Energy Psychology A Self-help Energy Psychology course – for stress, anxiety and depression
This 5-week programme offers a rare opportunity for you to work on issues of depression, anxiety and stress using the methods of Energy Psychology under the direction of an acknowledged expert in the field. You will learn easy-to-use mind-body techniques to enable you to work with your body’s own energy system, as well as with your thoughts and emotions, to bring about rapid and deep resolution of stress. Energy Psychology does not require extensive verbalisation or sharing of details surrounding a problem – and so personal privacy and confidentiality can be preserved in the group sessions. While the programme is open to all, it should not be considered as a substitute for medical or psychiatric care.

Lunchtime Talks
Women’s Health – from a new viewpoint with Sally Walder PhD
Hormones are the chemical messengers involved in every aspect of our physical wellbeing. Secreted into the bloodstream, for women they control the process by which we journey from puberty through to menopause. Hormones regulate our moods – anger, anxiety, stress response, the sleep-wake cycle – and can disrupt ovulation or decrease the receptivity of the womb. Hormonal imbalances alongside vitamin and mineral deficiencies are frequently the cause of problems ranging from PMT to hot flushes to infertility. Blood testing, while not a substitute for a professional medical diagnosis, can help identify these imbalances which can then often be corrected either through complementary or orthodox approaches. In this fascinating series of talks we will discover ways in which the components of the blood reflect our physical health and how blood testing can help us make positive changes in our lives. Advance booking recommended. 14 weeks for Saturday classes – last class 16 December 13 weeks for Friday classes -last class - 15 December Half-term week of 23 October These fun classes for children provide a wonderful discipline – improving co-ordination, spatial and body awareness, concentration and physical confidence. The ballet training follows the method taught by the Royal Academy of Dance. Examinations are available for students and there may be opportunities to appear in shows.
Dress comfortably and dance in either bare feet or dance shoes. We regret that after the first class parents will not be able to remain in the classroom. After that session, parents will be asked to leave the room. If you feel your child is not yet mature enough to cope with this, then we would suggest waiting until they are older to enrol. Please note that photos may only be taken with the permission of the tutor; filming will, however, never be permitted.

MINDFULNESS
MBSR Mindful Self-Compassion Mindfulness Yoga
is a gift that you owe yourself! It can immeasurably enrich your life. Mindfulness offers a way of changing the way you perceive the world, yourself and others. It presents a way of being which involves developing objective, nonjudgemental awareness of what is happening in your internal and external space – in your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.
MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)
People who practice mindfulness report: • Reduced stress and a greater sense of calm • An enhanced sense of wellbeing • Improved self-esteem and greater confidence • Being less distressed by physical and psychological symptoms • Altered pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with chronic pain • Better ability to focus and concentrate Whilst it has its roots in Buddhist meditation, the term as it is used today refers to a series of well-researched techniques largely based upon an 8-week mindfulness programme developed in the 1980’s in America. MBSR is the original, classic course that brought mindfulness into the mainstream.
