Sometimes the reason we’re frustrated is because we’re trying to change things that only God can change. You can’t make people do what’s right. You can pray for them, you can encourage them, but they have their own free will. Don’t let them steal your joy. You are not responsible for other people’s happiness. You cannot keep everyone in your life happy. You’re responsible for your own happiness. There should be something you’re believing for where you are relentless. You aren’t moved by how impossible it looks, you’re not discouraged by how long it’s taking, you don’t give up because people told you no. Your attitude is, “If I have to believe my whole life, I’m going keep believing. I’m not going to take no for an answer. I’m not going to settle for less than. I’m going to keep pursuing what God put in my heart.” You can’t go by what you see or you’ll get discouraged. You may not see anything except dark clouds; everywhere you look there’s no visibility, no sign of how it’s going to work out. Remember what God promised you. There’s not a storm you’re facing that’s a surprise to God. There’s not a problem you’re in that He can’t get you out of. Sometimes, God proves His love to us by what He’s not letting us have. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. We just have to spend a little more time in the waiting room: growing, developing, getting experience, learning to trust Him, learning to forgive, learning to be good to those that have wronged us, being mature enough to wait with a good attitude. The sooner we pass these tests, the sooner God will release the things that belong to us. Joel Osteen

Jimbo, New and easy test for Covid - 19 is doing the rounds and its simple, quick and positive (or negative if you see what I mean). Take a glass and pour a decent dram of your favorite whisky (gin or rum) into it; then see if you can smell it, if you can then you are halfway there: then drink it and if you can taste it then it is reasonable to assume you are currently free of the virus. I tested myself 9 times last night and was virus free every time thank goodness. I will have to test myself again today though as I have developed a headache which can also be one of the symptoms. giff1500@ Hey Jimbo, Lisa and I just finished the Georgia Mountain Moonshine CruizIn. We had such a great show in the mountains this year. It was our biggest show ever in Georgia. We had such a good time seeing and visiting with all our cruiser buddies. We did two full days of cruising this year. We learned a lot about social distancing and hand washing stations which we'll use in Panama City Beach at Emerald Coast Cruizin. We'll be heading down to PCB after Labor Day to get everything cranked up and we can't wait to see everyone November 8-14 at Emerald Coast Cruizin! Jimbo, Everyone tells a white lie on occasion, it’s just a question of why. Some white lies save relationships, some ease a hectic situation, and others buy us time. The list could go on forever. Stretching the truth is a natural component of human instinct because it’s the easy way out. We all do it, so there is no reason to deny it. Honestly, I think the world is probably a better place because of our white lies. As long as we aren’t hurting others or breaking the law, these innocent lies can make life more pleasant. They can absorb potential friction between our varying personalities and vacillating moods as we nudge into one another on the quest through our daily routine. Most of these white lies only stretch an interpretation of what the truth actually is anyways. Given our rigid optimism to each lead a tailored ideal life, white lies simply cushion us from ourselves. Here’s my list of the 15 most common white lies and why we tell them: 1. It wasn’t me! – Because some things just aren’t worth taking credit for. 2. The table will be ready in 5 minutes. – Because it sounds a lot better than 15 minutes. 3. Oh, yeah. That makes sense. – Because option B involves admitting that I am clueless. 4. Thank you so much! I just love it! – Because telling someone that their gift sucked would make me look like an insensitive jerk. 5. Yeah, you look great in that dress. – Because it’s better than being slapped. 6. Oh, things would have been different if I was there! – Because I’m Superman and I can always make a difference… or at least that’s how I want others to perceive of me. 7. No, officer… I have no idea how fast I was going. – Because claiming ignorance is sometimes better than admitting to insubordination. 8. I’m 29. – Because 29 is like 20 years younger than 30. 9. Yeah, I’ll start working on that ASAP! – Because telling you I have 10 things to do first would just irritate you.

TheEasyCajun Jimbo, Just wanted to let you know the rioting in major cities across the U.S. has spread to The Villages, Florida, a retirement community of 100,000. Looters in Florida's friendliest hometown have especially broken into stores that sell items like laxatives, vitamins, hearing aids, reading glasses, energy drinks and surgical stockings. The thugs were easily caught and arrested since they were using their walkers and golf carts to flee. The protests have been limited to the evening hours because most of the lawbreakers either had doctor's appointments during the day or rioting would have interfered with their naps. The marches didn't last that long because many of the demonstrators had to get home to pee. In many cases, the demonstrators simply forgot why they were even there. Officials considered a curfew starting at 9 p.m. But since that's the time when most of the residents go to bed anyway, it was decided that it wasn't needed. Community leaders concluded that part of the problem was that residents were restless because they had too much time on their hands since the recreation centers, pools, theaters, boutique stores and especially the bars were closed due to the corona virus. I Have a Case of Corona Have a Case of Papst, Too!
The last few months have brought us challenges that we have never faced before. I hope this collection of bits and pieces that have crossed my desk can bring smile to your face and uplift your spirits. People struggle in different ways based upon their individual experiences. I pray that God blesses you all. We are now into our 6th month of defeating COVID-19. These words make me laugh. These words make me sad. These words make me angry. These words signify a total change in how I now view the world. This disease has changed society forever. I think we need to laugh and smile a little. I hope these words help. x So let me get this straight, there's no cure for a virus that can be killed by sanitizer and hand soap? x Is it too early to put up the Christmas tree yet? I have run out of things to do. x When this virus thing is over with, I still want some of you to stay away from me. x If these last months have taught us anything, it's that stupidity travels faster than any virus on the planet, particularly among politicians and bureaucrats. x Just wait a second - so what you're telling me is that my chance of surviving all this is directly linked to the common sense of others? You are kidding, right? x People are scared of getting fined or arrested for congregating in crowds, as if catching a deadly disease and dying a horrible death wasn't enough of a deterrent. x If you believe all this will end and we will get back to normal just because we reopen everything, raise your hand. Now slap yourself with it. x Another Saturday night in the house and I just realized the trash goes out more than I do. x Whoever decided a liquor store is more essential than a hair salon is obviously a bald-headed alcoholic. x Remember when you were little and all your underwear had the days of the week on them? That would be helpful right now. x The spread of COVID-19 is based on two factors: 1. How dense the population is…and 2. How dense the population is. x Remember all those times when you wished the weekend would last forever? Well, wish granted. HAPPY? x It may take a village to raise a child, but I swear it's going to take an entire vineyard to home school one. x I did a big load of pajamas so I would have enough clean work clothes for the week. x Quarantine has me realizing why my dog gets so excited to see something moving outside, or going for a car ride, or a walk. x Due to the quarantine, I will be telling only inside jokes. x Being quarantined with a talkative child is like having an insane parrot superglued to your shoulder. x When I told my 3 year old we could not go out, she asked if it was because of the Corona Pirates. x I used to spin the toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now I turn it like I am cracking a safe. x I need to practice social distancing from the refrigerator.
x Homeschooling is going well.
Two students suspended for fighting and one teacher fired for drinking on the job. x I don't think anyone expected that when we changed the clocks we would go from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone. x This morning I saw my neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into the house and told my dog…we laughed a lot. x I struck up a conversation with a spider today. He was nice. He is a web designer. x I put liquor bottles in every room. Tonight, I am going to dress up and go bar hopping. x I get to take the garbage out. I am so excited. I don't know what to wear. x Strawberries: Some have 210 seeds and some have 235. Who knew? x I watched the birds fighting over a worm. The Cardinals lead the Blue Jays 3 to 1. x If you keep a glass of wine in each hand, you cannot accidentally touch your face. x Does anyone else feel like they have cooked dinner 395 times this month? x What is similar about COVID-19 and sex? I know people who have such poor social skills they cannot get either. x Welcome to the new, “Dark Ages”. x China was the first to get the virus. They got it right off the bat. x I just wrote a song about COVID-19, but I can never let anyone hear it. It is too catchy. It will be with you for weeks. x This is the first year I am not going to Europe because of the Coronavirus. Normally I don't go because I am too poor. x Please help me come to terms with the new me because I am just not sure who I am anymore. Keep smiling. We have been through bad things before in our lives. SUCCESS IS GETTING UP ONE MORE TIME THAN YOU FALL DOWN.

With so many events cancelling, I'm beginning to wonder if we should just take a vote and cancel the remainder of the year and start fresh with 2021. I know that's not possible but at this point it sure would be nice to have a new start. September 30 could be New years eve, and October 1 would now be Jan 1. Think about this for just a second. The somewhat cold months would be in what was the summer, no more complaining about the heat. Ok it's not feasible, but I am sure ready for this dampanic to be out of here. On the plus side I have been somewhat busy in the Old Carriage House. Making

steady pro gress on the Big Truck project. I’ve been having a few issues with parts deliveries from out of town suppliers though. Seems they too are impacted either by lack of employees due to layoffs or sickness. I also think in at least one instance some of the remaining employees are either over worked or just can't read the packing label. Case in point, I ordered some hubcaps for the new wheels, took two tries to get them, first attempt was a rim. Yes, a wheel for a Chrysler product to be exact. Definitely weighed more than 4 hubcaps. They finally arrived after being shipped to the wrong address twice. I can only imagine the frustrations these suppliers have on their end too. I might also add that the adage (for me anyway), cheap parts aint good, and good parts aint cheap, still rings true today. You definitely get what you pay for. Also, many of our parts production operations are now gone to China. It is at times rather difficult to buy American made or American remanufactured parts. Maybe we should all go back to the days of our youth and support the local Junkyards. I should say, Recycle/Salvage emporiums, (sounds a lot less greasy). But then again many of those parts were of China origin too. I guess we just can't escape those few

facts. I just can't for the life of me accept all of these issues as the New Normal. This is definitely new (to me anyway) and just not at all an acceptable normal. Who knows, maybe in 5 or 10 years we will look back at this and remind ourselves how we were all saddled with the task of trying to stop an invisible enemy that locked down personal freedoms, reduced air travel to almost nonexistence, and completely destroyed many small businesses. And remind ourselves to never go through another dampanic again. We should try to send this China Virus on a one-way flight or ship, right back to where it all originated, I do believe most of us have had enough of this already. Enough of this rambling from me. It’s well past time we get back to doing car stuff again. So far, one of my favorite events is on schedule The Street Rod Nationals in Louisville Kentucky is still on. Also, my next favorite, Cruisin the Coast, should also be in full swing again in October. Lets just hope we can pull these few things off with minimal hiccups. I am in need of some car/truck and bike show therapy. From the overstaffed (army of one) underpaid and oft times overworked Carriage House, Later Gizmo
The last few Month's pretty much most all shows/cruise-in's have been cancelled. But always remember you can catch up on your cars maintenance and catch up on the lil improvements or modifications you've been wanting to do. Another option is just take off on a Saturday/Sunday pack a Lil ice chest with drinks, snacks and lunch and cruise the backroads of your area. For me/Glenda this is pretty much anything within a couple hours ride. Depending on the direction we can be East to Mobile, Grand Bay, Fairhope. South to Chalmette, St.Bernard area. West to Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville, Manchac. North to Picayune, Poplarville, Hattiesburg.. Just a way to keep enjoying the cars and sightseeing. The pictures this month are all windshield views from some of our Interstate and Hwy 90 runs in the last few weeks. Remember to watch for our friends out riding their bikes also. Allen.

We had a great turnout at the Lucedale Edwards Drugs Cruise In. We miss those who did not come but were glad to see those who did. Everyone practiced social distancing and wearing mask, even though it felt like we were in an oven!
Well it was not only old cars/trucks at the Breakfast. We had some Hula Hooper’s showing off their skills. Ava was the pro and Emily Carmichael from Slidell is a fast learner. She and her brother, Alex, are visiting Pawpaw Mike Lachaussee for the Cruise In. Once again, we enjoyed the welcoming hospitality of Edwards Drugs. It was nice to cool off inside and eat at Rocky’s 50’s Diner. Thanks Edwards Drugs!

Andy and Lisa Simmons of Mobile made a first time visit to the Cruise In with this RED Chevy S10. It has a 454 under the hood and is stock with cold air. In addition to this good-looking truck, they have a ’69 and 2 ’70 S10s, a ’67 and a ’69 Camaro. They are in the process of restoring a ’69 and ’71 Nova. Obviously, both are Chevy fans and stay busy. We are always happy to see NEW old car/truck lovers. Come again.

This ’51 GMC truck owned by Roy and JoAnn Jenkins made its maiden voyage to the breakfast. Roy says it is a project that has more work but was glad to get out so we all could admire it. Larue Flurry painted the truck a pretty orange, a color JoAnn did not pick but one Roy liked. Chad Shearer helped on this project and Roy gives him and Larue credit for being able to bring it to the breakfast. Roy did some of the mechanical work on this 454 Chevy engine and has plans to install cold air and redo the upholstery. Even though there is more work to be done, we all thought it looked great and was glad they shared their ride with us first.
Chad Shearer brought his wife, Amanda’s, ’72 Chevy SS. Chad said it was a partial restore when they got it. I am sure most restorers and builders would rather not start in the middle of someone else’s project, but Chad pulled it off and wound up with this eye-catching beauty. It has a small block 350 with a B&M blower. It also has a sharp looking paint job. Thanks for coming Chad and hope to see you again. It looks like car shows are starting to make a comeback, but with our weird normal now, (I like the term weird normal better than the new normal, because I want all this COVID stuff to go away), we can only hope the trend of car shows coming back continues and that prospect is so exciting!

Our first show back will be the rescheduled Spring Street Festival Car Show in New Roads, LA, down on the False River. I was in town the day before the show in the spring, with the Hot Rod Show trailer ready to go, when the Louisiana Governor pulled the plug on the show. We will make it up Saturday September 19, see you all in New Roads for an incredible car show.
I also just added another show to the line-up, The Garden Party at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. It will be on Wednesday, Oct. 7 during Cruisin The Coast from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. That is right after the Biloxi Block Party, head on over to the beautiful gardens at the front of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. Joe and Amanda Martin from the hit TV show Iron Resurrection will be there with a meet and greet along with the beautiful Courtn e y Hans en fr om t he TV Shows Overhaulin’ and Power Nation, all three my most favorite celebrities to work with, food and drink specials will be available, dancing, classic cars, giveaways and of course a great music show with my Terry Mason’s Hot Rod Show. This event will be a great way to chill out and wind down after the Biloxi Block Party. Terry Mason’s Hot Rod Show will also be performing at the MS Coast Coliseum again this year Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the Cruisin The Coast Swap Meet. Rakes and Lisa Parrish just finished the Georgia Mountain Moonshine Cruiz-In. It was the biggest ever, with two days of cruizin through those beautiful Georgia mountains. Great entertainment Friday and Saturday, of course Saturday was the car show day. Rakes said they learned a lot about the social distancing and hand washing stations that will also be in place for Emerald Coast

Cruizin in Panama City Beach November 11 through November 14. A lot of people have asked… and Emerald Coast Cruizin is still on, yes it is…Rakes and Lisa are wide open working on the show and will be heading down to PCB after Labor Day and said they can’t wait to see everyone! Look for their posts on Facebook starting in September.
That catches everyone up on the car shows, on a personal note Elizabeth got her first job offer this week, so we have the bird in the hand so to speak. Elizabeth has two more offers to come before she has to make a decision on which job to take. Once we know the job location, we’ll start looking for a house together. Once the house is secured and moved into we’ll begin the search for a 1934 Ford coupe. We still spend the weekends together, but in a couple of weeks we’ll be together forever! We have been having a blast every weekend doing fun stuff together. We have kayaked, rode bicycles, gone to three different beaches and gone to eat at new places.
The next couple of weeks will be hectic, Elizabeth will start her new job, we’ll move her in with me, start the search for our new house, move massive amounts of furniture around and get everything set up for our life together. We both believe it was the Lord’s destiny for us to have found each other and for everything to fall into place so perfectly. Pleas e als o pray f or Elizabeth’s 95 year old Mother as she is now in Hospice care. Pray for her comfort and the comfort of her family. Elizabeth’s family has been so nice, warm and sweet in inviting me into the family. I now have three sisters, where I never had even one before. When I wondered… for four years… if I could ever truly be happy again, I have found happiness beyond my wildest dreams. For four years it seemed my life was on pause, I prayed to God to send me the right person, he would respond to be patient. We’ll see you at a car show down the road! til next month… (photo of Elizabeth and me with NASCAR driver #9 Chase Elliott and a photo of Chase’s race car) Elizabeth had never been to a stock car race, Five Flags Speedway was holding a Blizzard Series race, it’s a big deal because it is a qualifier for the SNOWBALL Derby. So we went to the races, talking with Tim and Pat Bryant at the track, Pat said you know Chase Elliott is here tonight, she told me which Super Late Model pit I could find him at. Chase came down to watch on his private jet, he was dressed as you see, very few people would know it’s him. This photo was taken on a Friday night before the NASCAR Cup Series raced on Sunday in New Hampshire, so Chase headed to New Hampshire I’m sure Friday night or early Saturday morning. It was good to see him again, Chase won the SNOWBALL Derby in 2011, he also won a million dollar payday a few weeks before this photo, winning the NASCAR All-Star Race at Bristol. RESORT RIDES This 1966 Ford Mustang is Dawn Hardy’s baby. In fact, that’s what she calls her, “Baby”. Dawn works as a secretary in the Pearl River Resort security department and has been with the Resort for 25 years. Dawn and her husband Travis were at a car show in Tupelo back in 2015 when they saw this sauterne gold classic for sale. “I’ve always wanted a Mustang, ever since I was a kid and I just had to have her”, she said. This 289 V-8, matching numbers car, looks like it did 54 years ago. It’s 1966 all over again when she cruises through town, groovin’ to the DJ’s stacks of wax, heading out to a car show.

40 YEARS! It all started in 1979 when two partners from Texas got the idea that the Mississippi Gulf Coast would appreciate having quality, made-in-house, quick-service Mexican food readily available to them! With that thought, Jimmie Johnson, his wife Jean and Lynn Parkhill made the 800+ mile trip from Texas to Gulfport, Mississippi and opened the first Taco Sombrero in 1980 on Pass Road in Gulfport‌.with a wing, a prayer and a lot of faith and hard work. A couple of years later, they expanded their restaurant with a second location to the once-remote area known as Orange Grove on Highway 49 North. Carl Starks, a resident of the area, was our first customer. The rest, as they say, is history! Taco Sombrero quickly became a staple for thousands of Gulfport residents. While Jimmie, Jean and their daughter didn't make Gulfport their permanent home, they continued to travel back and forth from Texas over the years leaving Lynn and his wife, Vicki, to run the day-to-day operations of the expanding business. Lynn and Vicki have raised their 4 children in Gulfport and are dedicated business owners and partners in the Mississippi Gulf Coast community. The restaurant prides itself on being family-based having had all of their children work for the business and now employing the third family generation to the business. While Lynn has been the force behind Taco Sombrero for the last 40 years, its future rests safely in the hands of his management team that includes his general manger Mike Partridge (a 35-year employee) as well as two of Lynn's sons , David Parkhill and Tyler Morgan. Lynn and Vicki are fixtures in the restaurants on a daily basis. She handles all of the restaurants social media accounts and on almost any given weekday, you'll see Lynn's smiling face at the Highway 49 store in Gulfport! 16

In 2016, Taco Sombrero made the decision to franchise and opened their first franchised store in Biloxi. The Pass Road location is owned by a former employee, Danny Mercer and his wife, Windy. They were the perfect partner to launch the new chapter of growth for Taco Sombrero. In April of 2019, the second franchise location opened in Ocean Springs giving Mississippi Gulf Coast residents three locations to enjoy the fresh taste of Quality Mexican food! The Taco Sombrero team loves their customers and prides themselves on being a local hangout for the high school students, a special anniversary spot for so many married couples and a destination for numerous visitors who make the restaurant their first stop when coming to the Coast for vacation or to visit family and friends. Welcome back everyone!!! What a month!!! What a bunch of craziness we are living through! I hope you all (and your families) are well! Each day I just pray that we see things going back towards what we once considered “normal” life! I could say a bunch right here..but I won’t, because that’s not why y’all are reading this article…so I’ll just say this… A wise person once said, “The remarkable thing about God is that when you fear God, you fear nothing else, whereas if you do not fear God, you fear everything else.” I find HUGE power in that sentence!!! Take a moment and think about what you just read…I’m going to leave off right there about that subject…now on with the racing report!!! We left off last month with a wreck at Pike County, where we had gotten tangled in someone else’s mess. We start off this month with the same story! I know, it’s crazy!!! We have somewhat of a pattern going here…WIN, WIN, CRASH/DNF, CRASH/ DNF…what’s next??? LOL!!! Spoiler alert..the pattern continues, POOR PERFORMANCE, POOR PERFORMANCE…Let me tell you about it… So, went and raced at Deep South Speedway for the 4th of July makeup race first. The makeup date was set for July 18, where we would be starting 3rd in the 20 lap feature for the $1200 to win event! We were FAST! We ran 2nd most of the race, following closely behind our friend Joey Moxley (#75). Joey and Chase gapped the rest of the field (which included the “Rocketman” Ryan Fowler) by a full straightaway! Chase could gain a little ground on Joey in turns 1 and 2, but Joey was quicker in turns 3 and 4, which kept the two pretty equal! It was looking like a comfortable 2nd place finish for us with just 3 laps to go! But, as Joey went under the flagstand, with the white flag in the air he had trouble ahead!!! Two lapped cars were battling (side by side) for position right in front of him! Joey knew Chase was coming hot behind him and he needed to do something quick. Joey made a bold dive between the two cars going into turn one! It looked like a great move until the inside car panicked as he locked the brakes due to slight contact on Joey’s left rear quarter panel! This caused the lapped car to spin around and block the lane of the track in front of…GUESS WHO??? Chase Holland!!! Chase was already committed and had his car sideways going into the turn which left him with NO options! Chase hit the lapped car in the left front wheel stopping them both dead in the track. Most tracks run a no-fault rule, which means that whoever is involved in a wreck and/or stops on the track has to be sent to the rear! Some tracks make exceptions if the wreck is caused by lapped cars… Other tracks stick to the rule, NO EXCEPTIONS! Well, needless to say, we were sent to the rear of the field. It sucks but its racing!

Next race, Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS. We were quick straight out the trailer! Chase started dead last in the 1st heat race. Chase got up on that wheel and drove his hotrod immediately to 2nd place where he then put on a heck of a race for the heat win over Robert Casada (#K9). Chase started on the pole for the feature. He lost the lead when an early caution came out and froze the field with Chase in 2nd…Chase took it to the highside, where he looked really sporty, but after a series of cautions and restarts, something appeared to have given up on the racecar. From that point on it was strictly survival! Chase skated around with no forward drive and managed to hang on for a 4th place finish! I’ll take it considering how bad it could have been for us! After checking over everything we didn’t find anything wrong so we wrote it off as a bad pair of rear tires that wouldn’t refire! The next 2 weeks we took off from racing, but we continued working on the car as well as the new enclosed trailer! We had a bunch to do to prepare our equipment for the upcoming 8th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals! Next race, 8th Annual Southern Street Stock Nationals at Whynot. This is one of the most prestigious dirt track races in the South! We planned a camping/family 4-day trip! The event was scheduled from August 12th-15th. With Chase celebrating his 17th birthday on August 12th, he requested that we attend this race together as a family for his birthday present! Sounded great to me! A couple weeks before this huge event, I started trying to land Chase a ride in a street stock car! (in addition to racing his modified…) It’s something he’s wanted to drive forever, and this would be a great opportunity to see how he stacks up against drivers from across the country, young and old! We made it known publicly that we were looking for something for Chase to race! I had a couple leads from our fans but came up empty handed in the end. Most drivers that we talked to were surprised that Chase wasn’t offered a ride. They all said the same thing…we had waited too late because everyone already had their drivers selected long before we threw his name out there! That made me feel good to hear so many drivers repeat that same statement and compliment Chase for being a smooth wheelman! We never gave up all the way until the cars were rolling on the track! We had walked around the pits and shook hands while meeting people hoping we could strum something up (most people knew us already from our videos)…again no luck! That didn’t stop us from having an awesome time all weekend! I had prepared

myself for the worst! I mean, as screwed up as this year has been, (Thanks to Covid-19) and with all of the normal traveling that Adrian and I usually do for our businesses being cancelled, I didn’t know how Adrian was going to handle being stuck at a racetrack for 4 HOT days in the dirt and mud! ACTUALLY… she was surprisingly pleasant all weekend!!! Don’t misunderstand me, she’s always pleasant, but this was the closest thing we might see this year to a vacation, and she knew that! She was so excited to go, and I think what made it super awesome was it felt NORMAL!!! No stupid masks! No mandates! No “Karens” to run tattle because everyone is having fun! It was awesome! It felt good to feel normal for a minute! Adrian grilled and kept us full of groceries all weekend! She stayed up into the early morning hours watching racing with us! It was AWESOME!!! We talked on the way home about what we will bring/do different next year! You know everyone had a good time when you start immediately planning for “next year”! Chase’s pit crew (Paw Paw George, Uncle Albert, Uncle Rocky) joined us Saturday night for the feature races and they brought up a birthday cake for Chase! It was awesome!

The FANS!!!! Oh my goodness! The fans were the highlight of the weekend at Whynot!!! Adrian didn’t realize how much or how quickly Chase’s fan base has grown!!! We had SOOOOO many fans come to our pit to visit/meet us and buy merchandise!!! We must have sold over a hundred t-shirts, we sold out of hats, we even sold several hoodies! (IN AUGUST!!!!) We have some loyal racing fans! We really appreciate each and every one of you! It was funny to see the shock on Adrian’s face as the fans knew who she was from our videos! What a blessing this has been! Our YOUTUBE channel is gaining momentum and it’s almost monetized, so soon we will be making money off of our racing videos, which we will reinvest into our racing program! Oh yeah… the racing…it was awesome too! We practiced Wednesday and Thursday night. We spectated Friday night, and we raced the modified Saturday night/Sunday morning! We qualified 10th out of 26 modifieds! We started 4th and finished 4th in our heat race which had us starting 10th for the feature. We advanced to around 8th place in the feature and was looking really sporty, until once again, the car lost forward drive! We fell all the way back to 15th and scratched our way back to a 9th place finish with minimal damage! Something is wrong and we’re going to take this car apart piece by piece with our friend Noah Daspit until we figure out what’s going on! We will get it back right soon! Cruisin’ Registration Deadline Nears Time is running out to get your ride registered for CRUISIN’ THE COAST 2020. EARLY REGISTRATION ENDS AUGUST 15 It’s creeping up soon and you don’t want to miss it. You’ve got time, but you have to hurry. August 15 will be here and gone soon. If you’re not registered, you can do so online at www.cruisinthecoast.com . If that isn’t your thing, you can also find a registration form on our website that is fillable and printable. Simply complete it and mail it in to us with your payment. Online registrations must be completed prior to midnight, August 15, when the system will close. Faxed registrations (228-385-3842) must be time-stamped prior to midnight, August 15. Mailed registrations must be postmarked no later than August 15. Early registration includes a mailed registration confirmation card, which when turned in at Cruise Central, gets you in the running for one of 10 $500 cash prizes. It also gets you a free participant t-shirt, which is not available to those registering on site. Best of all, it only costs $60 to register early. If you wait until you get to Cruise Central, it will cost you $90 and you don’t get the free stuff. If you’re not sure if you’ve registered, give us a call at 228-385-3847, M-F, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., CST. Let’s answer the big question most of you have: Cruisin’ The Coast 2020 is still a “GO” as of this writing. We are moving ahead with our plans and hope for the best in October, which is still a little ways away. As you will see inside, we have been busy pulling everything together, planning to see you in October. We’ve been placing a lot of focus on health and safety. We will follow federal, state and local guidelines as best we can, with your help. To that end, we will take enhanced measures for you, our volunteers and guests. We are bringing on additional (twice as many) hand-wash stations. Portable facilities will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized each morning and again during the day. Our volunteers will be issued masks, hand sanitizer and gloves. Of course, we are depending on you to take appropriate personal protections and recognize and practice safety recommendations as well. To help follow social distancing protocols, we are making changes to the package pick up and on-site registration procedures. Please read the instructions within closely. We ask for your understanding and cooperation. In the event we are required to cancel this year’s Cruisin’, our plan is to either refund your 2020 fee or roll it over to next year. But we won’t think about that now! Those details will be published when and if needed. Cruise Central will be back at Centennial Plaza this year. Last year was a learning experience for us and for you. Inside you’ll find suggestions for making the registration experience better all around. From the “cool as it gets” department, CTC will again host a leg of the Street Rodder Road Tour. They will be making appearances at select CTC venues and will have evening showcases at the IP Casino Resort Spa. They are a great bunch of hot rodders and very entertaining to talk to. It has been a much different spring and summer for all of us. We are hoping CTC will bring some much-needed relief and happiness.
