RESORT 2018
PRESS RELEASE
”We possess nothing certainly except the past." Evelyn Wough – Brideshead Revisited For Resort 2018, Roksanda explores her signature play on quintessential opposites, this season with a nostalgic affair between masculine and feminine, and the evolution of innocence to sophistication. Through a push pull of intellectual and feminine proportions, a new definition of beauty is defined with consistent elucidation of what lies beneath. A conversation between silhouette and fabrication demonstrates that distinction. Masculine two piece suits in tweed and wool tailoring and pinstripe converse with delicate oversized silk and seersucker lounge gowns and wide leg pants. Dresses contemplate femininity and are softly draped in oyster and mink with painterly billowing sleeves in delicate silk satin seersucker. While exaggerated skirts with paper bag waists and structural folds, provide an unexpected perspective and a new kind of strength. 70’s tapestries inspire tweeds and are decorated and lined with congregations of embroidered circular broaches wrapped with yarn, some fringed to match with jewellery. For eveningwear, ombre gradients are embroidered with a tapestry needle onto crinkle chiffon as embroidered organic roses yet appear as giant brush strokes floating across the garment as if layers of paint.
Expanding on leather goods, Roksanda introduces her first tote bag as a part of her range of handbags and accessories. Elsewhere, block colours and circles are the signature, and the Neneh Ring bag is continued in buttery soft calves leather with modernist enamel and wood handles. Shoes, rusched mules and boots, in collaboration for a third season with Malone Souliers are seen with square toes and in sorbet colours with block heels.

MATERIALS, COMPONENTS & TECHNIQUES All of our Accessories use the highest quality leathers, sourced from Italy and produced in Florence. The seasonal stories of our Ready-to-Wear collection dictate the theme of the of the Accessories, whilst a superior craftsmanship of materials and components used throughout, synergize the overall aesthetic of the collection. Full Grained Leather
Gold Hardware
This durable leather is soft to touch and ideal for everyday use. Its texturized finish is composed by the traditional Caviar technique used. This, in turn, improves its strength and longevity. It lends itself to bold colours, due to the natural absorption when vegetable dyed.
Our iconic gold hardware is coated in 0.2 Microns of gold plating, symbolising Roksanda’s love for oversized gold jewellery, which appears regularly in her Ready-to-Wear shows.
Full Grained Flat Calf Leather
Contrasting Handles
This Modern, Matt finish is sleek and soft to touch. The leather is vegetable dyed before being ironed to smooth the texture. The Flat Calf leather can be found in our elevated Neneh bag, Dia bag and the Dora bag as well as our slim pouch
As an update to our bestselling Neneh Bag, we introduced the Moda handle, composed of Plexigas & Wooden handles from the tropical trees of West Africa (Triplochiton scleroxylon)
Calf Suede Lining
Contrasting Straps
Each of our Accessories are lined in a luxurious calf suede, in the signature ROKSANDA colour contrast.
Colour-blocking & unexpected textures remains at the very core of ROKSANDA’s DNA. Our signature contrasting Wave & Rope straps can be found on the Besa Bag, Dia Bag & Dora bag.
