SAP FUNDA What is new in SAP? NEW T_CODE: (zmb1a_upd) Bulk Issue Note Upload We were facing the problem of issuing the materials in the bulk quantity. That means at the end of the month when stores person gets the quantities of materials consumed during the month, he has to prepare lots of issue notes in SAP the volume is huge to handle singly. To overcome this constraint, we have developed a BDC in SAP so that if store person get the data, of materials to be issue in excel format from Billing Engineer, it can be directly uploaded in the system. It will help in reducing the time taken to prepare the issue notes in the system. For example, for MAS Singrauli site for each project apprx., 300 issue notes to be prepared in the system at the end of the month. It takes apprx. 6 to 8 hours for a person to do this in SAP MANUALLY. BUT due to NEW BDC introduced the time has drastically reduced to ½ hr. TECHNOLOGY Team Viewer : A Software that binds the team together through the Internet. Business Need: Lots of changes /Process rectification are being introduced in SAP to suite the business requirements. Broadcasting, Training and implementing of these changes to current 35 sites within stipulated time is a real challenge. BUT THANKS TO THE DEVELOPMENT IN COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY. Solution: Our IS Support team has given us a tool “Team Viewer” wherein a person sitting at Cozy Nook can give AUDIO–VISUAL training to the store person ON HIS DESKTOP AT SITE. Due to this the presentation on the trainer desktop at cozy nook will be displayed at trainees desktop and the voice can be reached to them thru mobile phone AND/OR landline phone. As there is clear cut AUDIO-VISUAL effect from both side the presentation can be understand by the end user in the easiest way. Successful Testing: The first instance was successfully done on 15th June 2011 for demonstrating new process of Bulk Issue upload, to Stores people of Singrauli and Trichy site from Cozynook,Pune. Thanks to EDP team Members and participants at MAS Singrauli and MRF Trichy.

How It Works: Team Viewer is one of the best, free remote access and remote desktop sharing software over internet. Team Viewer NATs your machine with an ID number (mapped between your machine's socket and External authorized Team Viewer Server) which actually works as an IP and then its works as an anonymous open proxy for your machine. Actually both the communicating parties know that they are passing through a Proxy Server. (Make sure you have direct internet connection as Team Viewer does not work if it's behind proxy). The main point of being safer side is, Team Viewer uses 128 bits to 256 bits of AES encryption for its communication. It also uses OTP's for session initiation. Team Viewer is free for personal use, but you'll have to buy a license if you are using it for commercial purposes. Benefits: • Geographical Location no limit • Audio & Video support • Data Transfer is possible • Interactive-Both side communication • User Friendly • Time Saving

ARCHITECTURAL WONDER Hoover Dam, originally known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Arizona and Nevada. Hoover Dam is one of the world's largest hydro-electric generating stations. It is one of the most jaw-dropping sites in the US. The dam is named after America's 31st president, Herbert Hoover, who played a large role in bringing the nearby states into agreement about water allocations, settling a 25-year controversy. One greater thing about this dam is, it was completed ahead of schedule. Construction began in 1931 and finished in 1936. Two years ahead of schedule and well under budget.
