Be Mindful…with our programmes in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Originally developed at one of the leading university hospitals in the US over 25 years ago to help manage chronic pain, MBSR’s reputation for helping people to deal with a wide range of problems is now worldwide. Research over two decades has shown that people who complete the course report: • Being better able to relax • Being less distressed by physical and psychological symptoms • Reduced pain levels and an enhanced ability to cope with pain that may not go away • Greater energy and enthusiasm for life • Improved self-esteem

Mindfulness Basics The Basics programme gets you started with simple Mindfulness practices that improve focus and concentration, help you to relax, and reconnect with the experience of your senses. While not a prerequisite for the 8 week programme, Basics is a good starting point for anyone interested in becoming more mindful. Enrolment on Basics entitles you to £10 discount on the full 8-week course. Note that you do not necessarily have to do a Basics course before joining 8-week course. Style is ageless and you can look and feel great whatever your age. Armed with some knowledge and a few practical strategies and perhaps some lifestyle changes, you can look great and feel good whether you are 40, 50 ,60 or beyond. Understanding your body shape, scale, proportion, wardrobe personality and the use of horizontal and vertical lines to create balance are key to being confident and comfortable in your clothes. Once you apply this knowledge dressing will be so much more fun.

T’ai Chi

Richard Lang

T’ai Chi is a jewel – which works on the mind as much as the body. Practised daily by millions worldwide, evidence shows that it: • is of great benefit in improving balance and increasing muscle strength and is therefore recognised by NICE as a useful part of a falls prevention programme. • can benefit the heart and circulatory systems • can significantly reduce stress • can enhance well-being It consists of a series of slow, stylised, dancelike movements which are practised in sequence. Simple – oh so effective – in influencing all areas of one’s life.
