Word from Editor Hello! I hope your summer has been going well so far! It’s the last month before school starts and hopefully, we’re all be prepared for it! I will admit we haven’t had many volunteer opportunities lately however we are looking for potential events for when school starts up again! We also held a social to help bond with members! It was very relaxing being with the new members and getting to be able to relax for a while :) Stay safe and go drink a glass of water! -Aaliyah Andrade 2019-2020 Bulletin Editor

“Early planning and preperation is essential to staying safe” -Chris Vaccaro

Word from President Overall I think we did great we had done a social, in which a lot of people came to. It was great seeing our LTG there! We also have gotten in contact with new places that are interested in collaberating for a fundraiser. So July was a pretty good month. -Elijah Maure 2019-2020 President

“Good words are worth much, and cost little.” -George Herbert

Summer Social On the evening of July 20th we held a small social at Spring Valley Community Park. This was meant to help bond with our members and educate them about key club. Such as going over the most common cheers such as the ‘How do you feel’ and the ‘Let me see you get down’. Many of the members did not know each other so in an attempt to make it more comfortable for all of us we played many icebreakers! For being a small social it went pretty well!

“I personally enjoyed the social! Getting to meet new coming members and reconnecting with my fellow officers was enjoyable. I liked how people connected with new people. Explaining about Key Club was great as we were able to let the newcomers know what Key Club was all about and our goals for the new year.” -Denica Cenal Well for starters the Social was really fun! I enjoyed it. In the beginning, it was a bit awkward and my sister, my friend and I kinda felt shy, But I know once school and the club starts up we all work together. I feel like, for the next social, there should be a bit more ice breakers, like popcorn where everyone can introduce themselves and tell them a few things about themselves. I’m grateful for attending the social.

Get to Know Your Board!

School is right around the corner! And that means that our weekly Key Club meetings will be starting up soon. To help ease upcoming members with any nervousness they might have, we’ll give our own experiences about Key Club, with how we discovered it and what we think the benefits of joining are!

PRESIDENT Elijah

Maure

The way I discovered Key Club was through my siblings because my brother was the historian and my sister had two officer positions, editor, then treasurer. I think the benefits of being a member of Key Club are being a future leader and getting yourself out there, being responsible for helping the community and having someone to talk to and having a new group of people to make life-long memories with.

VICE PRESIDENT Denica

Cenal

I discovered Key Club in middle school when I heard about it for the first time from my cousin. I instantly was intrigued by what we do in Key Club and the benefits of being in the club. I knew I wanted to join, and I've been dedicated to this club ever since. I believe the benefits of being in Key Club is showing that we could give back to our community in ways that helps all of us. From volunteering to raising money for charities. Also, it was a way for me to be more open and do more things to give back. Overall it’s a great experience to be in Key Club for yourself, your club, and community.

Get to Know Your Board! VICE PRESIDENT Jaeleen

Lariosa

I discovered Key Club through my cousin's Instagram posts, to be exact it was an RTC post and it looked so much fun, I knew I was drawn in immediately and knew I wanted to be apart of it as soon as I joined high school. For the benefits, I think what you get out of Key Club is the development of leadership and communication skills which are both very important to have obtained for your future!

SECRETARY

Ashley Palencia

How I discovered Key Club was that I had a friend tell me all the great things that people were doing which sparked my curiosity and wanted to join to give it a try. And so I did and enjoyed everything about it! I met a ton of new people and made new friends and did service projects that were helpful for the community which I enjoyed! The benefit I got was that I was able to meet new people and new friends and use this as an opportunity to put myself out there! I wanted to gain leadership experience which is why I became an officer!

TREASURER

Lyric Dvorak

I discovered Key Club when I went to my Freshman Orientation in my first year. Though I didn’t join Key Club that year, most of my friends were in it. During my sophomore year, more friends of mine persuaded me to join, and I found out how fun Key Club truly is. One of the largest benefits of Key Club is gaining the ability to take others into consideration. Not only do you think of the community while volunteering, but you also meet up with other schools and people with different interests in this club, which could really make a difference in your life.

BULLETIN EDITOR Aaliyah

Andrade

I discovered Key Club back in middle school, at the time I had no idea that it was a community service club! Towards the end of my freshman year, a friend of mine invited me to attend a meeting, and I enjoyed it! And ever since attending events such as RTC, I knew I wanted to become more involved with Key Club! The benefits of Key Club based on my experiences alone are that Key Club is a very friendly place to get into, with the good sense of morality that comes with helping your community in so many ways, and getting to know so many people! It’s a good way to find yourself in leadership opportunities and get yourself out there!

HISTORIAN

Brandon Dadis

I discovered Key CLub through the freshman orientation. I always love helping others and Key Club is such a great place to do that! The benefits of this club are that you can give back to our community while making new friendships and memories!

S.A.A

Kimberly Agraan

I discovered Key Club from my upperclassmen friends back in middle school. They told me again in high school to join Key Club. :) Some benefits I found in Key Club were the easy opportunity to become friends with a lot of people!
