A LETTER FROM YOUR LTG Hey, Blue Devils! Happy new Year! It’s finally 2019! In Key Club, not only does January mean a new year, it means election season is here! Conclave 2019 will be on January 20 at the Danville Grange Hall! Every year, we gather with Division 26 North for our January DCM at the Grange to elect our next Lt. Governor. In addition, Conclave is where anyone interested in running for District Office may seek endorsement. For anyone interested in running for Lt. Governor, it’s not too late to register as a candidate! Remember to fill out your Intent to Run form found on the Cyberkey and the Lt. Governor’s Service Agreement. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested. Club elections are coming up soon too! Most club elections will take place in February. For those of you running, good luck! I know it may be stressful and dramatic, but please remember to stay calm and respectful. For those of you who are not running, attend elections! Elections are only valid if at least 50% of the club is represented. Also, District Convention is coming up! From April 12-14, over 2000 Key Clubbers from around California, Nevada, and Hawai’i will gather in Ontario, California for a weekend of workshops, awards, a dance, and the election of our next District Executives! Make sure you talk to your club officers about fundraising for the event and registering. Finally, this month I challenge you to make one of your New Year’s Resolutions to be something involved with service. Whether it be raising $400 dollars for PTP or attending a service project twice a month, put some of your free time into serving your home, school, and community this year. Thanks for reading! Yours in Service,
Hey Blue Devils ! Happy New Year !! I feel like 2018 passed by so slowly, yet it also ended in the blink of an eye. I hope you all had a happy and safe New Years celebration, and I hope 2019 will be an amazing year for you!! For those of you graduating this year, I can’t believe we’ve made it this far! Thank you for a wonderful term so far, this has been the best Key Club term I’ve served in and I’m so glad that I have been way more active than I have been in the past. For those of you who are underclassmen, there are still so many opportunities for you to be active this term and in terms to follow. Step out of your comfort zone and run for a DLT position !! Good luck to those who are running for LTG, I hope you had a great time at CTC. Now that there are only a few months left in the term, and Conclave and DCON are closer than before. Stay tuned for more info on DCON later in this newsletter! As always, I can’t thank you all enough for your continuous love and support on these newsletters. I love you all !!!! <3 With a spark for Service,

by Casey Chang, Amador Valley The November DCM of the Thanks-KEY-ving Potluck is one of my favorite Key Club events, next to Fall Rally North, that I have attended so far. The jokes, the laughs, and the smiles we all shared made me thankful that I decided to join Key Club in my school. We all came together to bond and become closer as a family by playing games, doing
activities, and doing community service. The club officers were successful in creating a safe and friendly environment so that we could make new friends. I am glad to have gotten close with other Key Club members and met other people who yearn to help the community. I can’t wait to see what there is in store for the next DCMs.
The tree lighting event at the Dublin Civic Center is one of the event that I look forward to going every single year. Since sophomore year, I participated in the Christmas tree lighting event and every single time it’s a felt like a new experience. This year, the familiar faces of the people of Dublin come back with their children to see the tree light up then come indoors to a delightful time with family and friends where homemade cookies, hot chocolate and coffee or tea is served. The people were full of smiles and joy, truly bringing the holiday spirits. As an upperclassmen I was able to enjoy and observe the lower class members passionate and full of youth to serve our Dublin community. The event truly reminded me once again why we serve the public.
