IRELAND IRELAND – WESTPORT & HIKING

Ireland’s west has a network of winding roads through fishing villages, past thatched-roof cottages and by the ocean — with views of magical, mistcovered mountains. Enjoy a medieval castle, Stone Age ruins, lively Irish music and warm hospitality. This tour showcases the Connemara region with an added bonus option for a hike up the famous Croagh Patrick.

Meet in Galway for a shuttle to Clifdon, where you spend two nights. Then start your first ride to explore the Errislannon Peninsula. Stroll in Clifdon for tempting shopping and live music. Next cycle south and see Connemara ponies, secluded beaches and the wild North Atlantic in the distance.

Spin past castles, mountain views and more ... to your next cozy inn for two nights — in Tully Cross. Cycle along Killary Harbor catching great views of the Maamturk Mountains. Visit Kylemore Abbey and its 6-acre walled garden.

On Day 5 there’s an option to bike ... or hike up Ireland’s “holy” mountain, Croagh Patrick, weather permitting.

On Day 6 you bike the Great Western Greenway and on the Wild Atlantic Way, with splendid views and cycling. Then finish your tour on Day 7 with a shuttle to the train in Westport or Galway’s bus or train station for departures.
