REBIRTH OF THE EAGLE It can live up to 70 years But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision

The eagle has the longest life-span of its’ species

Its’ long and sharp beak becomes bent

In its’ 40’s

Its’ long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food

Its’ old-aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, become stuck to its’ chest and make it difficult to fly.

There the eagle knocks its’ beak against a rock until it plucks it out.

The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its’ nest.

And after five months, the eagle takes its’ famous UDAAN of rebirth and lives for

30 more years…..

When its’ new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its’ old-aged feathers.

Then, the eagle is left with only two options: die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150 days.

After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak to grow back and then it will pluck out its’ talons. Many times, in order to survive we have to start a change process.

We sometimes need to get rid of old memories, habits and other past traditions.

Only freed from past burdens, can we take advantage of the present.

ARCHITECTURAL WONDER

Chinese Central Television building The most spectacular project is the China Central Television (CCTV) Headquarters in Beijing that is estimated for completion in 2008 and has been designed by Rem Koolhaas and OMA. This complex is located on a 10hectare site in Beijing's newly defined CBD, a notion, like 'suburbia,' unheard of in China just a few years ago. It also among the first of 300 new towers to be built in this CBD. Of a total floor area of 553,000 square meters, 405,000 square meters comprise the CCTV headquarters tower and the remaining 115,000 square meters make up the Television Cultural centre (RVCC.) This 230meter tall tower is actually a twin-tower, connected on both the ground and at the top as a twisted loop. The irregular grid on the building surface represents, according to the architect, the forces travelling throughout the structure.
