 1.30— 2.30pm to celebrate Christmas together. We will be led by Fischy Music once more and Rev Alison Macdonald will join us, as will other friends of Campie School. We will also draw the Christmas Raffle then. Last year, we invited P3-7 parents to join us but we had space so this year, we would like to invite open that invitation to all parents. No tickets, just come along ready for a good sing together. On Thursday 23rd children and staff can pay 50p to dress up or dress down. The money we raise will go to our CDC Rice Fund to give money for food to CDC’s boarding houses for the 500 children who are orphans or cannot live with their parents. We all get so much at Christmas so this is a chance to share with our friends who have less. Last year, loads of us wore Santa hats and it looked FABULOUS so let’s go for that again, if you have one. Staff will be walking all the children back to Campie after the Celebration so that we are careful not to lose anyone. We think that’s safest so please meet your child in the playground at the normal times.

Miss Napier has had to leave Campie early on health grounds. However, she hopes to visit us to say goodbye before she leaves for New Zealand. If not, we all wish you well Miss Napier. Keep in touch. We thank Miss Reid for teaching P2/3 so well while Miss Napier has been absent. We look forward to welcoming Mr Sam Chetwynd back to teach P2/3 on 11 January 2011.

Our Christmas Fair was cancelled because of the snow so we are going to have it on SATURDAY 5 FEBRUARY 2011. Put it in your diary now and save all those unwanted presents for a Fair with a difference!

School closes for the holidays at the normal time on 23 December 2010. Children return on Tuesday 11 January 2011.

Campie staff wish you all a great and peaceful holiday and a very safe, happy and hopeful New Year. Sheila Laing, Laing Headteacher
