Can you believe that 2021 is almost over? At the time of writing this, it is still 2021, but I honestly can't believe that this year is basically over. Lots of important things happened to me this year (maybe even more than any other year), for example getting more involved in Key Club and even being appointed as DNE! This brings me to my next thought... the term is almost over :(

news

Now that the term is ending soon, it will be more important than ever to start getting more involved! Elections will happen soon, so I wish everyone participating good luck! On a *less* stressful note, I hope everyone is enjoying their winter break! I think this winter break, I wanna get back in shape LOL and maybe cut down on the junk food (although I probably won't) I'm excited to start hanging out with my friends and being able to spend more time with family now that I won't have to worry about school anymore :D Also, I'd like to apologize for the lack of a monthly feature for this newsletter! Finals week really got the best of me, so I wasn't able to send out a Google Form this month. Look forward to next month's feature though!! Until next time... LETTER FROM

YOUR LTG

Happy New Year, Blue Devils! Welcome to 2022! I hope everyone had an amazing winter break and was able to take a much-needed rest. A new year comes with new resolutions, a time to reflect on our choices in the previous year, and an opportunity to improve for the coming. Going into 2022, rather than setting unreasonable and unachievable goals, use 2022 as a chance to take care of yourself and to do what you want. If there's anything I learned from 2021, it's that life's too short to worship others' opinions. Take this (albeit, unsolicited) advice and use it to better your own mental health in this new year.

In addition to a new year, January also opens the doors to elections!

you're interested in running for a c officer position (or even LTG), don hesitate to shoot your shot! You'll never know what may happen :). Have a Happy New Year, and tak your chances, bloo devils!

Serving with LOVE,

Joyce Tong Division 26 South Lieutenant Gove d26s.ltg@cnhkeyclub.org

CLUB RECAPS acalanes*

Communiaction, and planning

amador valley

This month our club only held one meeting due to the weird schedules and days off interfering with our meeting days. We made thank you cards for the staff at the Blood Drive Center. Our president, Lois Hong, started working with Cal High for an interkey event on December 11th!

california

November was a great month! Our club meetings went on as usual, and our members made. So. Many. Cranes. I'm excited to see the final results of our paper crane initiative. Also, our club is planning an interkey with Amador! All in all, a very chill month, especially with Thanksgiving break. I hope yours went well! Don't overwork yourself :o

campolindo

We have been starting a new event where we make dog toys and cards which we have been continuing over the break so that members will have more time to make stuff.

dougherty valley

This month, we kept up our communications with the LTG and had a handful of members/officers attend the only service opportunity of November. This month, we saw a decrease in the amount of club participation due to the many holiday breaks of November. We look forward to attending CTC and getting our member participation back up!

CLUB RECAPS | 7

Our club was very eventful considering the shortage of full weeks we had of November. At the beginning of November, we did member training by holding a Key Club 101 event leading to more and more members asking many questions about the origins of Key Club. We hope to do one like this next year with new members. We still haven't planned a fundraiser but we are most likely going to start looking due to Christmas starting soon and the holidays arriving quicker than we expect. We will also have some relaxation events especially before Finals which will be awesome for people as well. Finally, I am very glad that we incorporated a meeting and an in-person service event this month despite two weeks being cut out due to break. I am very proud of ouraccomplishments so far and I can't wait to see what we do next!

las lomas

November was a great month for LLKC! We hosted a service event (to craft cards of kindness for teachers) by the name of "Thanksgiving Grams", which had large turnout! This school year, the turnout at our club meetings has generally been quite large and we have had the most members in our history. I think it really shows how students at Las Lomas are very engaged in community service. We also had a fun "Club Bonding", where members got to learn more about the officers and each other! I would say that our Member of the Month would be Norah Hom (the LLKC treasurer) because she did an excellent job in engaging the members to pay dues!

This month our officers were pretty busy with college applications, but we are planning to do a fundraiser within the next week! Just waiting for the approval!

This month MVKC held a restaurant fundraiser and participated well in the SRV Kiwanis Food Drive Volunteering event!

san ramon valley

This month we had a lot of days off including break, so many people were out of town and were unable to attend service events. this is also why we only had one meeting this month. Hopefully next month we will get more participation, including the officers. We are still trying to get members to pay their dues. However, we did have a cheering competition to get our members to participate in club spirit. Almost all of our members participated in this activity. Thank you to the club Secretaries for submitting a response in the "Club Snapshot" of the Monthly Report Form! Learn about what other clubs have been up to!

*response given by club President/VP with prompt of "What has the club you serve done well in during the past month?" due to lack of response in MRF.

The event that I attended today was called the Grateful Card Making Event. It was on November 17th, 2021 during lunch after fmp. This event was hosted by The Dublin Key Club and it consisted of everyone making cards for people we feel grateful towards for Thanksgiving. This event was nice and it made me feel included as a Key Club member as everyone was making cards together along with interacting and having a good time with each other. - Shradda Vanaparthy, Dublin

The virtual open volunteering event was very peaceful and nice. Key clubbers who attended were able to participate in any asynchronous volunteering event, such as Freerice, CMN card making, and Math for Unicef. As the host, I played a lo-fi playlist for background music as everyone was doing the event. The zoom event reminded me of the covid quarantine days when key club members combated the unprecedented times and completed community service together :) - Maahika Samudrala, Dublin
