Hello my Lovely Key Clubbers!

I had an awesome month filled with lots of Key Club. I attended Summer Board with the rest of the district staff and lieutenant governors which was an absolute blast. We planned some for DCON and have chosen the theme! It will be revealed to you all soon and I can’t wait!

I also visited my Kiwanis a lot this month and went to a planning meeting with Johnson High School. I love meeting with y’all so let me know when I can visit.

Also, we have a lot coming up so remember to stay in touch with me and keep checking e-mails because FTC, Dues collection, and much more is coming up super quick!!

I was honored to receive top 10 Lt. Governor at Summer Board. I truly appreciate your support in this. I can’t do it without YOU!

I’ve decided to have monthly phone conferences with all club presidents by phone each month because of the success I had with the past month.

Each president should email me a date and time that is good for a conference by the 20th of each month. If you have not emailed me by that date I will start calling. I want to have a conference with each president by the 31st of each month. Every month I’ll put the conference agenda right here. I promise calls won’t last long and I just want to do this so that there is a stream of communication with all of my clubs.

-Are you ready for the upcoming school year as far as Key Club goes?

Key Clubbin’ Correspondence Awards The Key Clubber Correspondence Awards is an incentive and recognition program for key clubbers in Division 5 that do an outstanding job communicating with me throughout the year. At my last PCM probably at the end of March or beginning of April the key clubber and club with the highest points will earn a prize . I know this may be cheesy but I want to make sure that we all understand the importance of communication.

Point System Event Attendee (ex. PCM, social, DCON): Worth 5pts Club Visit: Worth 4pts Phone Call (including conferences): Worth 3pts E-mail: Worth 2pts Other (FB like, FB message, Twitter action): Worth 1pt Tips: -Make sure you are reporting -attend events!!!

-Respond quickly to emails -Invite your club to my FB page, they earn points too

Division 5 Spotlight!

-Met with the awesome Johnson Key club officers at Starbucks to help plan the new year. I loved meeting y’all!

-I attended a Kiwanis meeting with two officers from JECA. The Kiwanis definitely loved the new faces.

-JECA Key Club was recognized district wide for their Ramp Building Service project!!! Congrats guys!

parent nights and promote your club as well as hang up signs and make announcements.

What’s the District Project?

The district project this year is to raise funds to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.

This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.

For just $1.80 you can vaccinate a woman and her future babies! Start raising money for Eliminate now! Look for the project ideas I send out as well!

What’s the Governors project?

This year’s governor project is to spread antibullying awareness around Texas and Oklahoma.

Each month I will start sending idea sheets to help you spread anti bullying awareness around your school!

Soon we will also have the official Governor’s project completion form ready so that you can show the district what you did to spread awareness!

(YOF) YOUTH OPPORTUNITY FUND Use the Kiwanis YOF to help fund one of your club’s community service projects. YOF will donate $200 to $2,000 to assist your club in any service project.

THE KINETIC KEY CLUBBER Do you want to be a key clubber that knows what to do to serve their community? A key clubber that’s always moving and caring for others? Then come to the FTC!!

When: 10am to 3pm on Sat. Sept. 14, 2013 Location: San Marcos H.S. in San Marcos, TX Who: All officers, interested and active members, and faculty advisors as well as interested Kiwanis For: To learn how to be the best Key Clubber you can be of course!

Bring: pen and writing material for notes, super hero attire, a dollar for lunch and materials cost Theme: Superhero’s!
