Dear Fellow Rotarians Greetings ! As we approach fast towards the 60th District Conference of our District– PRERANA–to be organized in the first week of January 2019 , the Conference Committee is all geared up to make the District Conference a grand success ! The Chief Guest for the Conference will be Shri Hanmantrao Gaikwad–CMD of Bharat Vikas Group and Rtn D Ravishankar will be the Guest of Honour for Inaugural session. PDG Rtn S Nagendra and his spouse Ann Sujatha will represent R I President Barry and his wife Easther. I made a mention about of the Vocational Training Programme to be undertaken in co-operation with a Corporate in earlier GML’s. I am happy to state that the talks are in the final stage and we will soon sign a MOU for three years with the Corporate for Training of 1,000 unemployed youth per year. As our District Conference Prerana is approaching fast the Registrations for the same are pouring in from all comers of the District and I request you all to kindly register early to avail the Early bird Discount. The District Conference is an occasion to meet old friends, make new ones and reaffirm the ties of friendship between many Rotarians, relax for a while from daily routine , rejuvenate yourself and go back to work! I wish you all a Happy Conference–PRERANA in between 04th , 05th and 06th January 2019! I am happy to inform you that so far we have added Two new Rotary Clubs- R C ICHALKARANJI EXECUTIVE and R C BARDEZ COASTAL to 3170 Rotary family!

We are fast approaching towards Prerana, the Rotary conference 2019, which would be the 60th one. All Sangli clubs have geared up for the same with full vigor. Let us all make it a great success. Rotary News December issue editorial describes the anguish of RIP Barry Rassin about the apathy of Rotarians towards Rotaractors, corruption in some matching grant projects and DG election complaints. Rotarians should know how to accept defeat gracefully. The shameful practice of phantom clubs was also mentioned by him. He concluded by saying that we need to drive away these black sheep. RID C Basker has impressed the importance of wellness in Rotary as the physical & mental health of a Rotary club. Lack of effective communication was one of his concerns. Visit of RIP Barry Rassin to Chandigarh has been highlighted in the issue with his part in a peace rally, interaction with our very own PRIP Raja Saboo and inauguration of a Rotary Blood bank. RIPN Sushil Gupta has described Rotary as his stress buster, siting it as the reason behind his ever-booming laughter. RID Shekhar Mehta & PRIP Kalyan Banerjee have interviewed him & guess what? Our own Mumbai Is his most favorite destination! RIPN Sushil Gupta Was felicitated in Mumbai and you can see our own DG Ravikiran sharing the Dias with him. Bravo! Preeti Verma Lal has described Narappa Festival at Leh in great detail with very useful hints fot tourists.
