POINTS TO PONDER It is a delight to see the safety oriented approach of colleagues. So much so that this month entire issue... (well almost!!) is dedicated to the celebrations of the safety week this time.

Like it is said "sar salamat to pagadi pachas!!!!" "jaan hai to jahan hai!!!"

SAFETY CORNER

41st NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK Atlas Copco, Chakan 41st National Safety week was celebrated at Atlas Copco Site on 4th March 2012. During the program Safety Badges were distributed to staff and workers on site. Flag hoisting was done at 9:15 am at the hands of Mr. Khandekar. After flag hoisting Safety pledge was taken by staff and workers. Safety speech was given by Mr. K.M. Dhokare and Mr. A.S. Khandekar. The program was followed by snacks distribution to the staff and all workers. Quiz competition was organized for labor and staff separately. it received a very enthusiastic participation.

OMPL, Manglore At OMPL, Mangalore, the program started with Flag Hoisting and Safety oath as well. Speech was given by Mr. Nayak DGM OMPL and Mr. Achar RCM TOYO. On this occasion various activities were conducted. Training on Erection of Scaffold was conducted by Mr. Deepjoty, Assistant Engineer of RBIPL. Mr. Avinash Kamble conducted training on Use of Harness and Working at Height. A Quiz competition was conducted for staff and workers. Winners were felicitated in the Prize distribution ceremony that followed. A Blood Donation Camp earmarked the celebrations of this safety week in OMPL. 49 people from staff donated their blood.

41st NATIONAL SAFETY WEEK ASHOK LELAND, Pantanagar Flag was hoisted jointly by staff from Rohan and Ashok Leyland which was followed by safety pledge by all. After the speeches by the seniors from Site and Ashok Leyland, a skit was performed by the staff that focused on safety awareness while working on site. Safety Quiz was also conducted as a part of the program. Amongst several activities there were poster and slogan competitions, demonstrations & training of fire fighting and, working at heights, etc. The program ended with awarding the winners and distribution of sweets.
