MINNESOTA RAIL TRAILS

Northern Minnesota has a near mythical appeal. Boasting thousands of miles of bike trails, it’s a cycling hotspot. On this tour, you traverse four of Northern Minnesota’s best paved trails: the Mesabi Trail, the Paul Bunyan Trail, the Heartland Trail, and the Willard Munger Trail. And you enjoy scenery, wildlife and rich local history.

This area is home to legendary lumberjacks, to a rich mining history, and to an abundance of diverse scenery and wildlife. You pedal through forests, pastures, and quaint towns. Pass alongside bogs, creeks, and lakes galore. Minnesota, after all, is known as the “Land of 10,000 Lakes,” though some would argue that number is considerably higher.

Start from Duluth and wind your way along trails and towns where glaciers shaped the land — leaving abundant lakes, rivers and waterfalls — and where fragrant forests now thrive. That legacy has provided ample opportunities for outdoor recreation such as fishing, paddling, hiking and cycling!

From your bike saddle and nightly lodgings, you enjoy pleasant towns and quiet views of splendid North Woods scenery ... and listen for the iconic call of the loon floating across pristine waters. Come visit Minnesota with us by bike.
