On August 23rd members of Las Lomas Key Club gathered through Zoom to transcribe historical documents for the Smithsonian. After quick introductions we got to work, and I transcribed a journal from a scientist in Alaska. It was super interesting! We also took a brief skribbl.io break halfway through the event so we wouldn't tire out our brains. - Jade Kessinger, Las Lomas - photo submitted by Basia Young, Las Lomas

Just like last year, Las Lomas Key Club made some dog toys out of old t-shirts. Luckily I still had two big pajama shirts I hadn't cleaned out during quarantine. At this one hour event we braided the dog toys or wrote letters to workers at an elderly home while discussing favorite tv shows and debating whether you would want to live one year as a pigeon or with five pigeons in your room (among other fun topics). - Jade Kessinger, Las Lomas

In the Free Rice Volunteer event this month, all of us participants got together in a zoom call, put on some music, and hopped on the free rice app where answering questions correctly donated grains of rice for the organization. We joined a party with all the participants which allowed us to see how many grains of rice everyone donated, and how much grains of rice we donated in total as a whole. It was an overall amazing experience knowing you’re doing something to help the community and the sprinkle of competition definitely made things thrilling. - Autumn Le, Dublin The beginning of the year means new Key Club members! California Key Club is promoting the club to future members by posting one Instagram post each day of the week leading up to our first meeting. Using the hashtag #roadtokeyclubweek, each post gives people a look into what Key Club does throughout the year, with themes such as "Leadership Opportunities" and "Favorite Key Club Memories". We hope that this attracts many new members to Key Club to experience the community and fun that the club brings! - Eunice Oh, California
In the month of August, some Amador Key Club Members went to the August DCM. There, they reviewed goals of the year and announced members and officers of the month. The officer of the month was Emma Le, an officer from Amador's Key Club! Near the end of the DCM, the hosts organized a series of icebreakers. These consisted of games such as taboo. It was great bonding experience. - Sunny Liu, Amador Valley
