All our counsellors hold current DBS (CRB) checks, professional liability insurance, and all are individual members of a professional governing body.
Deciding to see a counsellor is a huge step and trying to find the right professional can be a daunting process. At the Centre, we have a large team of counsellors with many different specialisms and we take time to match you with the professional who we feel would best meet your needs. The service we offer is open-ended: your counselling will finish when you are ready to finish. There’s no need for a referral – simply contact us by phone, email or in person – and we will take it from there. Sessions are 50-60 minutes in length, and their frequency is tailored to your needs.

Our Low-Cost Service is designed for people in difficult financial circumstances, on a low wage, or in receipt of benefits. It is largely staffed by trainee counsellors who are in their final years of study at a variety of universities and work under close supervision within the Service. Finding Stillness, Silence and Space
WORKSHOPS
with Sarah O’Connor Senior BWY Teacher and Director of MindFlowYoga Teacher Training School.
These workshops look at practices for developing our connection to the already existing stillness, silence and space within us that rests at our heart centre. The practices of pranayama, mantra and meditation from Tibetan Bön Buddhism teach us how to release our ego attachments to emotions such as fear, inadequacy, lack of confidence, anger, resentment and other negative emotional habits. What is left is space – and within this space is joy, which is our true nature. Sunday, 19 May 14.00 for 14.30-17.30 Cost: £35 includes refreshments

WORKSHOPS
Greek Night - Music and Dance from the Greek Islands
with Judy Hammond BEd ANATD MSTAT, a professional dancer who has taught Raqs Sharqi in England and Europe for more than 25 years. Traditional Greek island music is real soul food – full of passion, yearning and exuberance. And as well as being huge fun, dancing in unison in a group has been found to be the single most powerful way to elevate mood and enhance feelings of wellbeing – and the most effective music to achieve this was found to be traditional Greek. Saturday 8 June 19.00 -21.30 Cost: £20 includes refreshments by Nourish

This is a lightly crafted workshop providing space and quietness to explore balance through inner stillness. BALLET FOR KIDS Vickie Lesnick RAD RTS FIDTA LNATD 12 weeks - last classes 20 July Half-term 1 June
These fun classes for children provide a wonderful discipline – improving co-ordination, spatial and body awareness, concentration and physical confidence. The ballet training follows the method taught by the Royal Academy of Dance. Examinations are available for students and there may be opportunities to appear in shows.
Dress comfortably and dance in either bare feet or dance shoes. We regret that after the first class parents will not be able to remain in the classroom. After that session, parents will be asked to leave the room. If you feel your child is not yet mature enough to cope with this, then we would suggest waiting to enrol until they are older..Please note that photos may only be taken with the permission of the tutor; filming will, however, never be permitted.

MINDFULNESSis a gift that you
MBSR Mindful Self-Compassion Mindfulness Yoga
owe yourself! It can immeasurably enrich your life. Mindfulness helps us to come into the present moment, to befriend ourselves and our experience, to develop a wider perspective on our thinking, and to learn new ways of being with the difficulties in our lives.
MINDFULNESS-BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR)
People who practice mindfulness report: • Reduced stress and a greater sense of calm • An enhanced sense of wellbeing • Improved self-esteem and greater confidence • Being less distressed by physical and psychological symptoms • Altered pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with chronic pain • Better ability to focus and concentrate With its roots in Buddhist meditation, MBSR was developed nearly 40 years ago and is the classic course that brought mindfulness into the mainstream. Supported by extensive research, this course has been taught to many thousands of people worldwide.

Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empiricallysupported 8-week course, based on the ground-breaking research of Kristin Neff and the clinical expertise of Christopher Germer. With its foundation in mindfulness, MSC teaches principles and practices of self-compassion that enable us to respond to difficult moments in our lives with kindness, care and understanding. Rapidly expanding research demonstrates that selfcompassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, reduced anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and more satisfying personal relationships. There will be a pre-course phone call with the tutor to help decide if the course is appropriate for you.

PRANAYAMA, MANTRA AND MEDITATION - THE ART OF BREATHING WELL Kate Tomlinson 500 hour MindFlowYoga Qualified Yoga Teacher 12 weeks – last class 16 July
Half-term 4 June Research has shown that positive breath control can have a direct effect on our wellbeing. With conscious breathing, the body relaxes and the mind quietens, while the breath becomes deeper and more efficient. The techniques can be used to reduce stress, too, by switching on the body’s parasympathetic (relaxation) response. This powerful course will take you through the breathing process step by step, teaching you to use awareness and mindfulness to alter your normal breathing habits and build your lung capacity – thereby bringing wide-ranging health benefits.
