Il patrimonio naturalistico e culturale della Valle Camonica, la Valle dei Segni annovera un parco nazionale (Parco dello Stelvio), un parco regionale (Parco dell’Adamello), riserve e parchi naturali (pag. 10), il primo sito UNESCO dichiarato in Italia - n. 94 “Arte Rupestre della Valle Camonica” costituito da 7 parchi all’aperto in cui ammirare oltre 300.000 incisioni rupestri (pag. 11) e molto altro ancora. La Valle Camonica, che si sta per candidare a Riserva della Biosfera dell’UNESCO, per l’impegno profuso nel promuovere lo sviluppo sostenibile, valorizzando il territorio senza trascurare la protezione della natura e della biodiversità, costituisce una splendida occasione per contemplare maestosi scenari o per praticare attività all’aria aperta rispettose dell’ambiente: trekking, passeggiate in famiglia, arrampicata, escursioni a cavallo e non solo. A pagina 6 troverete alcune proposte per scoprire a piedi questo territorio dall’intenso fascino ancestrale, mentre a pagina 14 e seguenti delle proposte per una vacanza a basso impatto ambientale.

The natural and cultural heritage of Valle Camonica, the Valley of Landmarks, includes a national park (Stelvio National Park), a regional park (Adamello Park), nature reserves and parks (page 10) and the first UNESCO World Heritage Site in Italy - n. 94 “Rock Drawings of Valle Camonica” made up of 7 open-air parks containing over 300,000 petroglyphs (page 11) and much more besides. Valle Camonica is about to present its candidacy as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in light of its significant efforts to promote sustainable development through valorisation of the area but without neglecting the protection of nature and biodiversity. The valley provides excellent opportunities for contemplating majestic scenery or practising outdoor activities that respect the environment: trekking, family walks, climbing, horse riding and many other activities. On page 6 you’ll find several ideas for discovering this area of intense ancestral allure on foot, while on page 14 onwards you’ll find ideas for a holiday with a low environmental impact.

Zum landschaftlichen und kulturellen Reichtum des Valcamonica, dem Tal der Felsbilder, gehören ein Nationalpark (der Nationalpark Stilfserjoch), ein Regionalpark (Regionalpark Adamello), Naturschutzgebiete bzw. Naturparks (Seite 10) sowie die erste italienische Stätte, die zum Weltkulturerbe Nr. 94 der UNESCO erklärt wurde: die “Felsbilder des Valcamonica”, die aus insgesamt 7 Parks bestehen, in denen man im Freien über 300.000 Felsbilder bewundern kann (Seite 11), und noch vieles mehr. Das Valcamonica, das sich bei der UNESCO um die Anerkennung als Biosphärenreservat bewerben wird, bietet durch den konstanten Einsatz für eine nachhaltige Entwicklung und die Aufwertung der Region - ohne dabei den Schutz der Natur und der Biodiversität aus den Augen zu verlieren - die einzigartige Gelegenheit, majestätische Landschaften zu erleben oder Aktivitäten im Freien zu praktizieren, die die Umwelt respektieren: Trekking, Wanderungen mit der ganzen Familie, Kletterpartien, Ausflüge zu Pferd, um nur einige zu nennen. L’indicazione delle difficoltà di un itinerario è data per facilitare la scelta di un’escursione. Serve in primo luogo per evitare ad escursionisti ed alpinisti di dover affrontare inaspettatamente passaggi superiori alle loro capacità o ai loro desideri. Nonostante una precisa ricerca la valutazione delle difficoltà rimane essenzialmente indicativa e va considerata come tale. The level of difficulty of a trail is given to assist in selecting a particular walk. In the first place, it serves to prevent hikers and climbers from having to unexpectedly tackle sections that are more difficult than their ability or their wishes. Even though thorough research has been undertaken, an assessment of difficulty is still essentially an indication and should be considered as such. Die Angabe des Schwierigkeitsgrads einer Wanderung soll bei der Wahl der Ausflüge behilflich sein. Sie soll vor allem vermeiden, dass Wanderer und Alpinisten ganz plötzlich mit Streckenabschnitten konfrontiert werden, die ihre Fähigkeiten und Absichten übersteigen. Trotz sorgfältiger Recherchen handelt es sich hierbei um ungefähre Angaben, die als solche behandelt werden müssen.

Itinerari generalmente segnalati ma che implicano una capacità di muoversi su terreni particolari. Sentieri o tracce su terreno impervio e infido (pendii ripidi e/o scivolosi di erba, o misti di rocce ed erba, o di roccia e detriti). Terreno vario, a quote relativamente elevate (pietraie, brevi nevai non ripidi, pendii aperti senza punti di riferimento, ecc.). Tratti rocciosi, con lievi difficoltà tecniche (percorsi attrezzati, vie ferrate fra quelle di minor impegno). Rimangono invece esclusi i percorsi su ghiacciai, anche se pianeggianti e/o all’apparenza senza crepacci (perché il loro attraversamento richiederebbe l’uso della corda e della piccozza e la conoscenza delle relative manovre di assicurazione). Necessitano: esperienza di montagna in generale e buona conoscenza dell’ambiente alpino; passo sicuro e assenza di vertigini; equipaggiamento, attrezzatura e preparazione fisica adeguati. These paths are generally marked but imply an ability to tackle particular terrain. Paths or sections over arduous or treacherous terrain (steep and/or slippery, grassy slopes, or mixed slopes of rocks and grass, or rocks and screed); varied terrain, at relatively high altitudes (stony ground, short snow-covered sections, open slopes without points of reference, etc.); rocky terrain, with technical difficulty (equipped paths, via ferrata routes of less difficulty). Excluded, instead, from this rating are routes over glaciers, even if flat and/or apparently without cracks (because crossing them would require the use of ropes and pick axe and a knowledge of anchoring manoeuvres). Required: experience of mountains in general and a good knowledge of the alpine environment; sure-footedness and absence of vertigo; suitable equipment and physical preparation. Die Strecken sind generell markiert, es wird jedoch die Fähigkeit vorausgesetzt, sich auf besonderem Gelände fortzubewegen. Nicht auszuschließen sind unwegsame und heikle Pfade oder Wegstrecken (steile und/oder rutschige Grashalden und Schrofen); gemischtes Gelände in relativer Höhe (Geröllhalden, kurze, eher flache Firnfelder, offene Hänge ohne Orientierungspunkt u.s.w.); felsige Streckenabschnitte mit geringer technischer Schwierigkeit (gesicherte Strecken, nicht sehr anspruchsvolle Klettersteige). In dieser Kategorie sind Gletscher ausgenommen, auch wenn sie eher flach und/oder auf den ersten Blick spaltenlos erscheinen, denn das Überqueren würde den Einsatz von Seil und Pickel voraussetzen und somit Kenntnisse über die entsprechende Sicherungstechnik. Notwendig sind eine generelle alpine Erfahrung und gute Kenntnisse der alpinen Umgebung, Trittsicherheit, Schwindelfreiheit sowie eine entsprechende Ausrüstung und körperliche Vorbereitung.

Itinerari che si svolgono quasi sempre su sentieri, oppure su tracce di passaggio in terreno vario (pascoli, detriti, pietraie), di solito con segnalazioni; possono esservi brevi tratti pianeggianti o lievemente inclinati di neve residua, quando, in caso di caduta, la scivolata si arresta in breve spazio e senza pericoli. Si sviluppano a volte su terreni aperti, senza sentieri ma non problematici, sempre con segnalazioni adeguate. Possono svolgersi su pendii ripidi; i tratti esposti sono in genere protetti (barriere) o assicurati (cavi). Possono avere singoli passaggi su roccia, non esposti, o tratti brevi e non faticosi né impegnativi grazie ad attrezzature (scalette, pioli, cavi) che però non necessitano l’uso di equipaggiamento specifico (imbragatura, moschettoni, ecc.). Richiedono un certo senso di orientamento, come pure una certa esperienza e conoscenza del territorio montagnoso, allenamento alla camminata, oltre a calzature ed equipaggiamento adeguati. Trails that are almost always over paths or sections of varied terrain (fields, screed, stony ground), which are usually marked; there may be short flat or gentle sloping sections of residual snow, where, in the event of a fall, the hiker will fall only for a very short distance and without hazards. They may cross open terrain, without paths, but free of problems and always with suitable signs, or over steep slopes; exposed sections are generally protected (barriers) or have anchoring devices (cables). There may be individual sections over non-exposed rocks, or short, nontiring or non-challenging sections thanks to the presence of equipment (ladders, rungs, cables), which, however, do not require the use of specific equipment (harnesses and carabiners, etc.). They require a certain sense of orientation, some experience and knowledge of mountain terrain, and a good level of fitness for walking, as well as suitable equipment and footwear. Die Wege sind fast immer gut begehbar bzw. können streckenweise durch wechselndes Gelände (Gras- und Geröllhalden) führen; sie sind normalerweise gut markiert; es können flache oder leicht geneigte Stellen mit Restschnee vorkommen, aber im Fall eines Sturzes endet der Fall schnell und gefahrlos. Bisweilen kann die Strecke über offenes Gelände ohne Wege führen, ist aber nie heikel und immer entsprechend markiert. Es kann über steile Hänge gehen. Exponierte Stellen sind in der Regel mit Absperrungen geschützt oder mit Seilen gesichert. Einige Abschnitte können über Felsen führen, sind aber nicht exponiert bzw. nur kurz und dank der Sicherungen (Seile und Leitern) weder anspruchsvoll noch ermüdend; eine besonderer Ausrüstung wie Klettergurte, Karabiner u.s.w. ist nicht notwendig. Außer etwas Orientierungssinn sowie eine gewisse alpine Erfahrung und Kenntnisse der alpinen Umgebung sind ein gewisses Maß an Ausdauer und zweckmäßige Schuhe und Ausrüstung erforderlich.

TURISTICO / TOURIST PATHS / TOURIST

Itinerari su stradine, mulattiere o comodi sentieri, con percorsi ben evidenti e che non pongono incertezze o problemi di orientamento. Si svolgono in genere sotto i 2000 m e costituiscono di solito l’accesso ad alpeggi o rifugi. Richiedono una certa conoscenza dell’ambiente montano e una preparazione fisica alla camminata. Trails along lanes, mule tracks or easy paths, with well-marked routes that pose no uncertainties or problems of orientation. They are generally located below 2,000 m and usually provide access to pastures or mountain huts. They require a certain knowledge of the mountain environment and an average level of fitness for walking. Die Strecke besteht aus kleinen Straßen und gut begehbaren Wegen bzw. Saumpfaden, die gut markiert sind und keine Unsicherheiten oder Probleme bei der Orientierung schaffen. Es handelt sich in der Regel um Zufahrtswege zu Almen und Hütten, wobei eine Höhe von 2000 m kaum überschritten wird. Eine gewisse Kenntnis der alpinen Umgebung sowie eine entsprechende physische Vorbereitung sind notwendig.

La Valle Camonica è nota in tutto il mondo per la straordinaria ricchezza e varietà di incisioni rupestri, inserite nel 1979, quale primo sito italiano, nella Lista del Patrimonio Mondiale dell’UNESCO. Essa rappresenta un luogo di fascino e suggestione davvero unico, in cui l’Uomo e l’ambiente hanno interagito fin dalla Preistoria, caratterizzandola come “La Valle dei Segni”. Il patrimonio del sito UNESCO n. 94 “Arte Rupestre della Valle Camonica” è distribuito lungo l’intera Valle, con oltre 180 località sparse su 24 comuni, e attraversa più di 12 mila anni di storia. Riveste un’importanza fondamentale non solo per la quantità di soggetti incisi e per l’evoluzione cronologica, ma anche per lo stretto legame che le incisioni hanno con la storia dell’Uomo: scoprire e conoscere l’arte rupestre camuna permette di compiere un viaggio unico e indimenticabile nella preistoria e protostoria europea per giungere, attraverso le incisioni di età storica (romana, medievale e moderna), sino alle soglie del XX secolo. Valle Camonica is known throughout the world for the extraordinary richness and variety of its rock engravings, which became, in 1979, Italy’s first entry into the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites. It is a truly unique place that is both fascinating and striking, where man and the environment have interacted since Prehistory, turning it into “The Valley of Landmarks”. The heritage of UNESCO site n. 94 “Rock Drawings in Valle Camonica” is distributed along the entire valley, with over 180 sites scattered over 24 municipalities and straddling more than 12,000 years of history. The site is of fundamental importance not only for the quantity of petroglyphs and for their chronological evolution, but also for the close links that the engravings have with man’s history. Discovering and learning about the Camuna rock art takes visitors on a unique and unforgettable journey through European prehistory and protohistory, reaching, through engravings made in more recent times (Roman, medieval and modern), to the threshold of the twentieth century. Das Valcamonica ist in der ganzen Welt für den außerordentlichen Reichtum und die Vielfalt seiner Felsbilder bekannt und seit 1979 als erste italienische Stätte in die Liste des UNESCO-Weltkulturerbes aufgenommen. Dieses “Tal der Felsbilder”, in dem der Mensch und seine Umgebung schon seit der Vorzeit zusammengewirkt haben, übt eine wirklich einzigartige Faszination aus. Die Felsbilder des Valcamonica - das Weltkulturerbe Nr. 94 der UNESCO - können entlang des gesamten Tals angetroffen werden. Es handelt sich um insgesamt über 180 Stätten in 24 Gemeinden, die mehr als 12.000 Jahre Geschichte offenlegen. Das Tal ist nicht nur von größter Bedeutung, was die Menge der Abbildungen und deren chronologische Entwicklung angeht, sondern vor allem aufgrund der engen Verbindung, die diese Felszeichnungen mit der Geschichte des Menschen haben: Die Felsbilder des Valcamonica zu entdecken und kennenzulernen heißt, eine einzigartige und unvergessliche Reise in die europäische Vor- und Frühgeschichte zu unternehmen und dank der Zeichnungen aus der römischen Epoche, des Mittelalters und der Neuzeit bis an die Schwelle des 20. Jahrhunderts zu gelangen.
